The film starring Dakota Johnson as "Anastasia Steele" and Jamie Dornan as "Christian Grey" is completely intriguing and you don't want to miss any of this dazzling yet steamy thrill ride full of twist and turns directed by James Foley and written by Niall Leonard . I attended a private screening of the film and let's just say its quite a sensuous and enthralling. The cast also includes Rita Ora, Robinne Lee, Isabella Heathcote, and Victor Rasuk to name a few. THE MOGUL MINUTE : "YOU" SHOULD KNOW OSHEA IS THE 1 ( THE MOGUL GIRL INTERVIEW WITH OSHEA)11/24/2015
Have you ever been miles away from the beach yet you can still hear the ocean’s waves? You could feel the breeze? You could smell the fresh air ? And then all of sudden you become ecstatic because you’re getting closer and closer to a powerful, boundless destination. Finally you are face to face as you step into the abyss. Remember there’s no turning back once your submerged under the wave of Oshea.
Singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer “Oshea” of Douglasville, GA is currently causing big waves across the globe. His single “YOU” off of of his EP “YOU” (produced by XL Eagle) is one of the most colossal R&B songs of 2015. Oshea’s talent, artistry, brilliance, and finesse can not be denied. This young king is hungry, on his grind, and ready for the world to see him make it big time. Oshea definitely has was it takes. His vocals and lyrics are straight fire no chaser , impassioned , true, and sincere. As a singer and rapper his versatility and ability to transition between the two on a track is so smooth and boss. Once you listen to just a few lines of any song or watch a couple seconds of his video you are instantly drawn in to his story. Its so easy to become addicted to his music and become so excited for what’s coming next. Its true things are only going to get brighter, better, and more mogul for Oshea. Greatness is evident. His come up is strong! His music is exciting. He is a bold blessing to the world of music. His video “YOU” debut on VEVO on October 14, 2015 and it’s set to premiere on MTV soon. His diversity, uniqueness, drive is going to take him beyond his wildest dreams . He’s putting his heart and his all into his music . He grinds not only an artist but as a dancer, director, and producer. After listening to his music and watching his videos of course I had to reach out to him for an exclusive interview for The Mogul Minute. I had an awesome time interviewing him. He speaks with such peace and prosperity as he said on his song “Come Up” he also is very serious, honest, and humorous. You should definitely purchase his “YOU” EP on iTunes , you all know I purchased mine. Again Oshea is an amazing artist and I’m super excited for the great things that are on the horizon for him. Currently he is working on his upcoming mixtape “Oshean View” . So check out my interview with Oshea and make sure you get on board because his wave is extreme , you don’t want to miss it. 1.)The Mogul Girl : So it’s said that people with the name Oshea are drawn to the arts . What made you want to get into music? Oshea : Well my middle name is “Oshea”. That’s my government middle name. I played basketball all the way up until 11th grade. I started rapping in 8th grade and I started singing in 11th grade. What made me do music is I played football with this one boy when I was in 8th grade. He told me “I got a studio at my house come over” . I’ll never forget it. I went to his house and heard my voice come back through the speaker and I just fell in love with music right there. I never had plans on making it I just was a fan of music. After that day I was like this is something I have to do. Its just a different feeling that came over me. 2.) The Mogul Girl : What’s you favorite place to eat in Douglasville,GA and what’s your favorite thing to eat there? Oshea : American Deli and Applebees . At American Deli I get the same thing every time. Now when I walk in they don’t even ask for my order. They just go head and ring it up. I get the 5 piece Teriyaki with the lemon pepper mix, you know. Then you sprinkle that lemon pepper on the fries with the sweet tea lemonade . Best meal ever. At Applebees I get the won-ton tacos with a basket of fries. 3.) The Mogul Girl : So tell me how your “YOU” EP came along? Oshea : I was doing a lot of R&B before that. So me an XL Eagle, I grew up with him. He’s the one that produced the whole EP. He lives right next door to me. We started making music around the same time. Before that I was doing a lot of R&B stuff and I wanted to switch up my sound . The title came from me just finding me. With me just finding me I felt like it was something everybody else could relate to. So I named it “YOU” like its for you and it’s me talking to myself like it’s for you. With that EP I started singing on more hip hop type beats. I still have some more R&B stuff on there. Not hip hop but it’s more open. I remember talking to XL like “Bruh I need some more beats that’s open where I can do either or on it. Where I can sing or rap”. The first one we made was “YOU”. That song still surprises me till this day. It’s on Pandora. It’s everywhere. I did not expect that song. I knew he was making the beat though because I was right beside him. I knew I just wasn’t going to put just anything on that beat because the beat was already crazy. So I was like I gotta do something strong. So at the time I was in a relationship so I’m like what would the perfect dude say to his girl . So I put everything in it. The one part when I said “When them 9-5 ain’t do, you the only one that came through” . That was true! I was basically showing how she just so supportive and loyal for me. You know! I just put it in a song and it caught everybody. That’s crazy! 4.) The Mogul Girl : I can’t play ball like that. I shoot a couple 3’s at Dave & Busters at the arcade? If you could play basketball with anybody in the league who would it be and why? Oshea: It would have to be Kobe. I studied his game since he came in the league from high school. I thought I was going to make it in basketball but my coach didn’t let me make my senior year and I guess its happened for a reason. I studied Kobe Bryant until he came in the league. I would play him not now to learn stuff but just to say I did it. If I was still playing basketball I would play him one on one just to get that legendary advice from him and just to see how I could better my game. Since I’m being Kobe in the music industry now I’d just do it for fun. 5.)The Mogul Girl : So you dance. If you could be in any music video or dance movie from the past what would it be in why? Oshea: Ooohlll! can I pick two. ? I would be in one of the ‘Step Up” movies and “You Got Served” .Matter fact yeah because Omarion was one of music idols. Chris Brown and Omarion. So I would definitely be in “You Got Served” . Music video ? I would have been one of the dudes in the “Yo” (Excuse Me Miss Video). 