His new album "Myself" is not just a reintroduction to him as an artist but him as an individual. When it comes to durability , vocal talent , and an undeniable pen game August is the man. "Lied To You" was the first single released and it definitely left you anticipating with what was to come. This album has tracks for the weekend and the "Weekdays". August is proof that no matter what happens , you "Never Fold." This side of August is giving very much transformation and openness. "Same" is a powerful track August discusses the wickedness of the world , racism, police brutality, bills over meals, poverty, and teen pregnancy, It hasn't always been a "Party" through the industry but he has always found a way to celebrate and win through his battles. The New Orleans born an raised entertainer is so passionate about what he does whether its music or his brandEncina Wellness he puts his all into it. "On Me" has big love vibes written all over it. August Alsina is the name ! The 10 track project was much needed but there's more to him that we haven't seen or heard yet, trust and believe that. The production sounds beautiful. The piano and the drums combined together create a beautiful masterpiece. Not only did August sang on this album , he wrote all the songs and Sean McMillion co-wrote two. I..When God is for me no weapon can hold me- August Alsina (GRINDIN Lyric) New Orleans singer and songwriter August Alsina recently sat down with the beautiful Jada Pinkett Smith for a one on one session. Over the years August and the Smith family have become really close. August even refers to Mrs.Smith as being his favorite person in the whole world. August wanted to be completely honest and let his fans know what has been going on in his life. Throughout all of his battles he still fights and wants his supporters to really feel him and understand who he behind the fame. Watching August speak to Mrs.Pinkett touched my heart in a special way. It really made me open my eyes . I'm literally in the hospital right now writing this article. I admire his strength, love, and honesty. The fact that he shared so many personal details about his life shows absolute strength ,courage, and freedom . Psalm 118:14 says "The LORD is my strength and my defense ; he has become my salvation". No matter what you may face in this thing called life you just have to trust God and watch him pull you through . Watch a clip from the interview below. August you are in my prayers . Stay blessed ! We all are trying to survive this thing called life. Whether old, young, rich or poor we all face daily challenges just trying to make it, to be happy, to be free of the heartache and pain. However are we every really free? Does the bull crap ever stop? The upcoming sophomore album "This Thing Called Life" by August Alsina is going to high light exactly what we're all thinking. August just released the "This Thing Called Life" trailer tonight. Watching it I teared up even though its 1:24 (he covered a lot in the trailer). When an artist puts out content that you can relate to , it goes beyond just posting or reading an article it gets to your heart, your emotions, and your thoughts. The trailer shows August in various scenes tossing and turning in bed, in the bathroom with full and empty pill bottles, viewing the streets from his window, a policemen standing over him with a gun, and him frustrated and throwing his plaque. Meanwhile the voice over you hear are his inner thoughts. The ones you seems to miss by his infamous smile in Instagram pictures. Truth is you never know what someone is thinking or going through that's why we shouldn't judge, The truth also is is that we have to speak up how we feel. Could you relate to the scenes and thoughts in this trailer? How many nights have you stayed up just thinking about things changing for the better? Have you ever doubted God's love? Have you ever thought enough was enough? Realized money just might not change the pain in our hearts or the people and situations around us ? Yeah I think we've all been there. I definitely think this album is going to be deep, honest, and a straight forward message. August even touched on "Who is policing the police?" in this trailer. We all are resonating on that due to the constant murders of African Americans by police. No matter what age the question of "What's next"? always floats around in our minds. Trusting God, believing, and continuing to survive regardless of the let downs is all that matters. Yes this Thing Called Life is a trip and we may never understand why things are the way they are. However, our purpose is to get through it . In an old Hot 97 interview I heard August say "I know that I'm hustla, I know that I'm a grinder and I know that I'm gone pray each and everyday and I'm gone be wherever God put me." That quote is so true. August definitely is a hustler and a grinder and in "This Thing Called Life" no matter what trials and tribulations he faces he'll continue to grind and pray. "Thing Thing Called Life" album releases 12.11.2015. Watch the trailer below and get his single "Song Cry"(Here) . This album trailer visual is attention grabbing and definitely builds up the anticipation for the album and videos. August Alsina , Payne Lindsey , and the crew did an awesome job .

