The beautiful songstress Ciara once said " Education is everything – education is your power, education is your way in life for whatever you want to do". The Power of Inspiration Community Choice Youth Award from 365 Black is providing an opportunity for young women to pursue college. McDonald’s, in an effort to continue their support of education initiatives in the community, is accepting nominations for the Community Choice Youth Award, which is presented to one young and inspiring female youth nominee with a $10,000 scholarship for use at the college/ university of her choice.
Nominations are accepted until May 31 at www.365Black.com. Nominators must complete an entry form, answer three questions about the nominee and submit a three‐minute video highlighting her contribution to the community.
The Award is open to young women between the ages of 13 and 18 who make a difference within their community, resulting in significant local, regional, national or global impact.
In addition to the scholarship, the honoree will receive travel and accommodations to New Orleans and be honored alongside celebrities, philanthropists and influencers at the 365Black Power of Inspiration Awards Luncheon and taking place Sunday, July 2, 2017 during the 23rd annual ESSENCE Festival® presented by Coca‐Cola®.
The Community Choice Youth Award aligns with the goals of the Philadelphia Black McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association (PBMOA), a dedicated group of African-American franchisees who celebrate being deeply rooted in the community 365 days a year by getting involved in various different initiatives including a back pack giveaway that helps send local students back to school prepared and ready to learn.
