CLEAN WATER ISN'T AN OPTION, IT'S A NECESSITY TO LIVE

  Take a step back ! Pause for a minute ! Look around at all the materialistic necessities  we take for granted.  For example our hot water, food, our cell phones, clothes, houses money, our toilet. Yes, our toilet! Could you imagine not having a toilet at all ? Where would you go to the bathroom ? What would you do ? How would you handle your business ? Studies show people spend more time on the toilet than exercising . Some of us spend more time talking or using our phones rather than going.
     I recently became aware of "World Toilet Day"  through Global Citizen ( November 19) . This date is an official United Nations international observance day that shines a light on the global sanitation crisis. Each year public education campaigns and events raise awareness about the issue.
     Half the world's population doesn't have access to clean , safe, or a working toilet. To ensure healthy communities and a clean environment, governments also need to prioritize safe toilet waste treatment - especially in cities where waste is a growing issue. Without waste treatment, poop ends up in drinking water .
    According to the World Health Organization 842, 000 people in low- and middle-income countries die as a result of inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene each year, representing 58% of total diarrhoeal deaths. Poor sanitation is believed to be the main cause in some 280,000 of these deaths. Diarrhea remains a major killer but is largely preventable. Better water, sanitation, and hygiene could prevent the deaths of 361, 000 children aged under 5 years each year. The 1 million Puerto Ricans struggling to find clean water now share the experience of 2.1 billion individuals around the world who lack access to safe drinking water, according the World Health Organization’s latest report.
    On Water.Org the statistics show that every 90 seconds a child dies from a water-related disease . Woman spend up to 6 hours every day walking to collecting water, and 1/3 of all schools lack sanitation. Imagine having to walk miles to a well to get water , and you have to walk miles to bring it home.  Children have to leave school because of this problem. The water crisis is global , it affects everyone including India, Nigeria, Zimbawe, China, Egypt, Brazil ! Don't forget Flint Michigan residents still don't have clean water.    Not having water affects bathing , cooking , drinking, and going to the bathroom. These are necessities. I'm sure a lot of people purchased must have items on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but water is a must have !
All of these people in countries across the globe don't have the access to clean water this has to change or children, men , and women, will continue to lose their lives. These six inventions could help with clean water
