![]() The vehicles at The Philly Auto Show are exhilarating, extraordinary, powerful, and seductively desirable. Today on January 30,2015 I got an exclusive behind the scenes look at the exotic, pre-production, classic, concept, and product cars on Media Day. There are 49 manufacturers with 700 cars displayed over the 700,000 square foot Convention Center. There is definitely a vehicle that will excite the car lover in you. Walking into the auto show exhibit the NIssan GTR immediately caught my eye. I interviewed Steven Oldham the Nissan North America PR Manager about the Nissan GTR. The Mogul Girl: So tell me about the Nissan GTR? Steven Oldham: So this is as we call it our super car. It has 545 horse power and its unbelievably fast. We call it sort of a halo car. We don’t sell many of these but its been around the Nissan line up for a number of years. It has a very huge following in the United States and Japan. Its for that single person that wants a car that is fun to drive. Its starts at a little over 100,000. Its definitely a fun style car. The car is so powerful it is nicknamed Godzilla. The Mogul Girl : What’s your favorite thing about this vehicle? Steven Oldham: The power. You floor this thing. You actually get sucked into the seat, thats how powerful it is. I ventured over to the Jaguar display and checked out the Jaguar F-Type. After getting inside the very luxurious vehicle I interviewed Jaguar Representative Loraine. The F-Type is definitely a great two seater sports car. I definitely loved the style and features of the F-Type. The Bentley, Ashton Martin, Rolls Royce Ghost, Lamborghini Huracan, and LP 700-4 are very exotic, exclusive and brilliant vehicles. The colors are super appealing. You can’t help but gravitate to these beauties. You will definitely fall for them. I absolutely love the LP 700-4. Jeep Camp was so much fun. I sat in the passenger seat of the Jeep Rubicon 2015 as the professional 4X4 driver TJ gave me the full experience of The Jeep Test Track adventure zone. The Rubicon is very spacious. This was definitely a interesting interactive part of the auto show. The Ford display was superb. Ford Representative James Tobin gave me the best tour of the latest Ford models. He was a great interview and such a kind person. Make sure you stop by the Ford display and see all the great vehicles. The 2015 Ford F-150 is truly Ford Tough. The Mercedes Benz and Lexus display is incredible. The vibrant colors and beautiful interior is beyond fantastic. One of their classy models are guaranteed to draw you in. These vehicles are truly great.

The Mogul Girl : What's it like growing up in South Carolina? Shawn Smith : Well growing up in South Carolina is not the best but its great once you get use to living here. I’m from the Columbia area . Its not big at all , everybody knows everybody. Growing up I was always grinding. Comedy is my dream but currently I’m doing medical billing. South Carolina is a great place to visit but I wouldn't say live. 3.) The Mogul Girl : How has social media impacted you? Shawn Smith : Well social media really helped me a lot to be honest . I really get noticed now from people in my area for my videos. So I would say it impacted me a lot. 4.) The Mogul Girl : What made you pursue comedy? Shawn Smith : I was always joking coming up . I use to be a class clown. I love making people laugh. You never know if somebody is having a bad day so I love making their day better. 5.) The Mogul Girl : What's the funniest movie you ever saw? Shawn Smith : Think Like A Man 6.) The Mogul Girl : There's a lot of bullying going on online, what's your opinion on that? Shawn Smith : I think bullying isn’t cool in no way whether online or offline . I don’t support bullying. I was bullied coming up but unlike others I learned to stand up for myself. I think online bullying has to stop. 7.)The Mogul Girl : What does success mean to you? Shawn Smith: Success to me means to accomplish goals that I set and setting more to accomplish. Follow @Teezy2Times on Twitter Vine @HighStandards27K Twitter.com/HighStandards27KTHE Its game time and Davon Gaskins is shooting the winning basket for his dreams. He is not giving up and he is aiming high. I am personally proud of his growth and excited that he will be graduating in May. As a young college athlete and entrepreneur Davon has many options and he choosing to succeed. According to the stats Davon is intelligent, hardworking, dedicated to his goals family, friends, and creative. So it was time to speak to the soon to be graduate about what’s going on in his world, so check out the interview below. 