Whether she's rocking a short cut, curls or colorful waist long braids she's defining her own style and living her own truth. She definitely serves up fashionable flavors daily from jeans , crop tops, to gorgeous red carpet looks. People may throw shade on social media and internet blogs but none of it is stopping the young beautiful actress, song writer, dancer, entrepreneur, and business woman from winning and continuing to succeed. She's still growing as an adult as we all are. This young history maker has tons of accomplishments under her belt already and she has so much more to achieve. There's a quote by the great Alice Walker that says “Don’t wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get you’ve got to make yourself.” KeKe Palmer isn't waiting . She's making her own happiness. That's the true gag! Like it or not she doesn't belong to you. Lloyd's single "Tru" is definitely one of my favorite songs of 2016. After hearing it for the first time a few months ago I instantly fell in love with the track. It was kind of ironic because a few weeks before that I was listening to "Street Love" thinking man we really need another Lloyd album. I reached out to Lloyd via Twitter to tell him how much I liked "Tru" and he tweeted back. The TRU EP released 12/9 on all music arenas including iTunes, Google Play, Tidal, and Spotify. The single "TRU" is an anthem about being true to yourself. Lloyd touches on the trouble he's had in his personal life and industry life. How he had to revamp and get a new team to keep his dream alive. He wants to be accepted for being himself and doing what he wants to do. If you've ever felt neglected or not accepted you can relate to this song. A lot of times so many downs happen that we try to hide them and high light the ups. Meanwhile we're hurting. However freeing ourselves comes from just being ourselves and letting the hurt pain and trouble out others not only can relate but can understand. He also talks about the pain of losing a baby and not understanding why. Yet he kept his relationship with the Lord and took care of his family through it all. He just wants to be true and that's all it's about. All in all the TRU EP is a sincere project from the curly head black boy named Lloyd. It features Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz."Heaveny Body" featuring Rick Ross is sexy, sultry, and smooth. This is definitely going to be a ladies favorite. "Holding" featuring Lil Wayne is definitely a much needed track. Lil Wayne and Lloyd collaborated in 2007 on the chart topping song "You". So for them to link up for this steamy track is super lit. They have a chemistry that just fits perfect together. "Excited" is just like the title of the song. It's exciting . This track has an old school yet new school vibe. It definitely makes you want to dance and rock out to song. It just one of those sizzling hot songs. Lloyd turned up all the way with this one. The beat on it is super duper duper alluring ! Tru Remix featuring 2 Chainz added the hardship of not having heat , hot water, and having to leave people behind to just love life. S/o to A-Major, Jasper, Big Mike, Justice League , Ralph Cee, and Firas on the production and engineering . Okay let's all agree that we're so happy to have Lloyd back. I sure am! Now I can't wait for the full album.

There is a Bantu Proverb that says " The eye never forgets what the heart has seen." J.Cole released his fourth album "4 Your Eyez Only" December 9, 2016 after releasing his "Eyez" documentary, and videos for "False Prophets" and "Everybody Dies". J.Cole always shakes the internet and music world up with his lay it on the line, solidness, and straight forwardness. "4 Your Eyez Only" takes you on an expedition through the mind, heart, soul, and eyes of J.Cole as he recounts everything that has made him into the man, husband, father, and vessel he is today. Have you heard the quote " The eyes are the mirror to the soul?" Mirrors are used in this saying as a reference to reflecting on ones life. Sometimes we have to reflect on the past to be able to deal with the present and the future. So let's get into why this album is so powerful.
1.) For Whom The Bell Tolls
English Poet John Donne wrote a poem entitled " For Who The Bell Tolls" the poem emphasizes that because we are all alive , that the loss of one of us a humans is a loss to everyone. On this song J.Cole refers that pain , pressure, confusion and death can not be escaped. That even through hopes and prayers death still comes to us all. So the loss of some one close affects others.
Growing up in the hood isn't easy. Wanting more and having less. The pain is unforgettable. Crime , selling drugs, losing friends to the streets. Watching a family member being taken to jail. All of this is forever immortalized because the pain never leaves. J.Cole touches on the fact that people tend to love you more when you die. He also sheds light on how black you men are categorized to either be rappers, sell drugs, or play sports instead of being educated or having other careers. He also mentions "Strange Fruit" a poem by Abel Meeropol sang by Billie Holiday which talked about the blood shed of blacks whom were killed by lynchings. Yet modern day lynchings are still happening by cops against black young males.
3.) Deja Vu
This track embraces a story of unexpected young love, being attracted to some one even though they may be with some one else. Beauty and dreaming. He raps about "Every winner got a lose some day". So he's referring to the person she's dating . The guy is obviously winning cause they have her, but he's about to lose her to him.
