The Hip Hop Institute is proud to announce Brooklyn's own award winning, racial justice and civil rights social media maverick , and mother of three, Linda Sarsour. She will serve as a keynote speaker at Medgar Evers College on July 12, 2017 . As one of the key organizers of The Women's March on Washington. Linda Sarsour is a Palestinian- Muslim-American born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She is the outgoing Executive Director of the Arab American Association of New York and the co-founder of the first Muslim online organizing platform, MPower Change. Linda is a leading force of activists, artists, youth and formerly incarcerated individuals committed to criminal justice reform through direct action and policy advocacy. All in all she has emerged as one of this generation's most motivational and inspiring leaders. The 13th Annual Hip Hop Festival will feature Niambi Sala and Thandiwe aka OSHUN , exclusive guest DJ set by Mister Cee , and legendary DJ duo Stretch & Bobbito. They will all be joined by Festival house DJ, Rob Swift, as well as hosts Uncle Ralph McDaniels and Torae .More artist for the Finale Concert will be announced soon .