4.) The Mogul Girl : What’s your all time favorite songs? Oshea : I just said this yesterday. That’s hard because I’m very inconsistent. So I find new favorite songs all the time. If I had to pick it would be a song by Chris Brown called “Thank You”. In that song he’s talking bout how he came from nothing , how he’s thanking God, he’s thanking his parents, he’s thanking his fans. When I first heard that song it speaks volumes to me because a lot of people make it and forget where they come from , they forget their journey . With him making that song its shows the realness. He really appreciate it. So I would have to say that’s my favorite song because of the message. 5.) The Mogul Girl : What motivates you to keep going? Oshea: When people hit me up like man I heard your song. The other day this girl commented on a picture on my Instagram like I heard your song diamond. The song is about girls with self confidence issues and what I’m saying in the song is I believe in you when I you don’t have faith in yourself. The hook is “You’re a diamond, I can see you shining”. To answer the question in a whole, basically when I inspire them and they reach out to me to tell me how much I helped them that motivates me to keep going. I don’t just put just stuff in my music like I’m stunting on the 20’s my car cost more than yours. All my music is about real stuff. So when they hit me back saying thank you , that’s my biggest motivation. 6.) The Mogul Girl : I know your “YOU” video is premiering on MTV soon? How are you going to feel when it actually premiers and everyone is watching it in their living room or the MTV APP? Oshea: I can only imaging how I’m gonna feel. When I see it on TV first thing I’m going to do is pull out my phone, start recording, and I’m sending it everywhere. I know I’m gone be super happy because out here where I live at in Douglasville its nothing out here but trees and grass, that’s it. it’s no city. Well over by the mall, it’s a couple buildings and restaurants. Its not big out here. So for me to be on a mainstream TV station like that, I’d be ecstatic . I’d be not in disbelief but so happy like I really did it. For everyone around me to see I did it, it would just make me feel great. 7.) The Mogul Girl : Now speaking of the girls they’re showing you crazy love on Twitter and Instagram. How does that feel now? Oshea: Well I remember when I first started stuff that’s what I was going for. That was my goal. I wanted to get the girls, I wanted everybody to see. Now that I’m making this music that’s really speaking volumes. I just look at it like they’re receiving it well. That they’re appreciating it. I don’t really know it’s cool. I guess. 8.) The Mogul Girl : Tell me about your upcoming mixtape? Oshea : Ahhh Man! Well it’s called “Ocean View” . It’s 75% done and the songs on there are crazy. The mixtape I just released called “I Found Life This Summer” that was just basically about everything I was going through in the summer time. I t was just like one of the greatest summers. I found myself and I started making my own type of music. With this mixtape it’s kind of the same stuff .I’m talking about where I’m from , I’m talking about love and I’m giving a few real life stories on there. It’s really good to inspire people. The way I put this stuff together is great. Actually after we finish up I’m going to Atlanta to go to Atlantic Records Studios and write a couple records. I’m going to play them my mixtape . I know they’re going to receive it extremely well. 9.) The Mogul Girl : So, because I’m the Mogul Girl and I’m talking to you live out of Philly but The Mogul Minute of course is world wide? Is there anything you want The Mogul Minute readers and the world to know about Oshea? Oshea : That’s a tough question. I don’t want to say the wrong answer because that’s a great question. A lot of stuff I use to write about I get a lot of inspiration off of movies. I love love movies. I love the kind of movies where they show their come up. Stuff like “8 Mile” . That’s one of my goals. When I finally get in the position to make some decisions I want to show how it was coming up in Douglasville. Not a documentary but something just like “8 Mile”. Again interviewing Oshea was awesome! His passion is inspiring. I love his music! His “YOU” EP is definitely one of my favorites now including his song "Blessing" and his "I Found Life This Summer” mixtape . I can’t wait for “YOU” to premiere on MTV! I wish Oshea tons and tons of happiness, blessings, and success! The leader knows the reality - Kenyan Proverb
There's no limits when determination meets drive. Elijah Shaw, President and CEO of Icon Global (full service, security consulting and investigative agency specializes in Executive and VIP Protection) . He grew up in the Ida B. Wells , Chicago inner city housing project. There's a saying by Theophilus London "I believe your atmosphere and your surroundings create a mind state for you". Although things weren't perfect for Elijah as a child he was surrounded by the leadership spirit of journalist and activist Ida.B.Wells. Thus foreshadowing Elijah Shaw's mind state to be driven on leadership and success. The mogul has worked with numerous celebrities including Usher, Naomi Cambell, 50 Cent, and Kelly Rowland. He also is involved in politics and is set to partake in the Democratic and Republican National Convention in 2016. Elijah Shaw is a business man he takes pride in work and is dedicated to the protection and safety of his clients and staff. Aside from his numerous business endeavors he has traveled the world five times. He's touched every continent except for Antarctica. With an eye for detail Elijah Shaw has ventured into photography. During his travels he captured pictures of many marvels of the world. His pictures are so amazing that he decided to share them on his blog "Life Up There". The proceeds from the site contribute to the purchase of cameras for inner city youth so that they may capture the stories of their reality, visions, express their creativity and foretold moments of their future. Elijah also is a part of Women's Advocate Inc which helps eliminate domestic violence in the lives of women, children, and families. It's clear that Elijah Shaw is determined to make gigantic changes in the world and leave a huge impact on the hearts and minds of many. It was a pleasure to interview him and to learn about his endeavors. He spoke with so much motivation and passion. 1.) The Mogul Girl : You've met President Nelson Mandela correct? He has a quote that reads " I learned that courage was not fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear". What gives you courage? Elijah Shaw: Correct. Wow! That's pretty heavy. I think it's self-determination on my part. I'm not suppose to be where I am right now. I wasn't supposed to succeed. I kind of have to remember that. When I decided I was going to choose this career and take this as far as it could go. I knew that I was going to be up against some pretty tough obstacles at times and I was going to be in some very scary situations. So my driving source is to make sure that this was what I wanted and didn't want to do. I knew that in order for me to get by doing this I wanted to be successful. At the end of the day I have somebody's life, wellbeing, and entire brand in my hands. So I wanted to make sure that I treat that with the importance that it's due. I always have to keep these things in the back of my mind and make sure I don't skip any of those areas. 