4.) Ville Mentality
This song is major . Often times where we grow up shapes our minds, personalities, and actions. J.Cole grew up in Fayetville, North Carolina. He had a close-freind to gun violence. On this song a little girl tells how her father was setup , shot and killed. She also mentions how she didn't go to his funeral and how sometimes she gets mad at her mom for being mean to her and she wishes her dad was here. The street mentality often leads to more pain . His friends life was taken. The little girl who is speaking on the track expresses the pain of losing her father.
5.)She's Mine Part 1
J.Cole is a married man. This song is a staple on his album. For one social media has affected so many relationships. J.Cole doesn't blast his personal life or marriage on social media. Their relationship and marriage is beautifully theirs. On this song he expressed how love changed his life. Men sometimes have a problem with opening up because they haven't had a father or male figure to show them how to express themselves and how to really let someone in. That hurt from growing without a proper example affected one so deep that love seemed so distant. Yet the love is found and here to stay.
Having a relationship with the Lord can change your life like never before. Better days come when you reflect, meditate, get stronger, and asking for forgiveness. J.Cole expresses how God knows us so he understands all of are faults and that no matter what God is still around. Change comes from inside. He also talks about the battle with fame and being himself. But he states he will be a vessel for the truth. It is at the end of the song that he talks about his friend "22 year old James" who was killed.
When you get the chance to move out the hood into a good neighborhood and you're black , the neighbors assume you are a drug dealer. J.Cole discussed wanting privacy, getting away from the fame, not having fancy cars, and just trying to live a better life. He mentions "So much for integration" Stating that even though the laws were passed for blacks and whites to be together, they still don't want blacks in their neighborhoods, stores, schools, establishments, etc.
8.) Foldin Clothes
It's all about the simple things in a relationship and life that show love. J.Cole talks about seeing his wife pregnant asleep and that all he wants to do is make her happy and be with her. So he talks about folding clothes as an example to show that something as small as that can mean so much. He talks about being present and balanced. We get so distracted by our phones and life problems that we aren't really present our minds are somewhere else. Yet this time J.Cole is saying that he wants to just spend time with the woman he loves and connect, watch movies, and just enjoy each other. At the end of the song he states that "N*ggas from the hood are the best actors" because they have to not smile and be tough all the time to the point where they believe it so much they forget the simple things like love, happiness, and a future beyond the streets.
9.)She's Mine Part 2
It is here that we hear the pride and joy of J.Cole's heart. His daughter has arrived. We hear her cries. This song just opens you to his heart as a man, husband and father. That his daughter is a gift from God. That all his life has been a fight to get to this very point where his daughter is born. He said " F*ck this album look what God made". This song is just perfect and soul-felt.
Congratulations to him and wife Melissa. Cole also discusses greed from corporations , spending money with big business meanwhile the people that can't afford it remain in a no money cycle trying to fit in for things such as Black Friday.
10.) 4 Your Eyez Only
J.Cole delivers the story of his friend James who he informed us was killed earlier in the album. His friend had felonies and couldn't get a real job to support his daughter so he remained in the streets although he wanted to stop and J.Cole tried to steer him away from it .His friend feels like he might not see his daughter grow up because he might lose his life but hopes he doesn't . Yet James prays that he could be with her in spirit if he does. He prays she won't date a guy simialar to himself and how she might have misuderstood feelings about him for not being around. He refers to the fact that he also lost his dad to gun violence so he know what it feels like. He tells how he told her mom to name her "Nina". Nina is the little girl you heard speaking on "Ville Mentality". James wants his daughter to date a guy with goals and not someone that would leave her future child fatherless because he's either dead or incarcerated. He says he hoped that this story doesn't have to be told because he'd still be around but he already has a feeling he won't be. J.Cole talks about the last convo he had with James. That even though they grew up from children to adults their paths were different. James was having premontions of his death and that he wanted J.Cole to be the one that told his story to Nina. He even tells Cole he thinks life would be better if we stayed segregated but J.Cole realizes if that happened he himself wouldn't be here because his father is black and mother is white. Yet J.Cole tells the story to Nina that her dad wasn't real because all of the street life , he was real because he loved her. In other words James risked everything about his life to go get it and provide for his daughter that he loved but he ended up losing his life because of it.
J.Cole tells multiple intertwining stories on this album that connect to a bigger picture. From his eyes to our hearts. This verisimilitude of this album is one to be respected and held dear. The album sheds light on so many situations including mass incarceration , growing up with out a father, lack of affection, maturing, love, success, racial categorization ( assuming blacks have to be in entertainment, sports, or sell drugs) , econimic greed, killings by blacks or whites, and so much more . There's so much you can learn from this album. I literally sat there listening to the "4 Your Eyez Only " blowed away by J.Cole's truthfulness and his ability to put this album together so poetically raw. He also talked about having a relationship with Lord Jesus is important and I must say honestly the more you walk with him , the more things change for the better. The album is amazing ! Congratulations, J.Cole again on another successful album, your marriage and daughter.

