Cowboy Beebop is definitely one of Philly's illest young MC's . From his versatility to crush beats to his clever and eloquent vocabulary , he is guaranteed to draw you into his zone. Cowboy Beebop has released songs on his soundcloud as well as a few solo projects including "Dear Jane" and "SATURDAY". His flow is very unique and his lyrics are authentic. He has a style and creativity that is needed in the music scene. You can't just listen to one of his songs, you definitely have to play a couple more . Cowboy Beebop's music gives off that intelligent, productive, chill, celebration, yet still hood, prepared for good things in the future, relative, I love my family and supporters, type of vibe. All in all his ability to combine numerous vibes in multiple songs is for sure what relates to his fans and the streets. Cowboy Beebop deserves recognition for his dedication to his dreams and his passion for music . So check out my exclusive interview with him below. 1. The Mogul Girl : What made you love music ? Cowboy Beebop : I've been in love with music since the womb. My mom and pop actually met at a rap contest at the community center at 27th and Daulphin. My mom won the competition and my pop won her.So I feel like I never got a chance to fall in love with music .It just was always there, like a apart of me. 2.) The Mogul Girl : Who or what inspires you ? Cowboy Beebop : I'm a very aesthetic person. I see the beauty in all forms of art. Rather it be visually or sonically. I go to art museums, plays, concerts, dance offs etc.., I draw inspiration from all these different outlets. That's why all my projects are conceptual. Cause I draw from these things then re-interpret them through my music. Far as a person Kid Cudi . He's the complete artist. 3.) The Mogul Girl : Favorite lyrics from a song of yours ? Cowboy Beebop : "Get Free". A song from my mixtape called "Saturday." I say "Mama tell me face-time/but I never take time/I be on a straight grind/Girl I gotta make mine/She don't never judge me cause she love me like I'm Fazon/She just scared to lose me to the system like Trayvon" . I was basically saying that I been working so hard that I barely have the time to deal with anyone on a social level, not even my mother. Also explaining how my mother was afraid for me because of all the police violence toward black folks at the time. 4.) The Mogul Girl : Is it anything you want your fans to know ? Cowboy Beebop : I miss they (***) lol . I'm sick that I let them down . I'm going through a growth stage and I hope they're willing to go through it with me I'll be hone soon. 5.)The Mogul Girl : How do you think you impact the game? Cowboy Beebop : I feel like I'm the bridge between the gangsters and the hipsters at least at a local level. I am the beautiful contradiction. The hood N**** who can crowd surf at Powerhouse or SXSW. The artist who's on the same wave as the Uzi's and Thuggas but can rap like the Nas and Jay-Z and get respected by the J-Prince's and Shug Knight's. 6.) The Mogul Girl : If you could work on a song with any artist who would it be and why ? Cowboy Beebop : Probably PartyNextdoor. Dude just knows how to capture a certain mood in his music. I would love to learn how to do that. Plus, I think our chemistry would be heavy, 7.)The Mogul Girl : If you could do a song with any artist who would it be and why? Cowboy Beebop : It's a documentary by Big Sean called the "Road To Hall Of Fame". It's about his creative process while he was making his second album. I watch this jawn and it bring it bring me right back. 8.)The Mogul Girl : Most cherished lesson you learned in life ? Cowboy Beebop : Most cherished lesson would be the law of attraction. When you have a clear picture of what you want and you focus and work towards it, the universe brings things in your life that help you achieve it . 9) The Mogul Girl : What does Philly mean to you ? Cowboy Beebop : It's home. I have a love/hate relationship with the city.I've been to a lot of different cities and nobody has their own swag like Philly male or female. Everywhere we go we standout. But on the negative : The city is to hard (lol) . We don't gotta be ganster all the time. We gotta learn to embrace the fact that we're all different . Some n***** are street dudes , some dudes are hipsters . It's too cliquey. 