Do you remember watching old films and seeing people gather around to listen to shows on the radio? TV and computers have provided a way for us to watch films, music videos, television shows and more. However,  the ten-part audio drama BRONZEVILLE written by Josh Olson and historical consultant was Michael Theobald brings back the nostalgia of listening to show rather than watching it. . The following actors and actresses are  apart of the series : Laurence Fishburn , Larenz Tate, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick, Tracee Ellis Ross, Wood Harris, Lahmard Tate, Cory Hardict, Brittany Snow, Lance Reddick, Patrick Heusinger, Michael Raymond James, Affion Crockett, Charles Malik Whitfield, Dexter Darden, John Bishop, Alphonso McAuley , Fay Hauser, Mitch Tanner, Eric Sheffer Stevens , Arlen Escarpeta, Wren . T. Brown , Peter Mackenzie, Ella Joyce, Andra Fuller, Paul Wilson, Rodney Saulsberry, Kelley Jackley, Barry Shabaka Henley, John Lavelle,  Cleo King, Robert Parks Valletta, Christopher Frontiero, Adriana Sheri, Kevin Brief, Christopher Frontiero, Adriana Sheri, Jim Meskimen , Kevin Brief,  Christopher Frontiero, Adrianna Sheri, Jim Meskimen, Kevin Brief,  Christopher Douglas Reed, Erica Shukrani Luttrell, Ben Bledsoe , Elizabeth June ,John Cothran Jr, Brandon Scott, Beth Maitlaind , Phillip Hersh , and Marcus T. Paul .
The men and women listed above lent their voices to be apart of a very intriguing and artistic drama.  Bronzeville is a Cinema Gypsy Productions, TateMen Entertainment and Audio HQ production project. Executive producers Laurence Fishburne, Larenz Tate, Helen Sugland, LaRon Tate, Matt Cutair and Jeff McCarthy , Co-Executive Producers are JP Sarni and Lahmard Tate and produced by Kc Wayland.
Once you start listening to the series you won't want to tune out. I think this is a unique digital podcast that takes the listeners on a journey through the lives of of African Americans on the Southside of Chicago in the 1940's . It chronicles black players in the lottery games while illuminating the self-sustainability of the community’s African American residents . It consist of racial tension yet shows how this particular community attained the American dream. Bronzeville immersed the listeners into a historical yet entertaining series. As Larenz Tate said " Bronzeville is theater of the mind".  I as well as so many listeners are hoping for a season two or for the audio podcast to become an actual TV series or a feature film . With the amazing team that The TateMen Entertainment, Audio HQ Productions, and Cinema Gypsy Production companies, a movie or an TV show would be epic. However, this version of the audio series has created an old time feel in a modern day world. where everything is visual. This series causes you to imagine, listen closely , and visualize with your mind. For more on the Bronzeville series and to listen to the episodes get over to www.bronzevilleseries.com . Congratulations to the the writer, production team , and all of the talent that brought this audio drama series to life. You never know what's next , so make sure you stay tuned into social media as well as the Bronzeville website for updates.
