Model: Max Allen THE MOGUL MINUTE : U DID IT !! CHRIS BROWN "ROYALTY" IS PROOF YOU ARE KING ( THE MOGUL GIRL)12/20/2015
Wow! Wow! Wow! Celebration time! Chris Brown released his seventh album "ROYALTY". I still remember dragging my dad to FYE to get "Chris Brown" the debut album in 2005 . For months we've awaited this album although CB dropped his singles "Liquor" and "Zero" and then gave us a fire mixtape "Before The Party" in November ". So the anticipation continued to grow for the album. Now that it's here , we're all ready to buy our tickets to the tour. Chris definitely has no filter on the 18 track album. CB has been very open on social media about his life and how he feels and one thing is for sure he didn't hold anything back on the album. First let me say I purchased "ROYALTY" on iTunes and I kept it on repeat all night. It was literally 3 AM and I'm hitting the dab to "Wrist", I was so turned up. The album literally has a song for every emotion. Whether we're in love, not in love, partying, not worrying about haters, stunting on haters, showing our transformation, kicking back with our day ones, being thankful, letting go, trust, being strong, or realizing that things aren't the same. Chris literally made "Royalty" our reality. Chris Brown put his heart in this album and he also showed the critics or people that don't like him that he doesn't care and that he's doing him to the fullest unfiltered. The album is just what we needed! His song "Little More" (Royalty) which he recorded for his beautiful baby girl "Royalty" is exactly that, beautiful. The whole album is fire. So the nominations for all the music award shows are adding him in now right? They better! He definitely deserves it. Chris Brown is a legend whether the media etc recognizes or not. He continuously works and gives us phenomenal music and real artistry. Speaking of artistry "Make Love" just takes you there, It's just one of those classic kind of R&B songs. You know the ones that came on the radio that one of our parents turned up to the max and danced to. Yeah that song alone is epic. Chris I picture you rollin in tons of awards for this super-hot album. Vocally and lyrically Chris Brown aced every song. The beats are hot and all together "ROYALTY" is just fantastic. Tupac said once in an interview " You can't be a king until you made yourself until you've done something and I've accomplished my goals. My goals that set out to make me a man. Now that I'm a man I set out goals to make me a king. Not a king anybody else but me nobody else is under my rule but me and my kids. I made myself a king so I need a queen to be happy so I can be a teacher and father." Indeed Chris Brown has definitely accomplished his goals and he has tons more to accomplish. Remember this is his seventh album. He has branded himself and made himself successful in every lane he ventures of too. As a man he's solid! CB has created numerous award winning projects but his biggest creation is his daughter Royalty whom he loves and said "she makes him better and stronger". So all in all Chris Brown is KING! "ROYALTY" is proof! You did it Chris Brown congratulation on everything from fatherhood to all your upcoming awards and just for being one of the greatest artist of all time. I love this album and "Blow It In The Wind" is definitely a song about transformation and maturing to the point that what others say doesn't matter. That you've overcame and that you are still shining regardless. For sure one of my favorite tracks. "ROYALTY" the album is onitunes and in stores world wide Not only is the album just incredible but so our the videos. Huge shoutout to Riveting Entertainment . #ROYALTY
2015 was a big year for Philly signed MMG rapper
Meek Mill. Meek worked super hard this year and it's clear that he's ready to do it even bigger in 2016. With his own label and brand Dreamchasers. He has his hands in multiple things such as music, apparel , and I'm sure he's working on other things that he hasn't announced yet. So check out the five reasons below why 2015 was BIG for Meek Mill 1. #1 ALBUM
Meek Mill's second album "Dreams Worth More Than Money" was number 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip Hop charts. The album was packed with catchy metaphors and hard lyrics. Meek Mill discussed numerous situations about his come up and success on the 14 track project. The album had hot features and needless to say his single "All Eyes On You" featuring Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown was ranked highly on numerous music charts. The album was fire and his fans and supporters definitely felt it. You can read my full review (here).
2. SCORED A DEAL WITH PUMA
Meek Mill landed a deal with PUMA as the ambassador and curator of the #PumaLife Collection.
Remember on Meek Mill's song "The Trillest" he said "Couldn't get a pair of PUMAS we up in the store now". Literally he is. I have to say it's really cool to walk into a sneaker store and see a giant poster of Meek styling and profiling with his PUMA collection. The collection is really dope. For more info check it out here http://us.puma.com/en_US/sports/ambassadors/meek-mill 3. PARTNERED DREAMCHASERS WITH LIDS
Everyone knows Meek rocks some really cool hats. He also wears his custom "DC (Dream Chasers) chains in every city so you can see that S***. Well the boss of Dream Chasers linked with LIDS to put his custom badge on hats. So now you all can rock a DreamChasers hat too. You can purchase them
http://www.lids.com/Dream-Chasers 4. FEATURED ON THE SOUNDTRACK FOR "CREED"
Meek Mill kicked off his PowerHouse performance in Philly with his single "Lord Knows" and a dance from his son Papi. Meek's songs "Lord Knows" and "Check" are featured in "CREED" the biggest movie of the year. "CREED" produced by the incredible Ryan Coogler and starring the phenomenal Michael.B.Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Sylvester Stallone, and Phylicia Rashad was filmed in Philly. So featuring Philly artist Meek Mill twice on the soundtrack for the film was perfect. "Lord Knows" also features Tory Lanez. So having two songs in the biggest movie of 2015 is BIG time.
5. HE'S DATING NICKI MINAJ
All eyes were definitely on Meek and Nicki Minaj aka "Omeeka" this year. The power couple did their thing this year. Both of them worked hard separately but they also are a force together. Their affection and love for each other can't be denied. You can't miss the chemistry . Those million dollar smiles are gleaming from ear to ear. The couple rocked every performance and they made hot records together.