10.) The Mogul Girl : Tell me what you want listeners to gain from your music ? Cowboy Beebop : An understanding of me. My lyrics are so personal. Which I do intentionally. I want people to feel like they know me. I want my fans to be my friends , that way I'll be good no matter where I go in the world. Also if I can give some kind of insight on doing what you want with your life and not what people think you should, then I'm happy with that. 11.)The Mogul Girl : What was your dream growing up ? Cowboy Beebop : My dream was and still is to be remembered. I'm scared to die as a nobody and have death and time destroy my legacy. Shoutout to my daughters Melaysia and Milan Shout out to @EarlyBBq on Instagram , Get Free Movement , La Beinot @LilSisTho on Instagram. Although Cowboy Beebop is currently incarcerated he is missed by his family, friends, and supporters . This was a great interview and I'm glad I got this opportunity to do this interview. Thank you Flok (@Flokobama32) for the connect I appreciate it. This goes to show everyone that the Get Free Movement is real. No matter where you are you can be free to go after your dreams and let them be heard. Follow Cowboy Beebop on Instagram ( Here) Subscribe to his Soundcloud ( Here)
Big Sean recently released two new singles "No More Interviews" produced by Amaire Johnson and Sean. "Bounce Back" is produced by Metro Boomin ,Hitmaka & Smash David, Metro Boomin & Amaire Johnson. The Detroit lyricist always delivers exciting , super swagged, A1 songs . Recently he performed at the Hillary Clinton " Get Out To Vote Rally " which also featured Jay Z , Beyonce, J.Cole, and Chance The Rapper. Big Sean definitely locked down the stage with performances of his new tracks and a couple of throw backs. His career is definitely showing that one man can change the world. That no matter who you are as long as you continue to believe , you can do it all while inspiring others. The youth are the future so Big Sean started his Sean Anderson Foundation which helps Detroit youth in areas of education, safety, health, and over all well being. The foundation works with school aged and disadvantage youth from across the nation. Big Sean is a very busy guy . He's 1/2 of the duo Twenty88 with the beautiful songstress and writer Jhene Aiko . He's also the latest artist to collaborate with Adidas and Stance Socks . Big Sean is hustling to the max and doing it all it his original style and glory. So after watching Big Sean's performance the other night I tweeted the picture he took with Jay-Z and J.Cole. and he liked my Tweet. Cool right? I've always wanted to interview Big Sean because I knew it would be an inspiring, fun, and enlightening interview. Big Sean talks about reading, meditation , parts of his life, bossing up, and so much more in his music. So I know that it would be a very key interview. So when I heard his song "No More Interviews" for the first time, I instantly made up my mind, that one day I have to get that interview done. I've always been the interviewer to ask questions that would make the interviewee feel comfortable, happy, connected, and intrigued. there's no need to talk about drama or gossip when there's so many dreams , creative ideas, achievement, goals, positivity , and important topics to discuss. I believe in speaking things into existence. Big Sean holds tight to the memories of his come up , how his life changed, and making his dreams comes to pass. I'd title my interview with Big Sean "Dreams From The D" because one he's from Detroit , he reps his city, and the very dreams he had in his home town, in his high school, and in his home helped him to travel the world and become Big Sean the super-star we all know today. So when I get my chance to interview Big Sean here's what I'd ask him
1.) You read a lot. If you could describe your life as a book. What would be the title and why ? 2.) So I take it you have a new album coming out . Tell me about it but If you could go back in time and be featured on an 80's classic , which song would it be? 3.) Since starting the Sean Anderson Foundation, what has been your most cherished memory ? 4.) You're super stylish, what was it like to become a collaborator with Adidas and Stance Socks ? 5.) You've toured a lot and traveled the world. Where's you favorite place to eat? 6.) What's one lesson that you learned as a child/teen that you will never forget? 7.) Would you write your own book ? 8.) If you could president for the day , what is the first 3 things you'd do? 9.)On "No More Interviews" you say "I realize it ain't what you have, it's what you feel, that's what true success is". So what do you feel ? 10.) We all have a bounce back moment in our lives what helps you bounce back ? 