"Everybody wants something . Gotta want something. What are you living for? Everybody needs something" these are lyrics from Rihanna's 2011 song "We All Want Love". It's true we all do want love, support, and help from one another . Last year Rihanna was the headliner for the 2016 Global Citizen Festival. This year Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation and Global Citizen Foundation visited Malawi, Africa where the Muzu school is located. The average income is 90 cents per day and 50% of the population live below the poverty line. The Clara Lionel Foundation has partnered with the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen to advocate for strong education systems that ensure the world's poorest kids can get a quality education. Rihanna sat down with the minister of education, science, and technology , the prime minister of Australia, the CEO Hugh Evans of Global Citizen and other educational officials to see first hand what the students and teachers experience and learn how they could unite to make a difference. In one class alone there might be 100 kids to one teacher. Education is cherished but also can't be afforded by all families . So the drop out rate rises due to poverty. The lack of books, food, rainy weather , no chalk, and sickness causes a lot of problems. There are so many challenges that girls face including travel challenges , arranged child marriages, and the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Watching this documentary and seeing Rihanna interact with the kids was just beautiful. She just brought so much light to them as they did to her. She taught math , played, and read to the kids. You can tell how much she cared and that she isn't giving up until a change is made. It was just an awesome feeling to see how smart the kids are and how much they love school despite it's challenges. The 14 year old who narrated the video wants to be a business man in the future. Rihanna called on her Navy to target Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to ask him to step up in support of education. She then engaged in a twitter back-and-forth with former French President Francois Hollande where he ultimately declared ‘education is my number one priority . She's at it again, but this time she has not one or two, but 20 of the world’s most powerful leaders in her sights. As GPE’s Global Ambassador, Rihanna is standing with GPE and its Chair, Julia Gillard, to call for an historic step-change in financing for education, and on the G20 and other donors to step up and #FundEducation at GPE’s next replenishment so it can raise $3.1B between 2018 and 2020. That's $3.1B that can build new classrooms, fund books, teachers, water sources, fees, uniforms and, most importantly, a higher quality of education for over 870 million kids. However , we need the world’s richest countries to lead the pack. In July, the G20 will meet in Hamburg and set an ambitious agenda they can work together on. Rihanna and Global Citizen need your help in the coming month to make sure education is at the top of that list. "Together is powerful. You share your knowledge and skills. Together is powerful. Promote eachother. Together is powerful. America came together. Africa to came together. Europe came together". Narrated by a 14 year old male student at the Muzu Primary School.

WRITTEN BY Diddy is a father , multi award winner, artist, producer, entrepreneur, actor, innovator and the list stretches for miles. As a highly successful business man , he's always shared motivational information to push you to excel and follow your dreams. In 2014 Diddy, a former student of Howard University attended the graduation ceremony and gave the Commencement Speech. During the speech Diddy thanked the staff and his mother for working hard to get him through school. He also told the graduates, that in order to be successful they have to be real with themselves , be honest , and to go out and get it. He said "It won't be easy but there's no rescue team coming". He wanted the class of 2014 to know that they have to get up earlier, stay later, and push pass doubters and haters to achieve greatness . He also informed them not to be afraid to fail, to be decisive, and to remember the power of you. That no matter how dark it gets, no matter how hard you fall, that you have to "Remember the power of you and that you are your own light". Wow! Those words are powerful words to live by! I attended college but didn't get to graduate college so I always find Commencement Speeches to be enlightening and exciting. If I was in attendance at that graduation, I would cherish those words forever. Diddy takes education seriously and wants the younger generation to be leaders and to dream big.
