Broadway and Philadelphia’s top talent teams up with former homeless youth at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre for the 11th annual A Night of Broadway Stars, on Monday, June 13 at 5:30 p.m.This year, Covenant House Pennsylvania, the largest shelter specializing in serving homeless youth in Pennsylvania, is celebrating Philadelphia’s rich musical heritage by showcasing some of the area’s top musical stars, including; Justin Hopkins, Jennie Eisenhower, Fran Prisco, Liz Filios, Jody Kidwell and many more incredible performers. Our Philadelphia theatre stars will be teaming up with Broadway renowned stars, including; Rita Harvey, Hugh Panaro, Carter Calvert and Jeff Coon to create an unforgettable celebration of song and dance.
Neil Berg, a Broadway lyricist and composer as well as the creator and co-producer of “100 Years of Broadway,” will be serving as the music director. Performances will be interwoven with personal, life stories from former homeless youth who are successfully transitioning through the Covenant House program. At the conclusion of the evening, the Broadway stars and the youth of Covenant House will perform together in front of hundreds of people in an incredible arrangement of stories and songs. This year, Covenant House will honor Elli Nassivera and Kyra Laushell, students at Pennsbury High School; Wil Reynolds, Founder & CEO of SEER Interactive and Hugh Organ, Associate Executive Director of Covenant House Pennsylvania for their continued support of the Covenant House’s mission. This signature charity event raises funds that directly benefit Philadelphia’s homeless youth through the Covenant House Pennsylvania. WHO: Six Philadelphia-based stars from the Walnut Street Theatre, AVA, Act 2 Playhouse and the Arden will be joining the three Broadway stars.
