I..When God is for me no weapon can hold me- August Alsina (GRINDIN Lyric) New Orleans singer and songwriter August Alsina recently sat down with the beautiful Jada Pinkett Smith for a one on one session. Over the years August and the Smith family have become really close. August even refers to Mrs.Smith as being his favorite person in the whole world. August wanted to be completely honest and let his fans know what has been going on in his life. Throughout all of his battles he still fights and wants his supporters to really feel him and understand who he behind the fame. Watching August speak to Mrs.Pinkett touched my heart in a special way. It really made me open my eyes . I'm literally in the hospital right now writing this article. I admire his strength, love, and honesty. The fact that he shared so many personal details about his life shows absolute strength ,courage, and freedom . Psalm 118:14 says "The LORD is my strength and my defense ; he has become my salvation". No matter what you may face in this thing called life you just have to trust God and watch him pull you through . Watch a clip from the interview below. August you are in my prayers . Stay blessed ! You deserve all the love and care! Peace I'm proud of him for not sticking in the box and letting "being famous" go to his head but just telling his story and his truth to inspire others. That's what it's all about ! S/o to you August Alsina stay strong . I personally appreciate him first for telling his truth and not caring what people think. Secondly, I appreciate him for Tweeting me back about my cousin. You can see the post below. She's a huge fan of August Alsina . I got her a shirt with his face on it for Christmas and August saw the video and tweeted back "Send Her My Love". That made her day! It's the simple things in life sometimes that mean the world to others. I would definitely love to interview August. We all are trying to survive this thing called life. Whether old, young, rich or poor we all face daily challenges just trying to make it, to be happy, to be free of the heartache and pain. However are we every really free? Does the bull crap ever stop? The upcoming sophomore album "This Thing Called Life" by August Alsina is going to high light exactly what we're all thinking. August just released the "This Thing Called Life" trailer tonight. Watching it I teared up even though its 1:24 (he covered a lot in the trailer). When an artist puts out content that you can relate to , it goes beyond just posting or reading an article it gets to your heart, your emotions, and your thoughts. The trailer shows August in various scenes tossing and turning in bed, in the bathroom with full and empty pill bottles, viewing the streets from his window, a policemen standing over him with a gun, and him frustrated and throwing his plaque. Meanwhile the voice over you hear are his inner thoughts. The ones you seems to miss by his infamous smile in Instagram pictures. Truth is you never know what someone is thinking or going through that's why we shouldn't judge, The truth also is is that we have to speak up how we feel. Could you relate to the scenes and thoughts in this trailer? How many nights have you stayed up just thinking about things changing for the better? Have you ever doubted God's love? Have you ever thought enough was enough? Realized money just might not change the pain in our hearts or the people and situations around us ? Yeah I think we've all been there. I definitely think this album is going to be deep, honest, and a straight forward message. August even touched on "Who is policing the police?" in this trailer. We all are resonating on that due to the constant murders of African Americans by police. No matter what age the question of "What's next"? always floats around in our minds. Trusting God, believing, and continuing to survive regardless of the let downs is all that matters. Yes this Thing Called Life is a trip and we may never understand why things are the way they are. However, our purpose is to get through it . In an old Hot 97 interview I heard August say "I know that I'm hustla, I know that I'm a grinder and I know that I'm gone pray each and everyday and I'm gone be wherever God put me." That quote is so true. August definitely is a hustler and a grinder and in "This Thing Called Life" no matter what trials and tribulations he faces he'll continue to grind and pray. "Thing Thing Called Life" album releases 12.11.2015. Watch the trailer below and get his single "Song Cry"(Here) . This album trailer visual is attention grabbing and definitely builds up the anticipation for the album and videos. August Alsina , Payne Lindsey , and the crew did an awesome job .

Every rose needs the rain sometimes. How true is that? Pain and hurt serve as obstacles in life that help us to bloom and evolve. Sometimes we have to let it go and release the tears and hidden emotions. August Alsina's new single "Song Cry" produced by Brandon Hodge is so sincere and true. August speaks on numerous things on the track such as two faced people , undercover haters, trying to figure out which way to go in life , learning how to love, the loss of his brother, hate from his family , and how fame nor money can't get the love that he wants from those close to him, and staying inebriated to distance his mind from hurting . This song is so on point. August also references to contemplating suicide. (So glad he didn't ) . I think it's so important that August is telling his story and letting his supporters know that they can relate. That fame isn't all it's made out to be. That there are still problems and things money can't buy. To anyone that may be reading this if you are in a rough place in your life remember that it's okay to cry, it's okay to ask for help, and it's okay to let people know how you really feel. You can get through it ! It may seem hard now but things will change for the better. If you are thinking of committing suicide please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention hot line 1-800-273-8255. August is for sure letting his soul cry through these words. Even though he's stating that he's hurt by the people around him, he still has their back and still cares for them. This is a real track! I feel it. I'm pretty sure we all have cried once or a couple times because of pain whether internal or external. No matter who you are or what you are a going through a good cry and release of emotion whether its through tears, singing, art, dancing, writing etc , just might make you feel better. Just to get it out of your system. Who knows your story might just inspire someone else to keep going and not give up. I think August is a great and gifted young man.I'll keep him in prayer for sure. August releases his sophomore album "This Thing Called Life" soon. Stay tuned to his Twitter @AugustAlsina for updates.
