Khemist has lyrically conquered multiple beats. Sharing his life and speaking on every day issues meanwhile still using his lyrics to uplift , he has perfectly puzzle pieced everything that the game needs. He is not afraid to stand flat footed , go against the grain and project the deep thoughts that he has in my mind and his heart. Although he embraces world-wide topics in his music, he still vividly paints pictures of his Philly - born "Logan Valley" bread story . He isn't you average "rapper" . You have to listen to him and sometimes run things back just in case the intensity of the lyrics or his profound vocabulary went over your head. Khemist just released a project "WOLVES" and has a few other things in the works , so it was about time that we did and interview, check it out below.
1. The Mogul Girl : What does hip hop mean to you?
Khemist : It is an outlet for me to express myself and be creative with different sounds and sh*t like that.
2. The Mogul Girl : You've done a lot of shows . What has been your all time favorite set ?
Khemist : I was in D.C at Bohemian Tavern. I did a show with BJ Simmons ( a jazz artist). So it was a hip hop/jazz set. I recently did the Clef Club and had a ten piece band. I like it when I get to bring in instruments and can rock out with no restrictions.
3.The Mogul Girl : If you can change anything about the music industry what would it be?
Khemist : Politics. It gets deep. I've seen a lot of things and its been a lot of foul sh*t . It's a uphill battle but I knew this when I started.
4.The Mogul Girl : I'm from North Philly you're from Logan Valley what has growing up in your part of the city taught you?
Khemist : A bunch of street lessons and different codes. I know a lot of Cambodians and picked up on a few Cambodian words. Their language is "Khmer". I grew up in a house full of musicians and we had a piano. On the weekends when I went to my grandma's house in Nicetown she had a piano too and my uncle was a jazz musician. So I've always been surrounded by music.
5.The Mogul Girl: What are you currently working on ?
Khemist : The "Wolves" EP is out with Zaytona and DJ Rick Geez .Rick is from Philly but lives in V.A and he DJ's for Pusha T. My album is coming . I've been working on it for two years.
6.The Mogul Girl : Besides music what are some other things you're interested in doing?
Khemist : Reading , poetry, spoken word, and helping homeless people. I love art. When I was 12 my mom put me in art school. So I like painting with pastels and water colors.
7.The Mogul Girl : If you could have collaborated with any artist that passed away who would it be and why ?
Khemist : Michael Jackson! Just the music, instrumentals, high musicality, you can't find that anywhere else. I'd also collaborate with Prince. Since I've been in the studio I've referenced to and learned from Michael Jackson. Its one thing to hear great sh*t and know that it's great. It is another reason to want to know why it's great. Michael Jackson said in an interview once that " I study the great people". So that's why I study him.
8.The Mogul Girl : Is there anything you want The Mogul Minute readers to know ?
Khemist : The "WOLVES" EP is out. Scrap Metal 2 is in the works . The album is coming but there's still so much more to be done.
9: The Mogul Girl : Since I ask everybody about food in my interviews , what's your go to favorite food ?
Khemist : I would say a cheese steak but I haven't eaten meat in four months . I'm trying to change my diet. Its not easy but I still like whiting fish , so you could consider me being Pescetarian .
It was so dope to interview Khemist, because he's definitely been putting in a lot work in the studio and on every stage he's touched. He's lyrically telling his testimony from the streets . So get the "WOLVES" EP and stay on the look out for his upcoming album.

THE MOGUL MINUTE : MEEK MILL, CHRIS BROWN , AND TY DOLLA $IGN ARE READY TO GIVE YOU "WHATEVER YOU NEED" (NEW MUSIC)
The Meek Streak continues. A few weeks ago Meek Mill played a few lit snippets of his unreleased tracks on Instagram live. I watched a few minutes and I remember hearing Chris Brown's vocals for a few seconds on one of the songs . So I highly anticipated hearing the full track . On May 6, 2017 Meek celebrated his 30th birthday and released a three track project entitled "Meekend Mu$ic" via MyMixtapez followed by music videos for "Left Hollywood" and "Litty" ft Tory Lanez. This week he released his new song and video "Glow Up" . One things for sure , Meek isn't letting up any time soon . I have a feeling that he's going to keep dropping banger after banger until he releases his full album . If you want to see Meek shut down the stage this summer , get your tickets to the "Against All Odds Tour" featuring Yo Gotti. Last night Meek Mill released his new single "Whatever You Need" featuring Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign. The song samples the 1991 single "Whatever You Want" by Tony, Toni, Tone. This new track is produced by DJ Mustard. All three of these talented artist brought their unique styles and flows together to create a perfect mix of rap and R&B . This track is straight heat . Meek , Chris , and Ty Dolla $ign did their things with this one. FACTS!!!

The film starring Dakota Johnson as "Anastasia Steele" and Jamie Dornan as "Christian Grey" is completely intriguing and you don't want to miss any of this dazzling yet steamy thrill ride full of twist and turns directed by James Foley and written by Niall Leonard . I attended a private screening of the film and let's just say its quite a sensuous and enthralling. The cast also includes Rita Ora, Robinne Lee, Isabella Heathcote, and Victor Rasuk to name a few. With Valentines Day in four days "fifty Shades Darker" is definitely an interesting movie to see for date night. So definitely add a trip to the movie to your valentines day plans. If you're single and want to avoid the V-day crowd grab your friends and have a friends night out and go see a it. Don't forget the popcorn.
3. if you love the "fifty shades of grey" trilogy
if you were one of those people that couldn't get your head out of the book, you set reminders for release dates, or you were at the bookstore early to get your copy then you'll love the second film. If you didn't read the book but enjoyed the first installment film and you love Christian and Anastasia then get going! You will definitely gasp a few times and indulge in some laughter while watching.
So Christian Grey is into a lot of various questionable pleasures. As in the book there are some very shocking moments in the world of Mr.Grey. So the film doesn't fail to bring his fetishes to life. So if you're heading to the movies just know you are in for some surprises .