THE MOGUL MINUTE : LISTEN TO THE SPEAKER COWBOY BEEBOP IS THE KEY NOTE ( EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW) WITH @THEMOGULGIRL
Cowboy Beebop is definitely one of Philly's illest young MC's . From his versatility to crush beats to his clever and eloquent vocabulary , he is guaranteed to draw you into his zone. Cowboy Beebop has released songs on his soundcloud as well as a few solo projects including "Dear Jane" and "SATURDAY". His flow is very unique and his lyrics are authentic. He has a style and creativity that is needed in the music scene. You can't just listen to one of his songs, you definitely have to play a couple more . Cowboy Beebop's music gives off that intelligent, productive, chill, celebration, yet still hood, prepared for good things in the future, relative, I love my family and supporters, type of vibe. All in all his ability to combine numerous vibes in multiple songs is for sure what relates to his fans and the streets. Cowboy Beebop deserves recognition for his dedication to his dreams and his passion for music . So check out my exclusive interview with him below.
1. The Mogul Girl : What made you love music ?
Cowboy Beebop : I've been in love with music since the womb. My mom and pop actually met at a rap contest at the community center at 27th and Daulphin. My mom won the competition and my pop won her.So I feel like I never got a chance to fall in love with music .It just was always there, like a apart of me.
2.) The Mogul Girl : Who or what inspires you ?
Cowboy Beebop : I'm a very aesthetic person. I see the beauty in all forms of art. Rather it be visually or sonically. I go to art museums, plays, concerts, dance offs etc.., I draw inspiration from all these different outlets. That's why all my projects are conceptual. Cause I draw from these things then re-interpret them through my music. Far as a person Kid Cudi . He's the complete artist.
3.) The Mogul Girl : Favorite lyrics from a song of yours ?
Cowboy Beebop : "Get Free". A song from my mixtape called "Saturday." I say "Mama tell me face-time/but I never take time/I be on a straight grind/Girl I gotta make mine/She don't never judge me cause she love me like I'm Fazon/She just scared to lose me to the system like Trayvon" . I was basically saying that I been working so hard that I barely have the time to deal with anyone on a social level, not even my mother. Also explaining how my mother was afraid for me because of all the police violence toward black folks at the time.
4.) The Mogul Girl : Is it anything you want your fans to know ?
Cowboy Beebop : I miss they (***) lol . I'm sick that I let them down . I'm going through a growth stage and I hope they're willing to go through it with me I'll be hone soon.
5.)The Mogul Girl : How do you think you impact the game?
Cowboy Beebop : I feel like I'm the bridge between the gangsters and the hipsters at least at a local level. I am the beautiful contradiction. The hood N**** who can crowd surf at Powerhouse or SXSW. The artist who's on the same wave as the Uzi's and Thuggas but can rap like the Nas and Jay-Z and get respected by the J-Prince's and Shug Knight's.
6.) The Mogul Girl : If you could work on a song with any artist who would it be and why ?
Cowboy Beebop : Probably PartyNextdoor. Dude just knows how to capture a certain mood in his music. I would love to learn how to do that. Plus, I think our chemistry would be heavy,
7.)The Mogul Girl : If you could do a song with any artist who would it be and why?
Cowboy Beebop : It's a documentary by Big Sean called the "Road To Hall Of Fame". It's about his creative process while he was making his second album. I watch this jawn and it bring it bring me right back.
8.)The Mogul Girl : Most cherished lesson you learned in life ?
Cowboy Beebop : Most cherished lesson would be the law of attraction. When you have a clear picture of what you want and you focus and work towards it, the universe brings things in your life that help you achieve it .
9) The Mogul Girl : What does Philly mean to you ?
Cowboy Beebop : It's home. I have a love/hate relationship with the city.I've been to a lot of different cities and nobody has their own swag like Philly male or female. Everywhere we go we standout. But on the negative : The city is to hard (lol) . We don't gotta be ganster all the time. We gotta learn to embrace the fact that we're all different . Some n***** are street dudes , some dudes are hipsters . It's too cliquey.
10.) The Mogul Girl : Tell me what you want listeners to gain from your music ?
Cowboy Beebop : An understanding of me. My lyrics are so personal. Which I do intentionally. I want people to feel like they know me. I want my fans to be my friends , that way I'll be good no matter where I go in the world. Also if I can give some kind of insight on doing what you want with your life and not what people think you should, then I'm happy with that.
11.)The Mogul Girl : What was your dream growing up ?
Cowboy Beebop : My dream was and still is to be remembered. I'm scared to die as a nobody and have death and time destroy my legacy.