1.) The Mogul Girl : What have you learned from your college experience ? Davon Gaskins : What have I learned from my college experience? I've learned that you can really work towards accomplishing your dreams, its kinda surreal to me. When I say accomplish dreams I acknowledge small dreams that make up the big picture. Honestly, I feel that its just the beginning for me and my team. So every small step means a lot and a I think people underestimate that. For example in May my childhood dream of being a college student athlete will be accomplished. The success around me brings me joy and seeing the people around me reach for their dreams helps me sleep at night. My brother Dre said he wanted to work on a yacht as a kid, and he achieved it and his big picture got even bigger. Dappa and Black were teammates of mine back in high school. They said they wanted to be rappers after 2 years in college. Behold by senior year they’re rocking the stage together at State College. Its truly amazing to witness people prosper. A long time friend of mine said she was going to be on the TV show Top Model back in the day, then one day I turn on the TV and there she is on the show and a fan favorite. Words can’t explain how it feels to go from competing against some guys growing up to seeing them on ESPN in the drafts talks. Even watching Meek Mill career grow from the streets of Philly to mainstream America is a pleasure. Overall, the main thing I’m taking from college is patience, and I want to continue to let the success around me motivate me so I can continue to progress. 2.) The Mogul Girl : What inspires you? Davon Gaskins : What inspires me? My family and friends inspire me. They are my support system their belief in me in is what I treasure most. Without them I’d probably would’ve given up a long time ago to be honest. The young ones also inspire me because I want to set a good example, a clear cut example and not a jaded image of a role model. I always try to good and inspire others because I feel the world needs that from some people ya know. So I don’t mind walking that path. 3.) The Mogul Girl : If you could play one song for the rest of your life everyday , what would it be and why? Davon Gaskins : Thats a good question. Off the top it would have to be “Too deep for the intro” by J.Cole off his “Friday Night Lights” Mixtape . Is letting the entire mixtape play through an option? Haha 4.) The Mogul Girl : How important are your goals? Davon Gaskins : My goals are my primary focus if that answers your question. I’m at a point in my life where I just want to buckle down and begin to really apply my potential and its a blessing because my team has that same sense of urgency. So we’re focused on building an empire for our families. My goals are all I really live for honestly, when I think about it. 5.) The Mogul Girl : What's your dream job? Davon Gaskins : My dream is to go on a journey. I want to help people and experience how truly amazing human culture is. I say human culture because I believe that there is one race and that’s the human race. I know it sounds a bit cliche but I would love to genuinely experience cultures from around the globe. Like for instance if I could spend a week in the “shoes” of random people from around the world, I would definitely do it in a heart beat. 6.) The Mogul Girl : Movies impact the minds of many. If you directed your own movie, what would the message be? Davon Gaskins : If I directed my own movie it would be something raw, humorous, yet still thought provoking. The message would be probably something subliminally uplifting ya know haha. I hate to bore people lol. 7.) The Mogul Girl : So how does it feel to be young with options? Davon Gaskins : Being young with options is truly a blessing and an opportunity. I just try to remain thankful for the path God has granted me. I know I have a mountain of accomplishments to reach but I’m learning to be thankful for the struggle cause it makes the sunny days even sunnier. 