Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you , declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". One things for sure, Savion Wright definitely has a bright and successful future. This young performer's heart warming smile and astonishing talent beamed beyond the stars on this thirteenth season of American Idol .His story, his passion , and his creativity instantly drew you into his world. So check out my exclusive interview with Savion Wright . His story is proof that when you believe you can achieve great things no matter what. 1. What was your favorite song to listen to growing up? My favorite song while growing up was "Change the World" by Eric Clapton. He's the artist who has inspired me the most. 2. Where's your favorite place to eat in Texas? I love Barbecue! So, I have a couple of places I like to eat . Two in particular: Billy's Barbecue in my hometown of Jasper, Tx, and secondly Chopped Beef sandwiches from this family owned gas station in Woodville, Texas. Best chopped beef sandwiches I've ever had! Other than that, I live for my mother's cooking ANY DAY! 3.Everybody faces challenges throughout life, what challenges have you overcome? One of the biggest challenges as an artist is believing in yourself. I had a real struggle because I had so much to look up to because all of my siblings are musically talented. So, I had to come into the realization that I am my own self and it's not about being the greatest, it's about being the best at being you! My brother Alfred (who was murdered) always told me to DO YOU and I live by that standard. 4. If your music was a college course what would you call it and what would you want your class to learn? I'd call my music course "AAA", which stands for Adult Album Alternative. Which is the genre I consider myself. I have a mixture of so many genres that I grew up on as a child and incorporate a lot of that in my own music. I've been told from people that I remind them of John Mayer, Bob Dylan, Sting, Eric Clapton Stevie Wonder and many other artists in my songwriting . I really take that to heart ,it's a testament to this day and age. Many artists incorporate different genres in their music. You have Pop-Country with Taylor Swift, Acoustic-Soul with Ed Sheeran, and Blues-Pop-Rock with John Mayer it's almost inevitable these days. 5. So far what has been your all time favorite performance ? My favorite performance of all time has been performing my original "Breathing Underwater" on American Idol. I tend to put my heart and soul into EVERY song I write. That particular song meant a lot to me because it's about the murder/death of my brother and I'm so glad that I got to perform it in his honor. 6. What's your biggest dream for your family? First, I'd like for my brother's killer to be found and punished under the US system. I just want everyone in my family to be happy, and financially stable. That's all I wish. 7.Do you have a favorite quote or saying whether its one of your own or somebody else's? "Life is funny. Things change, people change, but you will always be you. So stay true to yourself and never sacrifice who you are for anyone." 8. What else are you interested in besides music? I'm a techie! I love the newest electronic devices. I love Marvel comic books as well. 9. For people whom might not know who Savion Wright is, how did you learn how to play so many instruments and sing? I grew up on music so there was a yearning to learn more .After I learned how to really play the first one (guitar). I was hooked and I had to learn more. 10.What does hard work mean to you ? My father always said "whether the task is large or small, do it well or not at all." I try to live by that principle everyday in my life. My father had a lawn care business, and every weekend he would put us to work. He wanted to teach us that with hard work you can do whatever you put your mind to, and I'm still thankful for that to this day. 11.Is there anything special you want readers to know about you Savion ? I want everyone to know that you can buy my first EP "Breathing Underwater" on iTunes (smarturl.it/savionbu), Amazon (smarturl.it/savionep), or Google Play (smarturl.it/savionplay). Hopefully you'll get to see me touring in a city near you in the future! Also, be sure to watch American Idol season 14, you may see someone trying out again. Follow @SavionJWright on Twitter . I enjoyed interviewing Savion so much. My heart goes out to him and his family and I hope justice is served for the lost of his brother.

Love, electrifying music, soul, and good vibes filled The Dell in Philadelphia on July 17.The arena was full of smiles, dancing, and happiness as the sounds of Mr.Anthony Hamilton, Babyface, and Robert Glasper filled the air .
The neo-soul, hip hop artist Robert Glasper was the opening act for the show. He rocked out on his keytar as he performed some of his songs off "Robert Glasper Experiment Black Radio" album . After his jazzed up set , the lovely host of 105.3 WDAS Ms.Patty Jackson stepped on stage to make a few announcements. The audience tuned in as she informed that this would be the first time that Babyface ever performed at The Dell and he'd be on stage in a few minutes. The sold out arena cheered wildly at the special "first-ever" news. Ms.Patty Jackson also took the time to show some love to the beautiful Ms.Mimi Brown whom is celebrating 35 years in radio at 105.3 WDAS (Congratulations) !!! After her segment Dj.Gary O was playing all the old school jams on the 1's and 2's , the audience was definitely having a party. All of a sudden the band was done setting up , the Dj's music faded, the lights got dim, it was time. The announcer introduced "Kenny Babyface Edmonds" to The Dell . The crowd went into an absolute frenzy. BabyFace stood there behind the mic in all of his amazing glory for a few seconds . Let's just say I as well as many others were in absolute heaven. Then he broke out into the 1993 hit "For The Cool In You". The audience instantly started jamming right along as Babyface sang and dance. The iconic Babyface put on an absolutely incredible show. He sang "Everytime I Close My Eyes" (my favorite) , "Slow Jam" and a medley of other songs he wrote for other artist such as "Can We Talk" , "Every Little Step" "End Of The Road" and more. During his performance of "End of The Road" Babyface stepped off the stage and came into the audience and the crowd got so excited. He went from one side of The Dell to the other. I think the fans were quite surprised that Babyface was so close to them. After a quick suit change Babyface performed "Whip Appeal" and the ladies loved every second of it. Babyface is truly a phenomenal man and his first-ever performance at The Dell was spectacular. DJ Gary O was back on The 1's ad 2's . Ms.Patty Jackson came to the stage again to introduce Mr.Anthony Hamilton. Mr.Anthony Hamilton's band stepped out on stage and turned up. Mr.Anthony Hamilton performed "Charlene" "Comin From Where I'm From" , "I'll Wait", "Point Of It All", "Can't Let Go", "Amazing" and few other favorites. Anthony Hamilton his band, and his background singers definitely took the audience to North Carolina as he called it "The Dirty Dirty". Mr.Anthony Hamilton definitely brought the soul, the church, and the south to the stage. When he performed "Comin From Where I'm From" , it brought me back to my middle school days, I was 12 years old when that song came out and I use to love when the video came on TV. At 22, it was such an amazing moment to see him perform it live. His background singers and his band definitely kicked it out on stage as well. Those country boys can sang. Goodness!! It was a great night and truly a beautacious evening at The Dell watching such a fantastic men perform. Malala Yousafazai is changing the world.