2.) The Mogul Girl : Love the title of your blog "Life Up There" . What are ways you can move your life upward despite any circumstances ? Elijah Shaw : I think one of the biggest pieces is that you have to figure out what your vision is. Figure out what you want to do. When I talk to guys, girls , younger people , I ask them "What it is they wanna do?" and they're response is that they're not really sure. They say maybe this or that or possibly this. I think that it's important because you don't have to have it all figured out but you have to have a clear vision. That vision can change over time but it should be clear in sync and be able to be defined. When I do my training courses with guys who want to be in my industry , on the first day of class after my introduction I have them come up and tell me what they do. If they can't tell me what they do and boil it down into 60 seconds I feel like they haven't accomplished it. I need an elevator pitch. I need you to be able to sum up what it is that you do or what you want to do in a couple seconds because that will help you define your vision. I think that is key to getting to where you want to be, Elijah Shaw is full of passion and determination. He has achieved numerous levels of success. He is proof that there is "Life Up There". That regardless of where or how you grow up, you can become great. He is a leader and he wants you to know that there is life out side your comfort zone. So get up, get out, envision your dreams and achieve them. A true leader knows their reality and the best thing about that is knowing that your reality can change from point A to point B in a matter of seconds. All you have to do is stay determined and never give up. Air, the element associated with Libra means reaching higher and that's exactly what Sequoia Blodgett is doing. As a beautiful entrepreneur, college graduate, business owner, and Libra Sequoia has her mind set on impacting the world in a great way. With nine years in the entertainment industry as a commercial and music video director she has worked with major artist such as K.Michelle, Jacob Latimore, and Justin Bieber. One thing is for sure she's about her business and she will not be defeated. In March of 2014 Sequoia became ill and was hospitalized . During this time she was confined to her hospital room. The doctors ran numerous test and couldn't put their finger on the problem. As she sat in this hospital room she started to reflect on all of her work and began to wonder if she didn't make it through would that be her only contribution to the world. That's when Sequoia realized she had to get better, go harder and do it bigger. So she began brainstorming about starting her own business. She's always had an interest in self help and personal development and wanted to pursue that field. After her miraculous recovery Sequoia began teaching photography as the basics for branding at an all girls entrepreneurship camp across the street from Stanford University. The parents of the students were venture capitalists and CEOs of major businesses. One of the instructors mentioned Draper University and Sequoia was thrilled about the university. She applied and was accepted to the university. In the process she was given a partial scholarship . After completing the program at Draper University , Sequoia earned a investment from billionaire and third generation venture capitalist Tim Draper whom also matched her with another investor. With all the interesting things that were happening at Draper University in Silicon Valley, Sequoia thought that they should have a reality show. Words have power because that's exactly what happened. ABC Network picked up their show and began filming 10 students in a seven week program who pitch their ideas "Shark Tank" style. The show titled "Startup U" premiered
August 18, 2015. The finale airs on Thursday October 15, 2015 on ABC at 5 P.M. I had the pleasure of interviewing Sequoia and lets just say I felt so motivated and inspired speaking with her. I hope you will feel the same. It's evident that when you start focusing on your dreams and goals you can do great things. So let's get into the interview below. 1.) The Mogul Girl : You taught photography in 2014 if you could capture your life in a photo, what would it include? Sequoia : Wow! Wow! If I cold capture my life in a photo? ( thinks) Probably a big black hole. I don't know what the next destination, milestone, or journey is. I'm kind of just going through it. I think that would be the best way to explain it. I'm blindly going into the midst and whatever happens... happens. 2.) The Mogul Girl : What advice would you have for people whom have a health condition but want to pursue their dreams and business? Sequoia: Depending on what the health condition is. I would say if it's not debilitating and you can functionally move go out and do it. Regardless of your expectation, regardless of your fears, regardless of your opinions because you're going to get a lot of those. Just get out and do it. What I feel is really interesting about Silicoln Valley is that you are taught that "Failure is good". You can have a meeting with a VP and they'll say "Oh you failed that means you're seasoned". Where as anywhere else you feel bad, you don't want to talk to anyone. You just get a different perspective. If you do have a health ailment just go out and try it. If it doesn't work do as we say in Silicoln Valley " Pivot and try something else". We are all put on this earth for a short amount of time so if you have the ability to do something go out and do it. 3.) The Mogul Girl : The number seven in numerology means spiritual, focused, intelligent, intuitive, and wisdom. So why did you name your company "7 AM" ? Sequoia: So what's interesting is at first it wasn't called "7 AM" . It was "Love Uncut". It was set out to be all relationship based with a little personal development. I spoke to the former CEO of match.com and saw a bigger opportunity for the e-learning course. This next point is interesting. Research the name of your business and the trademark. I thoroughly researched "Love Uncut" . I searched under rocks to make sure the name wasn't taken. After every aspect of the name was set including the domain etc I went to trademark it. It was at this point I found out a woman in D.C was using that name. She doesn't have to trademark it because she has seniority over the mark. So whenever she registered it it's hers. So then it becomes a situation because Love Uncut had become this huge business like Facebook. I was so married to that name. I had to just brainstorm to come up with another one. That's when I decided to name the company "7 AM " is short and catchy and to top it off its the beginning of a new day, Our company represents a new beginning. Maybe things didn't go right the day before, the week before, the month or their life before. We are here to help you start a new journey and start over. So that's what 7 AM symbolizes. P.S. I sent my life coach three other names and we went with this (laughs) . Sequoia is super fantastic, inspiring, and it was a joy to interview her. I wish her tons of success and that she wins in all she does. Thank you La Tasha (@Tash1216) for this wondrous connection.