8.) The Mogul Girl : You are graduating in May , how do you feel? Davon Gaskins : Graduation! I'm excited, wish Jonny was here to see this. We were at rock bottom together and got on track one after the other its tearing me up to lose my boy. I know he looked at me like a big bro and would be proud to see me walk across that stage just like back in high school when I went on prom. Jonny was an angel and I know he's watching over me & the team. So everything I do, I do for Johhny & Shaddy , because family comes first and my boyz deserve all that I receive . So graduation is good and all but its only sign that day two of my life is on the way. 9.) The Mogul Girl : Being from Philly what does the city mean to you? Davon Gaskins : Philly to me is the city of tough love, I'm grateful for everything I learned & experienced growing up in North Philly. You gotta have tough skin in Philly, and if you don't, the people around you will surely help you develop that. However, at the end of the day I think all the hate in my city is just misplaced love. I feel we're progressing though honestly the "Brotherly Love" is slowly coming back to my city. 10.) The Mogul Girl : Life teaches us many things and it also makes us happy. What currently makes you happy? Davon Gaskins : Currently productivity and time spent with family & friends brings me the most happiness at this point in life. 11.) The Mogul Girl : Is there anything you want The Mogul Minute readers to know about Davon Gaskins? Davon Gaskins : I want the readers to know that with every fiber of my being, I want the best for everyone. I also want to say sorry to the people I annoy with the positivity. Look at it this way; its not too many people out here willing to get on your nerves because they want the best for you. So when you find that keep it, and keep it close. Thanks for all the love & support from the people & the mogul minute! Currently Davon is campaigning for his dream job to help the youth in Africa . Which I think is phenomenal . He could really use your support. Click here to vote !! ![]() Davon lost a close brother and a friend in December of 2014. Jonathan Rosado 22, a coach for Legacy Youth Tennis was murdered. You can read more about his story (here) .My heart and prayers go out to Davon, Jonathan’s family and friends. From reading his story its truly sad that someone took his life. I hope that justice is served. I left the frigid temperature outside and entered into the soulful atmosphere of Warmdaddy's. The sound of Stevie Wonder's music brought a smile to my face and brought back so many childhood memories. Patty Jackson was hosting her show live from the restaurant. As I sat at the table with my mother, I noticed everyone was enjoying their food , good music, and friends and family. I ordered Warmdaddy's famous sweet potato cheesecake. It was beyond delicious so much so I requested to meet the chef.I was so surprised when Chef Ed exited the kitchen to meet me. I embraced Chef Ed and thanked him for making such an exquisite dessert. He was just as sweet as my cheesecake. The Warmdaddy's staff and manager Bobby Torres were so pleasant and interacted well with the guests who came to see Patty Jackson and the cast of Motown.
The Motown Musical is currently on tour. The show is playing live in Philly at the Academy of Music January 6-January 18. The legendary Berry Gordy is the founder of Motown. Motown launched the careers of Michael Jackson,Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Marvin Gaye and many more.Since the cast is in Philly they made a special stop at Warmdaddy's. They spent the day performing, chatting live on air with Patty Jackson, and savoring the flavorful and divine meals. Jesse Nager stars in the Motown musical as the incredible Smokey Robinson and Jarran Muse stars as the unforgettable Marvin Gaye. Their smiles were so warming and their aura was so amiable and engaging. As I sat at their table for The Mogul Minute interview I could see they to enjoyed their food. It was such a pleasure to interview two young men who are pursuing their passion and continuing to tell the story of the Motown family live on stage throughout the United States. 1) The Mogul Girl : So Jarran when did you get into acting? Jarran: I got into acting as a kid. I started acting in school plays throughout elementary, middle, high school, and college. It kind of happened naturally. 2) The Mogul Girl: What triggered you to pursue this career? Jarran: In kindergarten my class trip was to see Cinderella at the State Theater in New Brunswick. I never saw a live show so I didn't know what that was. So I started watching Barney ,Sesame Street and stuff like that. Then I realized I wanted to do what I saw the kids incorporated in Barney and the teens in the kiddy shows doing . I just wanted to be one of those people. 3) The Mogul Girl: So Jesse you are playing Smokey Robinson, which one of his songs is your favorite? Jesse: My favorite Smokey Robinson song isn't in the show and its "The Tracks of My Tears". 