THE MOGUL MINUTE : NO BOUNDARIES! NO LIMITS! TYRESE WILL FLY! ( INTERVIEW WITH THE MOGUL GIRL)7/30/2015
Tyrese has mastered The Art of the Hustle. His album "Black Rose" is #1 in 15 countries, #1 on the Top 200 Billboard, 1# on iTunes and #1 on R&B Charts. Tyrese understands that success depends on your hard work and hustle and lets just say the Vision Implementer is hustling his ass off with this album. With millions of fans worldwide Tyrese is loved for his music, acting, books, motivational videos and more. Tyrese is bold in his truth . He is not filtered, very unapologetic, and he's speaking on most of the things that people think but are afraid to say. You have to love a man that is brave, comfortable in his own skin , and doesn't have their pride or ego involved. Bottom line Tyrese is on a God given mission that's bigger than him. It's uncomfortable and it will benefit others more than himself. Tyrese is making a selfless move in the state of R&B. In my interview with Tyrese he expressed that "I don't have a cape, I'm not lacking as a celebrity, no antics and I'm not superman. I'm solid as an entertainer. I use my platform to inspire and give back everything I know as well as give money." Tyrese released Black Rose independently under his own label Voltron Recordz. He has a staff of seven and fifty overall that work for his company. Tyrese emphasized "I wanted to make a statement, show that real R&B fans are still here, to bring back album packaging, and to have real music videos that are real experiences" . Its clear he did just that ! Black Rose definitely made a world-wide statement. Tyrese said "I grew up on Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandros, Tina Marie, The O'Jays, Marvin Gaye, Teddy Pendergrass. I grew up with real music that I was introduced to by parents . Even though they played it while they were drinking , I still got to know music. Its all I Know".
During the interview Tyrese, expressed how appreciative and thankful he was for the world to receive the album on the level that they're receiving it on and that it's bigger than numbers , it's more than being number #1, it's a number #1 with a message and it didn't have 15 rappers on it to get attention. The second single on his Black Rose Album, is "Shame" featuring the beautifully talented Jennifer Hudson. "Shame" is now number #1 on the charts as of this week. The song is powerful and it's definitely a bonafide hit . Tyrese describes the song as having the exact energy to depict what he was going through at the time. With such a powerful song that has such a strong impact you'd think it was all over all of the radio stations right? Wrong. Tyrese addresses the lack of R&B/Soul in mainstream radio. He said "I don't want mainstream to just play my music because I'm black and I sing R&B/Soul I want them to play it because it's a hit record." He also speaks on artist such as Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, and Sam Smith who sing R&B/Soul and their music is played on all stations and his is not. He acknowledged that there's not a racist bone in his body and that those artist are geniously talented and that he loves their music .He's friends with Justin and Robin and he saw Sam Smith perform at Clive Davis: Grammy Party and loved his performance. Tyrese said "My Music has no boundaries , no limits, no sexual preferences point blank period end of story . I'm just frustrated with the limit mainstream radio is putting on my music". His single "Stay" off of his album "Open Invitation which released in 2011 was number #1 on the Billboard for 11 consecutive weeks and it was played on Urban Adult Contemporary and mainstream radio. Radio is so important for artist. Radio helps to make listeners and fans aware of music. He said "I'm thankful and I love Urban Adult Contemporary Radio because we're able to survive, feed our kids, and tour". Remember this is a selfless move that Tyrese is making. He is standing up for R&B and all of the R&B soldiers. He's calling attention to the fact that too many R&B/Soul singers are turning to techno and pop or putting out an album featuring tons of rappers just to get played on mainstream radio. Its a bold step in the right direction. If more people spoke up and weren't afraid to spotlight and speak up about the inequity , things would change for the better. The success of Tyrese's number #1 album has shown that R&B is not dead. That R&B is very much alive. Tyrese did tons of album signings in the U.S and he flew to Abu Dhabi to shown love to his fans. By the way he loves Abu Dhabi and wants to open Voltron Pictures" there (a full functioning film studio). Tyrese is working hard and speaking of films he is releasing his first short film "Shame" . I am so excited an anticipating the film, so of course I had to ask him about it. The Mogul Girl: Mogul Morning Tyrese this is the Mogul Girl of The Mogul Minute Tyrese : Good morning. What's Happening? The Mogul Girl :Congratulations on having the #1 album two weeks in a row? I'm speaking Grammys into existence for you. Tyrese: Thank you, I hope to come home with five of them. My mom told me 15 years ago I would come home with five of them and I laughed at her. The Mogul Girl : They're coming Tyrese : I said "Momma, what are you talking about? So yeah lets see what happens, that would be amazing! The Mogul Girl : Tyrese, I know you were Influenced by the 1999 film "The Hurricane" starring Denzel Washington. Particularly the part when he says "You Can't Break Me, Cause You Didn't Make Me". What does it mean to you to have Denzel Washington produce your short film "Shame"? Tyrese: Oh my God! I mean and you can Google this . I've said for the last eight years or even more that, that I won't feel like I made it as an actor until I work with my hero Denzel Washington. It was because of that movie "The Hurricane" (Rubin Hurricane Carter) so for me to be here and having him producing this short film is definitely a blessing.Definitely life changing. You know he wouldn't do it unless he believed in the actual movie. You know for me to be here is beyond amazing and I'm just very excited and feeling very blessed. The Mogul Girl : I am excited too ! Tyrese : Yeah its crazy! You know the movie is 25 minutes long. It's directed by Paul Hunter. We're hoping to get it into two film festivals Toronto Film Festival and TelluRide. Those are the most influential film festivals before you get into the Oscars. We just hope to land an Oscar. I mean you look at the "Shame" music video , that's the edited down version of the movie that just focuses on the music part. In between the singing is all the acting scenes that's a total of 25 minutes. I'm just very excited about putting this out there. My album is going to be re-released in November called "Black Rose Reloaded" and its going to come with the "Shame" movie, a more extended edit of the making of "Black Rose". It's going to come with my book "Black Rose" which is going to be my third book. It's also going to have six more R&B songs on "Black Rose" which will equal to 20. The third disk is going to be "Black Ty" the hip hop side of the album. So I'm excited about what's about to happen The Mogul Girl : I am too. Thank you Tyrese Tyrese : Thank you , your very welcome The hustle is real. The R&B is real. The message is real! The statement is real and most of all Tyrese and his heart are real. As Tyrese said in his first book "How To Get Out Of Your Own Way" "So do your own thing and elevate yourself to the top". He did that with his own label "Voltron Recordz" and his Voltron Recordz staff. Its definitely a celebration to have the #1 album . He is living in his strength and his truth. He inspires people world wide and me with his God given talents , words, and dreams. Special thanks to Toni Cervantes who let Tyrese audition for that life changing Coca-Cola commercial 20 years ago. Black Rose, is an incredible album. It high lights love and its an experience and that's what R&B/Soul is all about. I loooooooove this album and Tyrese. I can't wait for more videos and I hope "Picture Perfect" definitely is a single. Get the album now! Black Rose Mission is in full affect Its a Voltron Recordz thing!

Black Rose the album is picture perfect. song after song Tyrese has given us the art of his soul. From beginning to end the album is stimulating , smooth, intoxicating, addictive, and a pure classic.I absolutely love it! Trust me this is that "Oooohl child what you know about this type of music". Tyrese has delivered an unforgettable album that just put a new kind of thrill back in to R&B. The album is filled with magical soul, faith, love, heart, and supreme drive. You can't help but fall in love with the honest lyrics and Tyrese's heaven sent vocals.
Its 7:11 A.M and "Prior To You" featuring Tank is flowing through my speakers and I have the biggest smile on my face. Its a beautiful thing when music makes you smile isn't it? That's more than skill, that's art because art makes you feel something. Its deeply an amazing moment when music makes you happy. I definitely think "Prior To You" and "The Rest of Our Lives" featuring Brandy will definitely be played at a lot of weddings. Straight up , Tyrese did his damn thing on this album! It must be said. I know Tyrese has said over and over again this is his last album. I for some reason can't write it because I feel that there's more in him. Black Rose is an experience. You have to purchase it to be able to feel how hot Tyrese turned the heat up with this one. You've heard and watched the videos for his singles Dumb Sh*t and Shame . They were fantastic! Now you have to step into the R&B Planet and prepare to become apart of this Black Rose mission. Black Rose is self evident and wholehearted bliss. Previously to releasing this album on 7.10.2015 for months Tyrese has posted on I.G, Twitter, Facebook, and said in numerous interviews that this album was going to change the game, that this album is honest and true, that Black Rose would be something we could feel and sure enough he stood by his word. He said "Success depends on your hard work and hustle and we all can agree that Tyrese worked hard and hustled because "Black Rose" is 1# album. Congratulations !!!!! I remember getting CD's as a kid and reading the lyrics on the inside jackets and learning all the words. I thought that was so creative of Tyrese to bring this back and add the lyric filled jacket into the Black Rose album. I purchased the deluxe version of the album from Walmart to see the special content on the DVD. The footage shows the process of Tyrese and his team creating Black Rose. We all were given a private look into what happened behind the scenes in Arizona as Tyrese's hand picked team joined forces to create such a wonderul album. The documentary showed how the music was made, the thought and action process, artist having a good time and the outcome. I find it very interesting. All I have to say is thank you God for blessing Tyrese with numerous gifts. Thank you Toni Cervantes for discovering Tyrese 20 years ago. Thank you Tyrese for not living within the opinion of others. Thank you for answering God's emails. Thank you for going to that Coca-Cola