( INTERVIEW WITH THE MOGUL GIRL)7/30/2015
Tyrese has mastered The Art of the Hustle. His album "Black Rose" is #1 in 15 countries, #1 on the Top 200 Billboard, 1# on iTunes and #1 on R&B Charts. Tyrese understands that success depends on your hard work and hustle and lets just say the Vision Implementer is hustling his ass off with this album. With millions of fans worldwide Tyrese is loved for his music, acting, books, motivational videos and more. Tyrese is bold in his truth . He is not filtered, very unapologetic, and he's speaking on most of the things that people think but are afraid to say. You have to love a man that is brave, comfortable in his own skin , and doesn't have their pride or ego involved. Bottom line Tyrese is on a God given mission that's bigger than him. It's uncomfortable and it will benefit others more than himself. Tyrese is making a selfless move in the state of R&B. In my interview with Tyrese he expressed that "I don't have a cape, I'm not lacking as a celebrity, no antics and I'm not superman. I'm solid as an entertainer. I use my platform to inspire and give back everything I know as well as give money." Tyrese released Black Rose independently under his own label Voltron Recordz. He has a staff of seven and fifty overall that work for his company. Tyrese emphasized "I wanted to make a statement, show that real R&B fans are still here, to bring back album packaging, and to have real music videos that are real experiences" . Its clear he did just that ! Black Rose definitely made a world-wide statement. Tyrese said "I grew up on Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandros, Tina Marie, The O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass. I grew up with real music that I was introduced to by parents . Even though they played it while they were drinking , I still got to know music. Its all I Know".
During the interview Tyrese, expressed how appreciative and thankful he was for the world to receive the album on the level that they're receiving it on and that it's bigger than numbers , it's more than being number #1, it's a number #1 with a message and it didn't have 15 rappers on it to get attention. The second single on his Black Rose Album, is "Shame" featuring the beautifully talented Jennifer Hudson. "Shame" is now number #1 on the charts as of this week. The song is powerful and it's definitely a bonafide hit . Tyrese describes the song as having the exact energy to depict what he was going through at the time. With such a powerful song that has such a strong impact you'd think it was all over all of the radio stations right? Wrong. Tyrese addresses the lack of R&B/Soul in mainstream radio. He said "I don't want mainstream to just play my music because I'm black and I sing R&B/Soul I want them to play it because it's a hit record." He also speaks on artist such as Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, and Sam Smith who sing R&B/Soul and their music is played on all stations and his is not. He acknowledged that there's not a racist bone in his body and that those artist are geniously talented and that he loves their music .He's friends with Justin and Robin and he saw Sam Smith perform at Clive Davis: Grammy Party and loved his performance. Tyrese said "My Music has no boundaries , no limits, no sexual preferences point blank period end of story . I'm just frustrated with the limit mainstream radio is putting on my music". His single "Stay" off of his album "Open Invitation which released in 2011 was number #1 on the Billboard for 11 consecutive weeks and it was played on Urban Adult Contemporary and mainstream radio. Radio is so important for artist. Radio helps to make listeners and fans aware of music. He said "I'm thankful and I love Urban Adult Contemporary Radio because we're able to survive, feed our kids, and tour". Remember this is a selfless move that Tyrese is making. He is standing up for R&B and all of the R&B soldiers. He's calling attention to the fact that too many R&B/Soul singers are turning to techno and pop or putting out an album featuring tons of rappers just to get played on mainstream radio. Its a bold step in the right direction. If more people spoke up and weren't afraid to spotlight and speak up about the inequity , things would change for the better. The success of Tyrese's number #1 album has shown that R&B is not dead. That R&B is very much alive. Tyrese did tons of album signings in the U.S and he flew to Abu Dhabi to shown love to his fans. By the way he loves Abu Dhabi and wants to open Voltron Pictures" there (a full functioning film studio). Tyrese is working hard and speaking of films he is releasing his first short film "Shame" . I am so excited an anticipating the film, so of course I had to ask him about it. The Mogul Girl: Mogul Morning Tyrese this is the Mogul Girl of The Mogul Minute Tyrese : Good morning. What's Happening? The Mogul Girl :Congratulations on having the #1 album two weeks in a row? I'm speaking Grammys into existence for you. Tyrese: Thank you, I hope to come home with five of them. My mom told me 15 years ago I would come home with five of them and I laughed at her. The Mogul Girl : They're coming Tyrese : I said "Momma, what are you talking about? So yeah lets see what happens, that would be amazing! The Mogul Girl : Tyrese, I know you were Influenced by the 1999 film "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington. Particularly the part when he says "You Can't Break Me, Cause You Didn't Make Me". What does it mean to you to have Denzel Washington produce your short film "Shame"? Tyrese: Oh my God! I mean and you can Google this . I've said for the last eight years or even more that, that I won't feel like I made it as an actor until I work with my hero Denzel Washington. It was because of that movie "The Hurricane" (Rubin Hurricane Carter) so for me to be here and having him producing this short film is definitely a blessing.Definitely life changing. You know he wouldn't do it unless he believed in the actual movie. You know for me to be here is beyond amazing and I'm just very excited and feeling very blessed. The Mogul Girl : I am excited too ! Tyrese : Yeah its crazy! You know the movie is 25 minutes long. It's directed by Paul Hunter. We're hoping to get it into two film festivals Toronto Film Festival and TelluRide. Those are the most influential film festivals before you get into the Oscars. We just hope to land an Oscar. I mean you look at the "Shame" music video , that's the edited down version of the movie that just focuses on the music part. In between the singing is all the acting scenes that's a total of 25 minutes. I'm just very excited about putting this out there. My album is going to be re-released in November called "Black Rose Reloaded" and its going to come with the "Shame" movie, a more extended edit of the making of "Black Rose". It's going to come with my book "Black Rose" which is going to be my third book. It's also going to have six more R&B songs on "Black Rose" which will equal to 20. The third disk is going to be "Black Ty" the hip hop side of the album. So I'm excited about what's about to happen The Mogul Girl : I am too. Thank you Tyrese Tyrese : Thank you , your very welcome The hustle is real. The R&B is real. The message is real! The statement is real and most of all Tyrese and his heart are real. As Tyrese said in his first book "How To Get Out Of Your Own Way" "So do your own thing and elevate yourself to the top". He did that with his own label "Voltron Recordz" and his Voltron Recordz staff. Its definitely a celebration to have the #1 album . He is living in his strength and his truth. He inspires people world wide and me with his God given talents , words, and dreams. Special thanks to Toni Cervantes who let Tyrese audition for that life changing Coca-Cola commercial 20 years ago. Black Rose, is an incredible album. It high lights love and its an experience and that's what R&B/Soul is all about. I loooooooove this album and Tyrese. I can't wait for more videos and I hope "Picture Perfect" definitely is a single. Get the album now! Black Rose Mission is in full affect Its a Voltron Recordz thing!