4) The Mogul Girl: Why is it your favorite? Jesse: I love the harmonies, the lyrics, it just fits together well. Smokey is such a genius at writing melodies that match the music and that's the reason I like it. 5)The Mogul Girl: During the play, what has been your favorite experience? Before we opened the show in New York we had friends and family night. So many Motown artist, creators, office workers , and people who have been apart of Motown came out to the show. It was fun to hang out and talk with them. 6) The Mogul Girl: You guys have traveled a lot what has been your favorite place? Jarran: Its hard to say for me. Every place has its own unique flavor something about it that makes it really special. I'm a big foodie. I love to eat clearly I have several entrees in front of me. I really enjoyed Kanses City, because the Barbeque and the people. Its just something about the Midwest. Depending on where you are its just really nice genuinely friendly people and really good food. 7)The Mogul Girl: Are you enjoying the traveling? Jesse: We've only been to a few cities. I'm excited about Philly also Boston, Florida, Denver, L.A., and Fort Lauderdale. Now we're starting to do the coast so it is going to be a lot of fun. 8) The Mogul Girl: Motown is iconic and has opened doors for numerous opportunities. What have you learned from not only your research but growing up listening to the music and watching it progress? Jesse: One of the things I think is incredibly important for our generation is the reminder that you have to work really hard to become an icon. In the age of American Idol and YouTube sensations, some people are here today and gone tomorrow. All you can do is become famous really quickly. If you want to be Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, or Michael Jackson, you have to work so hard all the time. Its not easy but to get to where you want to be , you have to put the time in. Learning about the artist is just a constant reminder that they grew up with nothing in Detroit and became international superstars because of their hard work. 9) The Mogul Girl :Why should everyone come see Motown the Musical? Jarran: Its a timeless classic! You are going to hear really good music that you're familiar with. We all no matter how old you are, you grew up in Motown. Your parents listened to it as you were kids, their parents listened to it, and you hear it in elevators, you hear it in the doctors waiting room. When you come to the show you already know the music, so it'll take you back . Maybe you were there when the music first came out or maybe you were a little kid and remember an event that happened. Motown the Musical is an American story about the good old American Dream. People will be pleasantly surprised with the story behind the scenes, the story that they are not familiar with. I enjoyed interviewing Jarran and Jesse so much. I loved their personalities. It was a pleasure to speak with them. The music of Motown artist continued to float throughout Warmdaddy's . Motown love was definitely in the air. Thank you so much to Patty Jackson for hosting her show live and bringing the cast of Motown. It was great to see her and congratulate her on 33 years of radio. Just to watch her host live was an amazing experience. I listen to her on the radio all the time, so to watch her do what she loves in person was inspiring to me. She even posed for a selfie .She's a phenomenal woman. Special thanks to Linda.J.Stewart for the opportunity to interview two amazing men Jarran and Jesse. Motown will live on forever . Motown is in all of us. It changed history and paved the way for our present and future. Thank you Berry Gordy for working hard and making dreams come true. Thank you to the iconic Motown artists who gave us life long classic songs that are undeniably great hits for all enternity. For more on Motown the Musical visit www.motownthemusical.com "During your life, never stop dreaming . No one can take away your dreams". I am a full believer in that quote. I love seeing my peers do what they love and make their dream's reality. I discovered Aaron Ball and his self-designed shirts on Instagram. Aaron Ball: No particular song lyrics that mean a lot to me. There's a song by K Camp called “Think About It” .In the chours of the song he states “Keep going ,Kkeep going dont stop! One Day yo sh*t gone pop!” That’s kind of been my motto every since :-). Appreciate that song K Camp! lol 10.)The Mogul Girl: How can your shirts be purchased? Aaron Ball: Via www.abdesignedit.com custom inquires via [email protected] Instagram : Instagram.Com/itzaphotoshoot30 11.)The Mogul Girl: What has art taught you? Aaron Ball: Art has reassured me that anything is possible if you put the time needed into it. |
