It's a little after five in the morning. I'm wide awake as usual. I just checked out Hip Hop Mike's show on Hot 97. He's on air live, Mondays  through Thursday from 12 A. M - 5 A.M . I'm getting ready to interview him in a few minutes. I came a cross his show via Periscope a couple weeks ago and I've been tuned in ever since. As an interviewer it's always an awesome experience to interview another radio, hip hop lover, and host. I've heard Mike mention during his live streaming that he faced various adversities growing up however he didn't allow that to stop him. I believe that  our hardships make us stronger and push us in the path that we're suppose to be in. During our interview Hip Hop Mike expressed that “Radio found him”. Those words are so powerful. The radio, hip hop, and music is staple in my life, so to see and hear him  express the importance of music, business, and staying true was so inspiring. As a teen he used the internet to reach out to Hot 97's crew and the renowned Host/DJ Rosenberg was the only one that responded back to him. His passion for radio and love for music never changed. MIke attended college but it didn't fit him. He also didn't take “No” for answer. His will and drive to be a part of Hot 97 never stopped. His respect for Rosenberg the man who gave him a chance to fulfill his dream is evident.
Hip Hop Mike is definitely a dynamo, achiever, and he loves pizza! All in all I had an awesome time interviewing him. From my home, my city of Philly to the legendary Hot 97 in New York City. Listen to my interview with Hip Hop Mike.

     Founder of The Creative Kids Club , Georgette King and Philly Hoopstarz instructor Jennifer Alvarez put on their first Glow Show March 29,2017 at B-Side Complex.  When asked about "Why it was so important to give back and what's most important?" Owner/Manager of B-Side Complex Bahaa , said "I want to give back to the community because it's a good thing. It's an honor to give back because  we do really good business here and we're not selfish.You always have to look outside the box and see how other people are living. To be able to help somebody just a little bit even though it's not much it's good karma. I love kids in general I have 10 nieces and nephews.  I post them a lot so many people think they're my kids. So when I found out that this was an event for kids I didn't hesitate to help because you can't forget about others. It's a lot of work but at  the end of the day to be successful  is to put your self in the customers shoes and treat everybody like you would want to be treated. People don't know I'm the owner . I might just introduce myself as a manager but overall I want people to have a good time. It's so important to enjoy yourself, and give back because my name means everything to me and I want B-Side Complex to have a good name, good atmosphere, and good vibes.
    Over 100 students, volunteers, parents and teachers filled the B-Side Complex to participate in the the numerous activities planned for the day. Laughter, dancing, hooping, give-aways, and food brought tons of smiles to everyone in attendance. The music was amazing and the day was incredible. The Philly Hoop Starz put on an amazing show with their specialized glow hoops. The children were entertained by Darlene's arts and crafts , Dave The Juggler, Madeleine on Stiltz, Rizz the  live painter, photo booth, Ricki Evans Hip Hop lessons, and Valerie's Food Station. The kids also took a few moments to write letters to the Veterans that serve the United States with Peaches Smith in Connections for Humanites. Each kid also was given a hoola-hoop and a glow item of their choice. The day was absolutely awesome and everyone had a great time. The Creative Kids Club truly appreciates every donation and everyone that helped with the organization. Huge thanks to Bahaa for allowing The Creative Kids Club to have the first Glow Show at B-Side Complex.

          New Orleans Saints defensive end CAMERON JORDAN, Miami Dolphins corner-back BYRON MAXWELL and Tennessee Titans tight end DELANIE WALKER will embark on a week-long NFL-USO tour to Southwest Asia to visit U.S. troops and their families at military bases, the NFL announced today. These NFL ambassadors were selected to participate in the tour for their excellence on and off the field and charitable endeavors.  