THE MOGUL MINUTE : TURN THE BEAT ON TUESDAYS "STOOPID ON DA BEAT EDITION" - THE MOGUL GIRL7/28/2015
For this special edition of The Mogul Minute : Turn The Beat On Tuesdays I'm featuring producer Stoopid On Da Beat. Stoopid has produced records for some of the dopest artist in the game. With the release of "Dreams Worth More Than Money" album by Meek Mill everyone on Twitter and Instagram was buzzing about Meek's song The Trillest produced by Stoopid On Da Beat. The song is definitely a favorite of mine off the album. Stoopid made the perfect track for Meek to share his story. Overall the beat and lyrics were perfect together and they made a song that's engaging, solid, and Trill. So I chatted with Stoopid Boy to find out what's going on in his world.
Turn The Beat On. 1.) The Mogul Girl : Who or what inspired you to become a producer? Stoopid On Da Beat : My father he was my inspiration for as long as I could remember . There was a recording studio in my house since birth. 2.) The Mogul Girl : How did you come up with your name? Stoopid On Da Beat : Cassidy he said "Bro these beats sound stoooooopid." .I stuck with name because he was the first artist I ever worked with. 3.) The Mogul Girl : Obviously music is a big part of who you are. What was your favorite song to listen to growing up? Stoopid On Da Beat : Canibus - Buckenham Palace that was my sh*t! 4.) The Mogul Girl : You produced "The Trillest" one of my favorite records on DWMTM the chart topping No.1 album by Meek Mill. What was the process ? How does it feel to be apart of that? I made that beat in the winter of 2014 when I first left my baby mom . I was going through things. I was at my lowest time ever. I parked my studio and stuff at my bro Gabe's crib and whipped up like 20 beats . I saved money to get a crib. By the time I got the keys Meek hit me like "You made the album". 5.) The Mogul Girl : Is there anything special you want The Mogul Minute readers to know about you? Stoopid On Da Beat : Special thing about me is that I'm really a artist before producer .Beats are my secondary talent. I always wrote since I was a child. 6.) The Mogul Girl : Throughout life we experience many situations that make us or break us. How do you stay strong and focused? Stoopid On Da Beat : Other artist keep me afloat. Jim Jones ,Charlie Rock, Trav ,Meek Mill ,and Mike Davis. They always hit me up. They always believed in me. Also producers like the Mekanics, Young N Fly Vinyls, and Butter Beats. They motivate me that even at my lowest points in life were I feel I ain't got it. 7.) The Mogul Girl : If you could have produced an album from the past which artist would it be and why? Stoopid On Da Beat : Probably, would of been Michael Jackson album (lol) I probably don't have to explain why (lol). 8.) The Mogul Girl : How can people contact you if they want to collaborate ? Stoopid On Da Beat : They can hit my road manager @lanskymgmt . IG @TheRealStoopidBoy or Twitter @StoopidOnDaBeat 9.) The Mogul Girl : You've worked with a lot of artist. Whom do you want to work with that you haven't yet? Stoopid On Da Beat :Next would be French Montana, Omelly,Drake,Chris Brown, and PartyNextDoor . I already have a record with Fetty Wap called "Addicted". I would like to get more work done with him and other big artist I haven't produced for yet. 10. )The Mogul Girl: What advice do you have for young producers ? Stoopid On Da Beat: Chase, chase, chase, don't stop. Whether you're rich, broke, sad, happy, hurt, healthy, work and grind. Chase down these industry .Just make sure when you get the attention your work and material is the best. 11.)The Mogul Girl: I love food so of course we can't end this interview without me asking what's your favorite meal? Stoopid On Da Beat: Lol that's seafood ,lobster all day.
A few weeks ago I was scrolling through YouTube when I discovered the beautifully talented Ravyn Lenae. Watching her video for "Blossom Dearie" produced by A Zae Productions I immediately noticed how captivating, magnetic, and pretty her voice is. There's no doubt that Ravyn has a special shining essence that transmits so eloquently through her music. The 16 year old from Chicago is definitely on her way. I just love her voice, video, her style, and her hair of course. Her single "Blossom Dearie" produced by Monte Booker is an interesting song with mellow and flavorful vibes. Ravyn Lenae is a name you should know and favorite. I'm super excited to introduce her to all The Mogul Minute readers around the world in her interview below.