11.) What have you spoken into existence ? Congratulations it's the m***** ******* chasers. The highly anticipated album "DC4" by Meek Mill released on October 27,2016 the day before he headlined Power 99's annual Powerhouse Concert here in Philly. If you follow me on Twitter it's full of Meek lyrics right now. I've been waiting for this since DWMTM (that went #1 in case you forgot) The internet is still buzzing about the DC4 and so are the charts. Yesssssss his new album is coming in at the number one spot on various charts as it should. DC4 features his queen Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Don Q, Young Thug, 21 Savage, YFN Lucci, Tracy T, Pusha T, Guordon Banks, French Montana, and Lil Snupe (R.I.P to Lil Snupe). Meek definitely took his time with this project and worked with Jahlil Beats, SR Beats, OZ,Rara, Pyro, Tarik Azzouz, Sonny Digital, Dj Ryu, Beat Bully, Butter Beats, and MP808 to name a few. The lyrics are fire, the beats are dope, and the videos to accompany the album are litty. Despite what the media says about him he doesn't quit and he continues to do his thing. So last year I dropped an article on The Mogul Minute about why 2015 was big for Meek so of course I had to drop one about 2016. So let's get in to it! 1. DC4 LIFEFirst of all , I love this album. I think Meek wanted us to really feel his story, feel his pain, be motivated , get stronger , and shine on everybody that doubted or prayed for a downfall. He chose really dope artist to feature on his album. So the versatility and creative collaborations are major. The album def has a song you're going to feel heavy. He def is letting everybody know that he's Blessed Up and that You Know he's going to keep it Litty . Blue Notes is one of my favorite songs. Again this album is Way Up on the charts we're talking #1. Now that's how you Shine On The Regular . So at the end of Tony Story 3 did you all peep the part four gone be a movie ? Maybe we might actually get a full movie style - visual for all of Tony Story. His wrist still Froze and he proudly wears his D.C. chains so we can see that s***. The Difference, Lights Out, Two Wrongs, Offended, definitely are hot tracks. So from track one to the outro "DC4Life" is straight heat. 2. HIS SON PAPI STARTED KINDERGARTEN Meek posted this picture of Papi on Instagram in celebration of him starting Kindergarten. That definitely is a big moment to be proud of. It's good to see this. Meek is a proud dad before anything and he is happy to give his son the opportunities and the life he didn't have. 3. MEEK AND NICKI STILL LIVE TOGETHER !!!On "Froze" Nicki said "Meek and I still live together" and Meek told Noisey Raps in a recent interview that " I wake up in my bed and I just look at Nicki , like man this sh*t has gotta be a dream because we used to dream all this sh*t and it's just going on right now ". So haters might as well give it up , they winnnnn! Both Nicki and Meek had another successful year. Nicki covered Marie Claire magazine and did a very heart felt interview about her career , her life, being a boss, girl power, her upcoming TV series, Yonce and Jay-Z, and how black women also carry the weight of racism and murders of husbands and boyfriends. Nicki also released her eighth fragrance Trini Girl. These two have been putting in work as always . You can't help but be proud of that!! Ouuuuuuuuuuuuu! 4. MEEK RELEASED HIS NEW DREAMCHASER COLLECTION SNEAKER "BLAZE OF GLORY AND BASKET " WITH PUMAMeek's "Blaze Of Glory And Basket" sneaker collaboration with Puma released in July. The sneaker launch was held at Foot Locker in the Roosevelt Mall in Philly. Meek signed autographs and took pics with the supporters that came out to see the debut of the sneaker inspired by Philly and Bike Life. 5. MEEK WAS FEATURED ON THE SOUNDTRACK FOR BIRTH OF A NATIONThe song "Black Moses" by Pusha T ,Meek Mill, and Priscilla Renea is featured on the soundtrack. The track is one of sixteen songs that add a musical story to the importance of Nate Parker's film. The track idiscusses slavery, fighting for freedom, injustice, incarceration, and believing in God to handle it. The soundtrack features major artist and all of them helped to make a project and create perfect songs for such a powerful film. 6. HE DROPPED A LITTY FREESTYLE ON FUNK FLEXThe freestyle said it all! He ripped this. 7. MOTIVATIONMeek puts on for Philly. He's chasing his dreams and living them at the same time. He work hard it's evident. So it's obvious that all you gotta do is not give up . No matter what people say as long as you believe in yourself and stay focused , you can do anything! I had to drop this article. Make sure you read last years article if you all haven't yet. http://www.themogulminute.com/the-mogul-girl-trade/the-mogul-minute-5-reasons-why-2015-was-big-for-meek-mill-the-mogul-girl |
