"Just to come to get a taste of this A.T.L style
I'm the M.B.P., Most Ballin-ist Player Make my own moves, call me the mayor" - Jermaine Dupri Jermaine Dupri knows style, image, and branding is so critical in ones career. For a total of eight weeks he's sharing so many important rules with his chosen five young artist. Three weeks into The Rap Game , mogul Jermaine Dupri has been straight forward and hasn't pulled any punches with his five young stars or their parents. In Week 1 the kids learned that they had to be prepared for anything that's thrown at them and be able to complete a task. In Week 2 the kids learned the importance of paying attention and being able to keep it real and hit the studio to make a track about what they experienced. This week (week #3) the kids learned about style, image, and following instructions. These are key staples in becoming a star and building a brand. This week Jermaine flew in his stylist April Roomet to assist the kids with their photo shoots. April has styled numerous celebs for 20 years including Lauryn Hill, Bow Wow, and Snoop Dogg, This weeks assignment Jermaine Dupri let the kids know they were going on a shopping spree. You should have seen the excitement in the room! However it all changed when the van pulled up to a GoodWill and April handed each of them $30.00 to get an outfit for a shoot that best represents them. Jermaine Dupri and April expressed to these kids that these looks were important because they could be used to sell their brand or preferably be an album cover one day,so getting a great outfit was the main focus. Lil Poopy said "Jermaine Dupri has like billions of dollars he could've at least gave us $80.00" ( I was cracking up Lil Poopy is so adorable) but Jermaine Dupri said he personally needs to know that these kids can work within a budget and still come out with something fresh. Once they got the green light the kids were off to the races to rack up on some stylish threads. Once their shopping spree was over at cash out time each of the kids stayed on budget except for Supa Peach. Supa Peache's mom Mama Peach slid a few extra bucks the cashiers way to complete her purchase. At check out Nique, Jyn (Jermaine Dupri's Assistant, and April spotted her and took it into account to inform Jermaine Dupri. The shopping spree completed and the kids and their parents prepped for their shoot the next day. Let's just say the kids had an array of different styles, colors, and themes . Miss Mulatto had a futuristic style going on, Young Lyric wanted to keep it country, Supa Peach stayed on her unique swag, Lil Niqo wanted to keep it West, and Lil Poopy wanted to be swaggalicious. Each of the kids were ready to get their pose on and rock out for their pictures. April questioned each of them about the items they were wearing and which pieces actually came from Goodwill. Some of them only had 1 or 2 pieces from the store and added their pre-owned items to complete their look. After they posed in their outfits April gave them a custom outfit that she chose. Once this task was officially over the kids headed back home and April headed to meet with Jermaine Dupri. They reviewed all the photos together and then it was time for Jermain's Hit List. During the time Jermaine and April were reviewing the photos with the kids Supa Peach was rapping and Jermaine and April took it as disrespect. For the past three weeks Jermaine has emphasized that the rap game is serious and you can't be playing around . Even though these artist are young the business is big and they have to be on point at all times for the simple fact that they never know who's watching them. Jermaine kicked off his HIT LIST like this 1- Lil Poopy 2-Miss Mulatto 3- Lil Niqo 4-Young Lyric 5-Supa Peach Wow Lil Poopy made a big jump from #1 to #5. There are five more weeks of The Rap Game . Five more weeks until Jermaine Dupri picks his next artist for his So So Def Record label. So stay tuned to #TheRapGame Fridays at 10 on LifetimeTV!