commercial audition even though you were late, thank you for implementing your visions and thank you for pulling all those geniuses together in Arizona to create Black Rose. I honestly believe your point that "Through Focus and determination a lot of things come full circle". No matter what happened in your past you got focused and you were determined to become greater and master your environment, now you've created an award winning master piece. Its all about speaking things into existence. Black Rose Love Ya! I have anticipated the release of "Shame" the short film by Tyrese since our interview in March. The passion, imagery, and mirth that he expressed about the song and the short film was beyond intriguing and thought provoking. After he released the song and I purchased it on Google Play I couldn't stop listening to it ( addicted). Tyrese and Jennifer Hudson's voice in sync created an unforgettable perfect harmony. The lyrics of the song are so powerful and tangible. The "Vision Implementer " teamed up with director Paul Hunter and producer Denzel Washington to put together the visual for Shame. The vision that Tyrese implemented unveiled a strong message that is being watched and felt across the globe. "Shame" the short film is praiseworthy. Shame is a phenomenal record. Its a special song that will go down in history as a classic. There's no doubt about it that Tyrese's heart is true , he is standing bold in his truth, and he's bold with a sense of vision . "Black Rose" is a very personal album for Tyrese and the bottom line is that he is letting the world know his experience, because experience is your highest truth. Can you feel this record with your heart? I can. Can you feel it with your mind and spirit ? I can. The short film starring the glamorous Jennifer Hudson and Tyrese as husband and wife covers various real life situations such as cheating , love, drugs, a broken home, internal and external emotional damage, broken trust , loneliness, lust, shame, faith in God, jealousy, and anger. We have all felt ashamed at some point in our lives .Some of us have dealt with it meanwhile others are having a hard time accepting it. Tyrese said in his book " How To Get Out Of Your Own Way" The first step to becoming the master of your environment and getting out of your own way is to own up to the part you are playing in affecting your life. Sure there are external factors , but there are ways to fix them. You can break the negative cycle.
So indeed owning up to your shame and your mistakes can indeed help you unburden your problems, be forgiven , free yourself, change for the better , mend relationships , and stop the pain. In life we learn from mistakes, we learn from shame, we learn from pain, and we learn from each other. Tyrese every little bit of knowledge and self love that you gained put a rung on the latter that has brought you to a better place. Now you are the latter helping your Love Circle climb out of their shame and bloom."Black Rose" is available to pre-order (Here) and follow Twitter @Tyrese and Instagram @Tyrese I'm so excited for this album and can't wait to read "Black Rose" the book. Shame the new single from Tyrese featuring the beautiful Jennifer Hudson has stirred up heavy emotions and feelings world wide. This song carries a deep message that's straight to the point and makes you rethink some things you've done in your life. In my last interview with Tyrese he said "Well I feel like I have a message . My message comes through song. My message comes through hip hop. My message comes through writing this book. My message comes from what they're going to see in this musical short film that I did with Jennifer Hudson.Everything that I do from this point is about art". I agree! Tyrese is given us raw-unfiltered art! Remember art is something you feel, something that touches your soul, your heart, your mind , and your spirit. You can't help but feel the immense emotion, power, love and story that Tyrese is sharing. Tyrese Love Circle is extending , "Shame" is currently #2 on Billboard charts. Tyrese is giving us all nothing but raw truth and pure honesty. His new record "SHAME" is so bona fide and real. If you ever have done something you are ashamed of you can relate to this song. Not only did he use his God given voice to bring forth this story but he also added the angelic, strong, and unforgettable voice of Jennifer Hudson. This song is hard hitting and it definitely will stir up some emotions. When I spoke to Tyrese in March for an interview I asked him "What was his message for his Love Circle" and he gave the perfect answer that identifies with this song so much. He said "My message to the Love Circle is very simple . Forgive faster, hug longer, forgive faster, kiss slower and any issue that you're having in your life between family, friends, and loved ones put the issues on the table and pick them apart an do any means necessary to not allow for unresolved issues to stop you from reconnecting with your family, friends, and loved ones more often because its arrogant to believe that the next seconds of life belong to you." Yes, we all know nothing is perfect but we have to be able to be comfortable in our own skin and bold enough in our own truth. In other words accept the situation at hand , deal with the issues, accept where we mess up our flaws , apologize, forgive, and elevate from there. This record is song is powerful. Stay tuned because Tyrese is releasing a musical short film for "SHAME" that will blow your mind. Purchase "SHAME" on iTunes now (Here) "Black Rose" his double album is on the way 7.7.2015.