1.} The Mogul Girl : What inspired you to pursue music? Ravyn Lenae : I realized I wanted to pursue music as a career when I experienced the rush of being on stage and making people happy. I also appreciate the art form and would love to make a contribution. 2.) The Mogul Girl : If you could describe yourself as a flower what would you be and why? Ravyn Lenae : I would consider myself an Evening Primrose because they only blossom at night, which is really cool. I like the idea that you can't see them bloom, but you can see the finished product in the morning. 3.) The Mogul Girl: What do you want listeners to feel from "Blossom Dearie"? Ravyn Lenae : "Blossom Dearie" pinpoints a situation where you're trying to get through to someone or help them understand your feelings, but they're too stubborn to actually listen. In the song, "Blossom Dearie" represents the extra noise blocking that person from hearing and understanding you. 4)The Mogul Girl : Tranquility is very important .What brings you peace? Ravyn Lenae : I find peace in making music, enjoying beautiful weather, and spending time with those important to me. 5.) The Mogul Girl : What is your favorite food? Ravyn Lenae : I really love Japanese food! But, if I had to choose 2 foods to eat for the rest of my life, I would choose egg rolls and fries. 6.) The Mogul Girl : Are you working on an official project? Ravyn Lenae : Yes, I am working on an EP which will be released in the summer. 7. ) The Mogul Girl : Is there anything special you want people to know about you? Ravyn Lenae : I love color. My style usually consists of color blocking or mixing patterns. I like to have fun with my clothes and my hair. 8.) The Mogul Girl : Do you have a favorite style? Ravyn Lenae : I don't have a favorite style of music. However, I primarily listen to Neo soul, Indie Electronica, House, and Alternative music. 9.) The Mogul Girl: What your message to today's young women? Ravyn Lenae : Be yourself! People will actually respect and like you more if you come as your are. It's okay to be different; it makes you memorable! 10.) The Mogul Girl: If you could collaborate with any artist whom would it be and why? Ravyn Lenae : This is a tough one because I respect a lot of artists. I would love to collaborate with Erykah Badu because I admire her writing style and vibe. 11.) The Mogul Girl : How can people get in touch with you? Ravyn Lenae : Tweet me @ravynlenae Follow me on IG @ravynlenae Follow me on soundcloud @ravynlenae Email me: ravynlenaemusic@gmail.com

"On my grind so I can shine for the next nine summers"
-Young Sam The name Sam in Hebrew means sun child or bright sun. Therefore Philadelphia hip hop artist "Young Sam" is on his grind and he is going to be shining for a very, very long time. The acclaimed "Voice Of The Streets" has consistently dropped songs and videos to share his story, to show his grind, and to let the world know just what he's thinking. I've been tuned into Young Sam's grind for a while and he's definitely one of my favorite Philly artist. Sam speaks on being raised in a single parent home, his dreams to become giant, not having all he wanted growing up, losing friends to the street, growing up without a father figure and how since he's grown things have changed, girls , not letting his mom down, and making his dreams a reality . If you are hustling for your dreams and have a goal to make things better for yourself, your family, and those you love, you can definitely relate to the rawness and lyrical honesty from Young Sam. There's no doubt about it that he is lyrically fire and the ladies love him. On March 13,2015 he dropped a blazing "BET Cypher Freestyle" which currently has over 157K views. Young Sam is for sure an artist to keep your eyes on. I wanted to know more about his story so I reached out to him for an exclusive interview. Actually he's the first Philly rapper I've interviewed this year! So Congrats Sam and keep shining. Read his "The Mogul Minute" interview below. 1.) The Mogul Girl : What or who inspired you to rap? Young Sam : It's a few things that inspired me to rap for one I kinda grew up on rap. Besides that I think it's the whole art of it, it's sorta like a therapy. I was inspired by rappers I could relate to that spoke about how the hood was like Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel, Jadakiss & DMX. 2.) The Mogul Girl : Where's your favorite place to eat in Philly? Young Sam : Well I don't actually have a favorite it's a lot of good places but one of my favorites is Ishkabibble's. 3.) The Mogul Girl : Out of all your songs what are your favorite lyrics? Young Sam : That's hard. I have too many hot verses but one that I really like a lot is on YouTube when I was on the Come Up Show rapping to my mom. 4.) The Mogul Girl : There's a lot of violence plaguing communities all over. What do you think about that? Young Sam : It's been going on for years it's nothing new it's just that technology upgraded and made it easier to actually see what's going on, you know the type of things the news would never show. 5.) The Mogul Girl : If you could have been featured on any hip hop track from the past what would it be and why? Young Sam : Probably Nas ft Lauryn hill "If I ruled the world" because it's basically speaking on how the world would be if you had the power to change it. 6.) The Mogul Girl : You are one of the rappers the ladies really like . What do you look for in a lady? Young Sam : Well I'm the type to like people for who they are. Most females wanna put on an act to impress the person they like. So for the most part just them being themselves . I like the hustle in a woman. Any female who isn't too dependent on a man and who doesn't settle or wait around is something I look for. 7.) The Mogul Girl : What do you want your supporters to get from your music? Young Sam : That it's a way even when you haven't figured it out. I want them to get that the hood isn't the best of places but it makes you a strong person and you have to utilize it and see the good in it even tho it's messed up for most young black kids growing up. 8.) The Mogul Girl : Are you dropping a project soon? Young Sam : Yea, aiming early summer. I'm only a few tracks in on it and still don't have a title for it yet. 9.) The Mogul Girl : What do you want The Mogul Minute readers to know about you? Young Sam : That I'm a super humble person, sometimes people listen to my music and mistake that. They think because I rhyme cocky that I walk around every day all day with my nose in the air but that's just how you're suppose to flow. Music is all about having confidence in yourself but off the mic I'm a very down to earth and laid back person. 10.) The Mogul Girl : Are there other things you'd love to do in the business? Young Sam : Not really, besides actually making the music it's not too much I rather do. If I was to ever get signed I would probably become an actor before anything. 