An extension of Salute to Service, the League's year-long military appreciation campaign, this year's NFL-USO tour will feature an array of base activities from military-themed athletic competitions and unit visits to one-on-one meetings with base leadership at four locations in three countries. The players will also spend quality time with service members and their families, as well as pass out two sports-themed USO2GO kits designed to help service members in remote locations relax and recharge.
"The NFL is pleased to work with the USO on another goodwill tour and provide players with the chance to engage with service men and women. These brave individuals in uniform, who fight for our safety every day, are true heroes and represent the spirit for which our country stands," said NFL Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility ANNA ISAACSON. "The players participating in this tour are profoundly appreciative of military members and now have the chance to say 'thank you' in person."
For over 50 years, the NFL and USO have worked together to support the military and connect service members to family, home and country. In 1966, the NFL teamed with the USO and became the first sports organization to send players on a tour to Vietnam and other parts of the Far East. Since then, more than 250 NFL players, coaches and executives, including TERRY BRADSHAW, BILL COWHER, FRANCO HARRIS, LARRY FITZGERALD, LYNN SWANN and J.J. WATT, have visited troops on NFL-USO tours in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Iraq, Japan, Korea, Kuwait and Somalia. In 2008 Commissioner ROGER GOODELL became the first sports commissioner to visit the troops overseas as part of a USO tour when he visited Iraq and Afghanistan.

"The USO cannot say enough about the incredible support and generosity of the NFL over the last 51 years," said USO CEO and President J.D. CROUCH. "Their ongoing commitment as a Force Behind the Forces plays a major role in helping the USO fulfill its mission of strengthening our service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country. We are proud to work with the NFL on yet another entertainment tour, and look forward to bringing smiles and a piece of home to the many service members stationed in Southwest Asia."  
In addition to overseas morale-building visits, the NFL has supported several different USO projects through Salute to Service, and earlier this year, announced a $5M commitment to the USO over the next three years to support the expansion and refurbishment of USO centers and programming.

CAMERON JORDAN (New Orleans Saints)

Cameron Jordan anchored the defensive line in his fifth NFL season, recording 61 tackles (40 solo), 10 sacks for a total loss of 67 yards, seven passes defensed, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries and was selected to his second career Pro Bowl. His 10 sacks tied for 15th in the NFL. It marked the second time in his career that he's posted at least 10 takedowns, making him just the ninth Saint with multiple double-digit sack seasons. Jordan also tied for ninth in the league in defensive fumble recoveries. An explosive and physical defensive end, the former University of California standout possesses the combination of size, speed and strength to play defensive end in either a 3-4 or 4-3 alignment. Jordan has appeared in 80 games with 79 starts, posting career totals of 327 stops (188 solo), 39 quarterback takedowns, 25 passes defensed, six forced fumbles and eight fumble recoveries.
The son of a long-time NFL veteran, Jordan learned very early the importance of giving back. Jordan frequently spreads positive messages about the importance of literacy and character development to students in both elementary and high school throughout the school year, as well as during the Saints/United Way Annual Community Patrol Summer Camps. He is the designated LIVE UNITED player representing the Saints and the United Way of Southeast Louisiana.  As the key spokesman of the Saints/Copeland's Kids Club, he hosts a football skills camp every year for all members and helps to promote the NFL's PLAY 60 message through various initiatives, but most often, via team-sponsored Junior Training Camps and Playworks Louisiana visits. 
Jordan also has a special place in his heart for all events related to uplifting the New Orleans community and practicing goodwill during the holiday season by participating in team turkey giveaways and Christmas gift giveaways. Year-round, he never hesitates to volunteer for any hospital visit, military initiative, or health-related initiatives such as Breast Cancer awareness visits.  