Every rose needs the rain sometimes. How true is that? Pain and hurt serve as obstacles in life that help us to bloom and evolve. Sometimes we have to let it go and release the tears and hidden emotions. August Alsina's new single "Song Cry" produced by Brandon Hodge is so sincere and true. August speaks on numerous things on the track such as two faced people , undercover haters, trying to figure out which way to go in life , learning how to love, the loss of his brother, hate from his family , and how fame nor money can't get the love that he wants from those close to him, and staying inebriated to distance his mind from hurting . This song is so on point. August also references to contemplating suicide. (So glad he didn't ) . I think it's so important that August is telling his story and letting his supporters know that they can relate. That fame isn't all it's made out to be. That there are still problems and things money can't buy. To anyone that may be reading this if you are in a rough place in your life remember that it's okay to cry, it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to let people know how you really feel. You can get through it ! It may seem hard now but things will change for the better. If you are thinking of committing suicide please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention hot line 1-800-273-8255. August is for sure letting his soul cry through these words. Even though he's stating that he's hurt by the people around him, he still has their back and still cares for them. This is a real track! I feel it. I'm pretty sure we all have cried once or a couple times because of pain whether internal or external. No matter who you are or what you are a going through a good cry and release of emotion whether its through tears, singing, art, dancing, writing etc , just might make you feel better. Just to get it out of your system. Who knows your story might just inspire someone else to keep going and not give up. I think August is a great and gifted young man.I'll keep him in prayer for sure. August releases his sophomore album "This Thing Called Life" soon. Stay tuned to his Twitter @AugustAlsina for updates.

August Alsina was so humbled and thankful .He thanked his mama, his fans, and Jesus in his speech. Did you alll feel that ? That moment he's been waiting for . It was truly heart warming to see August accept his award. Lil Wayne perfomed "Krazy" for the first time ever on the BET stage followed by "Believe Me". Of course he shouted out " I love you Reginae" at the end of his set. Zendaya and Nick Cannon presented the uplifting and soulful Tamela Mann with the award for Best Gospel Artist. Gorgeous model Eva Marcille and Terrence J announced Lupita Nyong'o won the award for Best Actress. John Legend took the stage and gave an incredible performance of his latest single "You and I" off his "Love In The Future " album. He also brought out Jhene Aiko who sang her single "The Worst". John Legend sang ad-libbed with Jhene Aiko which added an extra special effect to her song. Hot collaboration. I definitely want to hear more from these two together. After that interesting set Mike Tyson and Gary Owens announced Drake as the Best Male Hip Hop Artist. Did you hear the screams when Chris Rock said Chris Brown was coming to the stage? The moment Team Breezy has been waiting for, Chris Brown gave an electrifying performance of "Loyal" alongside Lil Wayne , Tyga , and Travis Barker on the drums. Chris Brown did his thing as usual. Weren't you happy to see Breezy rock out with those epic dance moves ? Common introduced Music Matters artist Gabi Wilson whom is 17 and can sing and play 10 instruments. Huge shout out and much success to Gabi. Lionel Richie has done great things in the music industry and for him to be acknowledged for all his great achievements and works by BET is a huge honor. John Legend, Ledisi, Yolanda Adams all sang to Lionel Richie. In Lionel Richie's acceptance speech he said "Soul is a feeling not a color , talent is a God given gift and not a category and out of the box is that magical place where talent goes to live, and thrive, and breed and may you never give that up as long as you're in this business". Chris Rock introduced singers singing a few old school R&B love songs like "All I Do Is Think Of You" , "Sex You Up", and "Freak Me". Ms.Debra Lee the CEO and Chairman of BET looked beautiful presenting the Humanitarian Award. I think its very important that she addressed that this summer marks the 50th anniversary of the civil rights act of 1964. She said "The government action that outlawed discrimination based on race, color, sex, religion , or national origin. Signing that act took a pen but getting to that act took passion, patience, tears, blood, pride and lives. Segregation was a national scourge and groups of people many of whom were only in their twenties refused in different ways to allow America's future to look like its past. They made this countries shame a global story. One that brought attention to African American second class citizenship and courageous young people that refused that status. We are here on this stage tonight because that generation of citizens stood , sat, marched, and refused to move to make this country better". She presented the BET Award By StateFarm to Myrlie Evers Williams. Phylicia Rashad celebrated the illuminating light of both legendary woman Maya Angelou and Ruby Dee. Those two phenomenal women will never be forgotten. BET also took the time to remember stars whom have passed this year. Vision Implementer Tyrese sang from the soul the late Bobby Womack's "If You Think You're Lonely Now". Robin Thicke took to the piano to sing "Forever Love". Floyd Mayweather announced Nicki Minaj as the winner for Best Female Hip Hop Artist .Beyonce and Jay Z closed the show with a fiery and sexy performance of "Partition" from their "On The Run Tour".