11) The Mogul Girl : What's your message to the world? Young Sam : To think bigger and strive further in life. Sometimes your vision may be clouded by the type of environment you grew up in or the crowd you choose to hang around. You have to learn to be your own self motivation and know that doing the impossible is possible you just have to believe in yourself and be dedicated to what you love. Anthony Molock the brother of boxer Joe Harris has created the stage play "Gypsy Joe Harris: The Son of Philadelphia ". The play will give you an inside look of the 2006 Pennsylvania Hall of Fame boxer. Joe Harris reach an all time high in his career but quickly fell to the depths of despair and hopelessness. The acclaimed son of Philadelphia was the first non heavyweight and non champion to be featured on the front cover of Sports Illustrated. Joe Harris faced tons of ups and downs including that his entire career he fought blind in one eye. Joe's career included 24-1 which placed him in a category of his own. Rittenhouse Square Philadelphia, PA 19103 Tickets: $25 more at the door www.eventbrite.com GypsyJoe I interviewed Anthony Molock author of four books: Son of Philadelphia, Coco Goes Bald, The Adventures of Coco Pelou and Swamp Diamond. 1.) The Mogul Girl : Why did you decide to share the story of Gypsy Joe Harris on stage? Anthony Molock: Right before he died, he sat me down and told me stories about his life . After he passed away it was brewing in me . So I wrote the book talked it over with my our sister and decided to do the play. 2.) The Mogul Girl : You've written four books do you have another one planned? Anthony Molock : Yes! I'm debating a sequel to Swamp Diamond. 3.) The Mogul Girl : Why should people come see this play? Anthony Molock: A lot of athletes want a lot of money but can't handle it. When success comes we abuse it. When success is gone you wind up with nothing. He did the same thing back in the 60's with drugs and alcohol. You have to remember that you have a responsibility to yourself also. I did the same thing but I had a mentor that looked out for me. I just want people to know his story and what he went through. 4.) The Mogul Girl What was it like to see him fight? Anthony Molock : It was a show! He was the first boxer to put on a show. He broke the mold. He had three quarter length satin shorts, tassels on his shoes. He danced when he fought. He had a flashy style. This is going to be huge! The heart is a vital organ that pumps blood throughout the body. Each beat signifies that we are alive, we are here, and its time to make things happen. Father, Mogul, singer, actor, producer, and writer Tyrese Gibson is the heart of the "Love Circle". He is a vital energy that pumps love, knowledge, wisdom, and raw truth into the minds and spirits of people all over the world. He has used his God given dreams, gifts and talents as a platform to inspire , uplift, entertain, and motivate his Love Circle allover the world. Tyrese decided to do a global virtual conference call interview about his new deluxe album "Black Rose". "Black Rose" includes 18 songs, bonus tracks, Black Rose the book, an exclusive live global tour, "Shame" the musical short film featuring Jennifer Hudson directed by Paul Hunter and much more. It is always an honor to speak to him. This is the third time I have interviewed Tyrese and each time I am truly empowered and blessed by his words. He is filled with so much greatness and power. I refer to his first book "How To Get Out Of Your Own Way" daily. I've said it before and I'll say it again " It has truly changed my life". In his book he says "There is a reason every single person has been brought in your life and your journey". I believe that 100%. I know that I have connected with Tyrese for a reason and I am forever thankful.
The Mogul Girl : What is your message to your Love Circle at this point in your life? Tyrese Gibson : My message to the Love Circle is very simple . Forgive faster, hug longer, forgive faster, kiss slower and any issue that you're having in your life between family, friends, and loved ones put the issues on the table and pick them apart an do any means necessary to not allow for unresolved issues to stop you from reconnecting with your family, friends, and loved ones more often because its arrogant to believe that the next seconds of life belong to you. The Mogul Girl : I Know obedience to God is important to you . If he tells you to release another album will you do it? Tyrese Gibson: I can't deny God and that's a really good question. My current email from God says this is it it for me. This is it for me as far as a solo album . If I do another TGT album that's one thing. If I release random singles thats another thing. If I'm featured on a soundtrack thats another thing but as far as me with another solo album, Tyrese I'm done! The Mogul Girl : You've given your heart in your music, your books, as well as everything you do. What is it that you want the world to gain fully from the entire Black Rose double album? Tyrese Gibson : Well I feel like I have a message . My message comes through song. My message comes through hip hop. My message comes through writing this book. My message comes from what they're going to see in this musical short film that I did with Jennifer Hudson.Everything that I do from this point is about art. While you guys are thinking that you guys are just doing an interview . Even this moment I thank God for because there are a lot of beautiful calls on this phone. You have all of these outlets of all these people that are waiting to read the story that you're about to write. So you have emotional access to a lot of people. I know that y'all are thinking it's about me and my project but based on the story that yall are about to write , y'all are going to do the same thing I'm doing. Y'all have emotional access to people and y'all can write a story that can make their day better. Y'all can write a story that can motivate and inspire them. There's people that are reading y'all blogs , magazines, and websites that are on the brink of suicide. There are people thatt just lost their grandmother and they don't want to be here anymore. Whatever they end up reading from your story you know you have access to people's emotions. I just met this guy today. He walked up to me and said "I just want you to know something brother". I never met this dude in my life. He says "I just want you to know something man , I was going through a rough time in my life for atleast three months and I was about to commit suicide . It was your videos on Facebook that you put up that stopped me. I just want to hug you and thank you" . So for me mentioning that its not me tooting my own horn. Its more so me saying what does it mean to have 23 million followers? What does it mean to have all these likes and shares? What does it mean to have Instagram and Twitter? It doesn't mean anything if you are not using it to motivate and inspire people if you can. The Mogul Girl : I know your videos and voice over messages that you have posted have helped a lot of people. Tyrese Gibson : Bless you ! I mean as long as these messages continue to pop up . I'm going to keep sending them. I'm not a pastor. I'm not a profit. I'm not a psychic . I'm just an honest man that is flawed. I'm just waking up everyday to do the best that I can. Tyrese always speaks his truth! He spoke so honestly on the conference call. He discussed the details of his musical short film "Shame" which