"All Eyes On You" which features Chris Brown and "Bad For You" were both hot records on "Dreams Worth More Than Money". So yeah Meek Mill is dating the beautifully talented Queen Nicki Minaj. Do you see the way they look at each other? Yeah I guess that's what happens when you put the realest and the baddest together.
So as you can see 2015 was big for Meek Mill so stay tuned to his Instagram to see what he's up to next @MeekMill
The years not over yet either we still have 25 days left. If you look at people that's successful they never really follow the pattern that everybody feels they have to go by -Dewey Da Don My favorite song from the "Killa City State Of Mind" mixtape by Urban Republic is 'Distorted Portraits". The song is definitely food for thought. Dewey and Novacain have diverse paths of their own but they've collaborated to create conscious and heart felt music. Both young men were born and raised in Kansas and they're going hard for their city. Currently they've moved to Atlanta for more opportunities . They are making moves in the industry as well as their personal lives. Dewey Da Don is Usher's protege and the Ambassador of Usher's "New Look Foundation". Dewey has inspired tons of youth with his story and that they are their own individual no matter what people say or where they are from. Dewey and Novacain continue to reach their goals. Their newest project "From Atlanta With Love" releases in 2016. I interviewed "Urban Republic" so check out what they had to say below. 1.) The Mogul Girl : Dewey you posted an Instagram post with the caption "My passion is my purpose so I let it lead me. How are both of you letting your passion lead you at this point in your life? Dewey Da Don: I have learned that a great leader wears many different hats. I set up all my passions to be a revolving door so that no matter when I'm doing something its always feeding into what I ultimately want to do. My three biggest buckets would be music, business and philanthropy. So ultimately it would be just that. I just really set myself up so that everyday I'm surrounded by what I want to do. I do what I love which is music, service, and business. Also always keeping in mind that this right now is not the future. That I have to grind. Grind until it make sense to everyone because it makes sent to me. So I just have to grind to get the results that I need to translate to everyone else. Novacaine: Just keeping the music at the forefront. With music we can be going through things in our personal life and we always say "When we get on or when we get to that point". So we make decisions that will help our future. We just let music carry us. 2.) The Mogul Girl : So you guys are doing something with the Usher New Look Foundation on October 22, 2015 at the Leadership Academy .Can you tell me a little bit about what's going on that day in Brooklyn? Dewey Da Don : I'm kicking off my orientation with my children. This is our 3rd year of representing in Brooklyn. I was afforded a promotion. I took on the responsibility of being the Atlanta coordinator and New York coordinator. Now I've gotten a few promotions however Brooklyn is near and dear to my heart. Brooklyn is my favorite city in New York. My youngest daughter's name is Brooklyn. That's how much that community means to me. Just because of the youth that I've worked with. The orientation is to bring new freshmen on board as well as acclimating our sophomores and juniors. We just want to give them new information and update them on things throughout the year. For example job settling and mentor/ mentee opportunities. We'll also have four panelist that will speak from different perspectives and pillars that we serve which our talent, education, career, and service. We have Tracey G from Sway In The Morning to come and speak so it's going to be lit. So I get to fellowship with my children.I love Brooklyn, I love the kids out there, it's a lot of potential and opportunities out there 3.) You guts have recorded a lot of music. What's one of your favorite songs of your own? Novacain : Probably are song "What You Know About It". That song has so much substance and pain in it. Everytime I listen to it. I keep it on repeat. I just sit and reflect. It brings tears to my eyes.I remember Dewey called me one morning and was like you been through a lot. He was very emotional and tearful. Just for him to do that and invoke the same emotion from that song is definitely why that's one of my favorite songs. Dewey Da Don : That song you should go check it out because it cosigns the story were trying to tell. That song means a lot because "I watched my brother suffer" . It was pain in there because I saw him growing as an individual, as a man, as a leader, and a rapper. One of my favorite songs is "Daddy's Little Girl" . Early on I was very transparent with my music even in high school. I mean like my chick broke up with me and I just put it on a track. So major life events and all that were expressed through my music. So when my daughter got taken away from me for a year, so the only way I could communicate with her was through music. I'm not going to let any type of barrier keep me from speaking to my daughter. Whether it was through YouTube or Facebook . She's not going to have the feeling I abandoned her. I'm not going to have that impression. I wasn't going to allow that. That's one of my near and dear songs because I encapsulated a very painful moment in my life. I turned that pain to power.I used that as motivation to try and reach my daughter. Overall, I'm cheating because I'm saying two it would have to be "Distorted Portraits" . It has been the trial of our life.We make so much diverse music and we're good at everything we do. I don't want to toot my own horn. People tell us we're good at everything we do when we do it. So its like people want to box us in and the song is about that. Don't box us in! We have our own plan and goal. We have to be who we see ourselves as not how everyone sees us. Distorted Portraits is you see the picture its right in front of you but you don't get it . Its up to us to make that vision clear. When our visions unify we can create change and power. It takes a cooperative effort to make anything happen. So its going to take everyone to help us get that platform. So we can continue to do the work it takes everybody. I appreciate Dewey Da Don keeping it G-Real! Telling his story and speaking on the importance of grinding, being confident in your craft, branding yourself, and not letting doubters stop you from what you believe in. Novacain and Dewey Da Don both spoke on the importance of turning pain into power. I really appreciated their openness and their charisma is the interview. Make sure you get their mixtape "Killa City State Of Mind" (Here) Dewey Da Don Twitter @IAmTheDon Instagram@DeweyDaDon Novacain Twitter :@Novacain007 Instagram :@ Novacain007 |