BYRON MAXWELL (Miami Dolphins)

   Byron Maxwell was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade from Philadelphia in March 2016 and was originally drafted by the Seahawks in 2011. In 2016 he started 13 games and recorded 53 tackles (43 solo), two interceptions, 15 passes defensed and four forced fumbles. He was second in the NFL among defensive backs with four forced fumbles and tied for 13th in the league with 15 passes defensed. His 15 passes defensed this season are the most by a Dolphins player since 2008 (Andre Goodman).
A native of North Charleston, S.C., Maxwell dedicates a significant amount of time and resources to his community through Maxwell's Way, a foundation serving area residents. The foundation's mission is to inspire lifelong learning, advance knowledge and strengthen communities. Maxwell is committed to enhancing the lives of youth and providing them with chances at upward mobility by partnering with organizations and institutions of learning. In addition to actively serving his hometown, Maxwell is a pillar of the Miami community, regularly partaking in Dolphins community events. This past Thanksgiving, he and fellow teammates teamed with Publix to host students from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach countries to shop for Thanksgiving meals. Additionally, Maxwell joined teammates and Dolphins executives in the seventh edition of Dolphins Cancer Challenge, a fundraiser including 4,000 cancer fighters who joined together to tackle cancer. This year's event featured the largest turnout of participants in its history and raised funds for cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.

DELANIE WALKER (Tennessee Titans)

  The Titans targeted Delanie Walker early in the 2013 free agency period to bring physicality, versatility and leadership to the offense. He has delivered that and more, becoming one of the NFL's top play-making tight ends. The tight end brings a unique element to the offense and poses match-up problems for defenses with his ability to line up in the backfield, on the line, in the slot and as a wideout. The 6-foot-2-inch, 248-pounder spent the first seven years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers after being selected in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft. His first three seasons in Tennessee arguably resulted in the best three-year stretch in franchise history by a player at his position. During that time, his 217 receptions and 2,549 receiving yards (to go with 16 touchdowns) set a franchise high for a tight end in any consecutive three-year period, and his reception and yardage totals ranked third and fourth, respectively, in the NFL in that timespan. In 2015, he set the single-season franchise records among tight ends with 94 receptions and 1,088 receiving yards, leading to his first career Pro Bowl invitation. 
Walker was named the Tennessee Titans Community Man of the Year in 2013 and 2015, due in large part to his tireless work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving. He teamed with MADD to help raise awareness of the dangers of drinking and driving after losing his aunt and uncle in a horrific accident near New Orleans after Super Bowl XLVII. The morning after San Francisco's loss to Baltimore at the Superdome, an alleged drunk driver killed Alice and Bryan Young only hours after Walker hugged Alice and Bryan at the team's postgame party. In addition to his work with MADD, Walker is an ambassador with the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office's "Booze It and Lose It" campaign. During the 2016 offseason, Walker spearheaded a benefit dinner and auction for his foundation called "Carving It Up with Delanie Walker." He also launched "Delanie Walker's Imagination Station" at Fall-Hamilton Elementary School in collaboration with Scholastic Book Fairs to provide a new fully-furnished reading room for students.

     Diddy is a father , multi award winner, artist, producer, entrepreneur, actor, innovator and the list stretches for miles. It's clear to see , he is a major figure in the industry and he's all about as the lovely Iyanla Vanzant would say " doing the work".
Manny is dedicated , focused, and vision-driven. The mogul, father, CEO, and Founder is set on making Imani Entertainment Group and unforgettable empire. His passion for achieving and being great is evident. So without further ado here is my exclusive interview with Manny Halley.

1) The Mogul Girl :  What does passion, hard work, and entertainment mean to you ?

Manny Halley : I believe my creative mind allows me to be a visionary. I always see individuals as what they can become verses where they see themselves today. I pride myself on my tremendous work ethic and flexible personality, both of which allow me to search and find alternative solutions to any challenge. "NO" is not an option in my book....    


2) The Mogul Girl : You grew up in Brooklyn. What has Brooklyn taught you that you cherish the most?

Manny Halley : Frank Sinatra sang: "If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere...." Don't fear the concrete jungle, conquer it in style. Living in Brooklyn taught me that with an outstanding work ethic and a positive mindset, there is absolutely nothing I couldn't accomplish. If I'm in bed, I'm working, my mind is going!!!!  

3) The Mogul Girl : You're responsible for the careers of a lot of artists. In turn, what have they taught you?