features the beautifully talented Jennifer Hudson. He also discussed "Furious 7". He talked about his brother best friend, and cast mate of fourteen years actor Paul walker whom passed away. He let the world know that Paul Walker was an angel, he was one of the nicest guys you could know and meet , and that he was a sincere soul. He also shared a special and funny story about him and Paul on set of "Fast and Furious 2". Tyrese also shared that it was through prayers and faith and God that the Fast and Furious family pulled together to get through the tragedy. He also discussed that Paul's mother and father supported the finishing of the movie "Furious 7" . Tyrese also shared that Universal Pictures donated a million dollars to Paul's charity "Reach Out World Wide" (www.roww.org) . He also talked about how Paul's brothers Cody and Caleb stepped in to play Paul Walker to finish the film and they look just like him. He said "All of that made us feel comfortable with something we were uncomfortable doing". He stated that he and Paul shared so many moments of laughter and stories about our daughters and fatherhood". In the Foreward of Tyrese Gibson's book "How To Get Out Of Your Own Way" page 16 to be exact , Tyrese writes about how he dubbed the community in which he shares the messages God lays on his heart his "Love Circle" . On the global conference call Tyrese informed everyone that he will be launching a new foundation "The Love Circle" and he'd be releasing details soon. I'm telling you that I am super excited for the deluxe album. I'm so glad that Tyrese fell in love with his ideas and he is giving the world "Black Rose" the deluxe album. Tyrese is blooming love and truth into all of our lives. You are in for a treat with all that Tyrese has in store for this special project. Today on January 30,2015 I got an exclusive behind the scenes look at the exotic, pre-production, classic, concept, and product cars on Media Day. There are 49 manufacturers with 700 cars displayed over the 700,000 square foot Convention Center. There is definitely a vehicle that will excite the car lover in you. Walking into the auto show exhibit the NIssan GTR immediately caught my eye. I interviewed Steven Oldham the Nissan North America PR Manager about the Nissan GTR. The Mogul Girl: So tell me about the Nissan GTR? Steven Oldham: So this is as we call it our super car. It has 545 horse power and its unbelievably fast. We call it sort of a halo car. We don’t sell many of these but its been around the Nissan line up for a number of years. It has a very huge following in the United States and Japan. Its for that single person that wants a car that is fun to drive. Its starts at a little over 100,000. Its definitely a fun style car. The car is so powerful it is nicknamed Godzilla. The Mogul Girl : What’s your favorite thing about this vehicle? Steven Oldham: The power. You floor this thing. You actually get sucked into the seat, thats how powerful it is. I ventured over to the Jaguar display and checked out the Jaguar F-Type. After getting inside the very luxurious vehicle I interviewed Jaguar Representative Loraine. The F-Type is definitely a great two seater sports car. I definitely loved the style and features of the F-Type. The Bentley, Ashton Martin, Rolls Royce Ghost, Lamborghini Huracan, and LP 700-4 are very exotic, exclusive and brilliant vehicles. The colors are super appealing. You can’t help but gravitate to these beauties. You will definitely fall for them. I absolutely love the LP 700-4. Jeep Camp was so much fun. I sat in the passenger seat of the Jeep Rubicon 2015 as the professional 4X4 driver TJ gave me the full experience of The Jeep Test Track adventure zone. The Rubicon is very spacious. This was definitely a interesting interactive part of the auto show. The Ford display was superb. Ford Representative James Tobin gave me the best tour of the latest Ford models. He was a great interview and such a kind person. Make sure you stop by the Ford display and see all the great vehicles. The 2015 Ford F-150 is truly Ford Tough. I quickly became interested in his unique art and fashion.I think his brand is popping already. So I reached, out to him for an interview. In fact he's the first to be interviewed on The Mogul Minute in 2015. Aaron Ball 21, of Oklahoma City is hand painting his dreams one shirt at a time. Aaron is attending University of Central Oklahoma for graphic design. His brand "AbDesignedIt" is expanding every day. So to all The Mogul Minute readers, I introduce to you "Aaron Ball". 1.) I recently grew my passion for Art towards the end of 2013. 2.) The Mogul Girl :What did you paint on your first shirt? Aaron Ball : I honestly can’t remember. I have an older cousin that I learned art techniques from last year. Once I got it down packed, I practced everyday. I started painting different things on shirts and different techniques until I started to enjoy the craft and master it. Yet I'm still learning more and more each day. 3.)The Mogul Girl So your from Oklahoma City. Where's your favorite place to eat? Aaron Ball: Yes, born and raised in Oklahoma City. Red Lobster. 4.The Mogul Girl: If you were teaching your own graphic design class, what would your first lesson be? Aaron Ball: This is a hard one. I’ve always thought of myself as an innovative designer and thinker . When I started college 3 years ago my major was Psychology. It wasn’t until I fell in love with my craft last year that I changed my major to Graphic Design. Therefore I am still pretty new to the classroom setting lessons. Most of what I know about art and design so far is via hours of self research. 5.)The Mogul Girl: Who is your favorite artist? Aaron Ball: No favorite artist, I am inspired by ALL artist I see. 6.)The Mogul Girl: Which celeb do you want to wear one of your shirts? Aaron Ball: I would love to get a chance to meet up with and do some shirts for Russel Westbrook. 7.)The Mogul Girl: How does it feel to have your own brand "AbDesignedIt" at 21? Aaron Ball: I love every bit of it!! 8.)The Mogul Girl: Is there anything you want the world to know about your brand? Aaron Ball:Yes, many may not know that I launched my brand in 2014.I started using social media to establish it and my own website ( www.AbDesignedIt.com).What I learned in 2014 motivated me to be more confident with my craft. In 2015 things are changing for the better. I'm putting in more time and focusing on my brand. I want to expand throughout the United States and to other countries as well.I want my website audience to continue to grow and I'll be able to watch it increase through Google Analytics. 9.)The Mogul Girl Is there a song lyric that means a lot to you? and why? Aaron Ball: No particular song lyrics that mean a lot to me. There's a song by K Camp called “Think About It” .In the chours of the song he states “Keep going ,Kkeep going dont stop! One Day yo sh*t gone pop!” That’s kind of been my motto every since :-). Appreciate that song K Camp! lol 10.)The Mogul Girl: How can your shirts be purchased? Aaron Ball: Via www.abdesignedit.com custom inquires via itzaphotoshoot30@gmail.com Instagram : Instagram.Com/itzaphotoshoot30 11.)The Mogul Girl: What has art taught you?
