First Lady Michelle Obama once said " Success isn't about how much money you make , it's about the difference you make in people's lives". It's so important that every day we not only better our selves but try to uplift the world around us. The Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network salutes women that are making a big difference in the world. On November 16, 2016 tons of powerful ladies stepped out for a victorious occasion aka the WEEN awards. Over a hundred ladies joined together to network, honor, and support business, philanthropy, and entertainment. Founder and CEO of WEEN, Valeisha Butterfield coordinated a star studded pink carpet for such a glamorous evening. Midwin Charles, Meagan Goode, Jazmyn Nology, DJ Olivia Dope, Shantelle Tamara, Teyana Taylor, Geneva Reed-Veal ( The mother of Sandra Bland) , Dia Simms, Elaine Welteroth, Angela Yee, Yara Shahidi, Kristi Luv, Xo Necole, Keri Hilson, June Ambrose, Ethiopia Habtemariam, Sabrina Thompson, Giselle Phelps, Lil Kim, Lauren Lake, and so many others attended the show . A few of the women even scored an award for their hard-work and dedication. You can read the award recipients below. All in all it is a must that we as women continue to come together and celebrate one another's victories instead of putting each other down. The ladies were all smiles as they slayed in their stylish attire. The Source Magazine's own L. Londell McMillan , and so many happy guest attended the sold out show. Although I wasn't in the building , I attended vicariously through social media. I definitely hope to be there next year. The sisterhood is strong and the love and excitement for epic greatness is real. I am so proud of every woman that is going after a dream , defeating the odds, exploring new journeys, and not letting anything stop them. We are amazing, empowered, and beautiful. Walik Goshorn and Simone Smalls provided excellent photos and content. She Knows Now also took time to thank Escape NY, Jet Blue, and Ciroc. Huge shout out to HER Source and the entire WEEN Network.