Manny Halley : Thank you, but I am not responsible for their careers. These artists did that themselves. I have always been honest with them, and always put them in the best possible position in order for them to be successful. I even put them first.  Booker T. Washington once said, "Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life, as by the obstacles which he/she  has overcome." Each artist has individual and unique talents and I have been able to identify their strengths to overcome their perceived obstacles. I like when they focus on being creative and let me do the business.   It's a unique marriage/Partnership.

4) The Mogul Girl : As a mogul in all aspects of the business, what are you currently working on?

Manny Halley : I am currently working with a couple of artists as well as working on my second movie, "Dutch". Working on these movies has really expanded my horizon learning every aspect of the entertainment industry. I am learning everything from the ground up and I'm excited about this new venture, I'm a Movie producer now :).......


5) The Mogul Girl : The entertainment business is serious and strategic. What is some advice you can share for people that want to enter the business?

Manny Halley :
    a. This is not an easy business. It's tough. But anything worthwhile is worth working for it and I can tell you with all sincerity and certainty, it is worth it. If it were easy, everyone would do it.

    b. Surround yourself with people of character, and always maintain your integrity and smile.

    c. This business requires a tremendous amount of work for long periods of time. It is not a get rich quick business.

    d. Have fun. Don't take yourself too seriously. Never be afraid to lose something as long as you are doing the right thing. These things will help you to stay in the business long term.


6) The Mogul Girl : I saw the post about you linking up with Teri Woods to bring "True To The Game" to the big screen. How has that experience been?

Manny Halley : Working with Teri has been incredible. Her book sold over 2 million copies worldwide. So I guess about 4 million people read it. Now, we're thrilled to bring her words, in stories still relevant today, to life on the big screen.


7) The Mogul Girl : What was your biggest dream as a kid?

Manny Halley : I always wanted to be able to provide for my parents and for my children. I dreamed of being in control of my own destiny and I always wanted to make a difference in this world. I am blessed and grateful that as an entrepreneur, I am able to utilize my talents to make it happen. I'm a people person, God gave me that gift. If you know me you'll know how big my heart is and how I will always find a positive out of any situation.

   "My girlfriends there through thick and thin. My girlfriends there for anything."  Remember that theme song sung by Angie Stone for the TV show "Girlfriends"? I loved that show. I wish they would reboot a show like that , or make a movie don't you?  I watched that show all the time after school and I admired that they were always there for each other no matter what. However these days not only do we not hang together as much but we need to stop tagging each other on social media or quick text messages that half us are too distracted to answer and just call up our girlfriends. Remember when you and your closest friends use to talk on the phone for a while about everything? Nowadays our trust factors are super-low, our schedules are packed, and sending a quick emoji in response is much faster . These days there's so much going on in our lives and the lives of everyone around us that we barely talk and keep things to ourselves . A lot of us portray an image that everything is okay even when it's not. Not realizing your friend could shed some light or maybe be able to help you.
      The media, magazines, and the internet is always telling us women how we should be , what we should look like, etc but in reality all that matters is that you are healthy, happy, and free. We as women not only are judged by others but we judge ourselves. That has to stop. We really have to love ourselves and each-other.
      Everyone thinks being solo is cool, and riding alone is what's new. God didn't put billions of people on this earth for that. Ladies we flip out when guys say wrong things about us but celebrate when we do it. That's backwards. We shouldn't be tearing each other down. We should be building each other up. Yes, we go through things with friends ( I don't think there's any perfect friendship) and sometimes you have to speak on it hunty.
      So I created this playlist on Tidal entitled "Call Up My Girlfriends" . It features 60 songs from some very inspirational artist about various topics to inspire and uplift you. Sometimes we have to call up our girlfriends for advice  about hair, clothes, work , a guy , chat about what's going on , or just see how they're doing. There's also tracks on here for the things you don't talk to your friends about ( as I said before you don't have to tell them everything).  Kevin Hart has shared his pain , shared his story, and shared his gifts and talents with the world. As a history breaker he holds the spot as the highest paid comedian. Whether you are watching him live on stage, the big screen, television, or his personal social media pages, you are bound to be inspired and get a laugh from the multi talented father, husband, business man, actor, and comedian Kevin Hart. I'm born and raised in Philly too so it's always and honor to see one of us make it big from the 215. Last year I thought that it would be really cool if Philadelphia gave Kevin Hart had his own day on his birthday and I tweeted it on Twitter in 2016. I called it #HartKDay ( you know as a pun on words Hart is his last name but  heart equals love... and his name is Kevin as in show love to Kevin Hart... lol I'm not the comedian but you get me ...anyways) . You all know I'm all about speaking things into existence. So I  thought about how much Kevin Hart has given back to the city and how he still shows love and never forgets his roots, I figured that should be honored at some point. So today councilman David O, announced  that "Kevin Hart Day" will be on July 6th Kevin Hart's birthday. He said "Kevin is a great ambassador so we want to show him gratitude" according to CBS3. Yay!!! That's a win for Kevin and for Philly. I'm just excited that this is happening for him, he definitely deserves to be celebrated. Now I'll just speak into existence that I get to interview Kevin Hart next.

  Wale's upcoming fifth studio album "SHiNe" is set to release soon. This week the 206 MMG lyricist collaborated with 305 DJ Luna to release a compilation of his songs called "Before I Shine" on Hot New Hip Hop . The project  under Wale's "Every Blue Moon" group features creative, supreme, and odic tracks. Wale hops the beats and effortlessly flows. The 11 track project features "Black Is Gold" and his 'You Got It" freestyle. The compilation  also features artist Eric Bellinger, Afro B, and Sneakbo.

Jason Derulo just served up the official video for "Swalla" ft Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. In the last 24 hours "Swalla" produced by Ricky Reed is the #1 fastest growing song. The smash hit according to Nicki Minaj's Instagram is the #1 most added song to rhymic radio and #4 most added to Top 40. Talk about turning up for the summer. Swalla has quickly become addictive since it's release and now the video shot by Gil Green is here. From Jason Derulo's vocals, to Ty Dolla $ign laid back up-vibes, to the Queen Nicki Minaj lit verse "Swalla" is fresh and fire. The video is colorful, flashy , and definitely shows off lots of flavor. The video also showcases some custom Jason Derulo treats such as Derulo Orange Soda, Derulo Daddy, and a few others.   Omarion is gearing up to release his fifth studio album "Reasons". His single "Distance" has a pop-dance vibe that makes you want to dance . He filmed his official video for the song  in South Africa . Omarion's real name is "Omari" which means [God the highest] in Swahili. So he traveled miles away from home to incorporate the beautiful scenery  as well as the beautiful culture of South Africa  in his video. His second song "Bdy On Me" has that smooth, party, fly, rocking Omarion feels that we all like. So Omarion has some heat coming on this upcoming album.   Enchanting and a tale as old as time. The live-action remake of the animated fairy tale "Beauty And The Beast" debuts in theaters on March 17,2017. I attended a media only showing of the film a few weeks ago and let's just say I sat in the theater in awe. To see one of my child-hood favorite movies come to life on the big screen was so  exciting. I enjoyed the cinematography, costumes, and splendid set changes. Despite a few differences the director Bill Condon and the entire cast worked tirelessly to make the 2 hour and nine minute film. 
   The music for the film is wondrous and it definitely added to the awe and excitement of the film. One of my favorite scene features the song "Be Our Guest" . You will definitely laugh and smile while watching the movie. So will you be a guest this weekend at the theaters? Beauty And The Beast are waiting.

What an absolute surprise ? John Legend and Ariana Grande released their video for "Beauty And The Beast " from the new live version of the "Beauty And The Beast" movie. The original song is written by Howard Ashman and composed by Alan Meenken . Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson performed the award winning  chart topping song in 1991.  John Legend and Ariana are vocally magical together . The video is directed by  Dave Meyers and its absolutely beautiful. Ron Fair produced their song. Ariana and John are more than enchanting. Their version of the song is magnificent and marvelous.