Big Sean recently released two new singles "No More Interviews" produced by Amaire Johnson and Sean. "Bounce Back" is produced by Metro Boomin ,Hitmaka & Smash David, Metro Boomin & Amaire Johnson. The Detroit lyricist always delivers exciting , super swagged, A1 songs . Recently he performed at the Hillary Clinton " Get Out To Vote Rally " which also featured Jay Z , Beyonce, J.Cole, and Chance The Rapper. Big Sean definitely locked down the stage with performances of his new tracks and a couple of throw backs. His career is definitely showing that one man can change the world. That no matter who you are as long as you continue to believe , you can do it all while inspiring others. The youth are the future so Big Sean started his Sean Anderson Foundation which helps Detroit youth in areas of education, safety, health, and over all well being. The foundation works with school aged and disadvantage youth from across the nation. Big Sean is a very busy guy . He's 1/2 of the duo Twenty88 with the beautiful songstress and writer Jhene Aiko . He's also the latest artist to collaborate with Adidas and Stance Socks . Big Sean is hustling to the max and doing it all it his original style and glory. So after watching Big Sean's performance the other night I tweeted the picture he took with Jay-Z and J.Cole. and he liked my Tweet. Cool right? I've always wanted to interview Big Sean because I knew it would be an inspiring, fun, and enlightening interview. Big Sean talks about reading, meditation , parts of his life, bossing up, and so much more in his music. So I know that it would be a very key interview. So when I heard his song "No More Interviews" for the first time, I instantly made up my mind, that one day I have to get that interview done. I've always been the interviewer to ask questions that would make the interviewee feel comfortable, happy, connected, and intrigued. there's no need to talk about drama or gossip when there's so many dreams , creative ideas, achievement, goals, positivity , and important topics to discuss. I believe in speaking things into existence. Big Sean holds tight to the memories of his come up , how his life changed, and making his dreams comes to pass. I'd title my interview with Big Sean "Dreams From The D" because one he's from Detroit , he reps his city, and the very dreams he had in his home town, in his high school, and in his home helped him to travel the world and become Big Sean the super-star we all know today. So when I get my chance to interview Big Sean here's what I'd ask him
1.) You read a lot. If you could describe your life as a book. What would be the title and why ?
2.) So I take it you have a new album coming out . Tell me about it but If you could go back in time and be featured on an 80's classic , which song would it be?
3.) Since starting the Sean Anderson Foundation, what has been your most cherished memory ?
4.) You're super stylish, what was it like to become a collaborator with Adidas and Stance Socks ?
5.) You've toured a lot and traveled the world. Where's you favorite place to eat?
6.) What's one lesson that you learned as a child/teen that you will never forget?
7.) Would you write your own book ?
8.) If you could president for the day , what is the first 3 things you'd do?
9.)On "No More Interviews" you say "I realize it ain't what you have, it's what you feel, that's what true success is". So what do you feel ?
10.) We all have a bounce back moment in our lives what helps you bounce back ?
11.) What have you spoken into existence ?
Congratulations it's the m***** ******* chasers. The highly anticipated album "DC4" by Meek Mill released on October 27,2016 the day before he headlined Power 99's annual Powerhouse Concert here in Philly. If you follow me on Twitter it's full of Meek lyrics right now. I've been waiting for this since DWMTM (that went #1 in case you forgot) The internet is still buzzing about the DC4 and so are the charts. Yesssssss his new album is coming in at the number one spot on various charts as it should. DC4 features his queen Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Don Q, Young Thug, 21 Savage, YFN Lucci, Tracy T, Pusha T, Guordon Banks, French Montana, and Lil Snupe (R.I.P to Lil Snupe). Meek definitely took his time with this project and worked with Jahlil Beats, SR Beats, OZ,Rara, Pyro, Tarik Azzouz, Sonny Digital, Dj Ryu, Beat Bully, Butter Beats, and MP808 to name a few. The lyrics are fire, the beats are dope, and the videos to accompany the album are litty. Despite what the media says about him he doesn't quit and he continues to do his thing. So last year I dropped an article on The Mogul Minute about why 2015 was big for Meek so of course I had to drop one about 2016. So let's get in to it!
1. DC4 LIFE
First of all , I love this album. I think Meek wanted us to really feel his story, feel his pain, be motivated , get stronger , and shine on everybody that doubted or prayed for a downfall. He chose really dope artist to feature on his album. So the versatility and creative collaborations are major. The album def has a song you're going to feel heavy. He def is letting everybody know that he's Blessed Up and that You Know he's going to keep it Litty . Blue Notes is one of my favorite songs. Again this album is Way Up on the charts we're talking #1. Now that's how you Shine On The Regular . So at the end of Tony Story 3 did you all peep the part four gone be a movie ? Maybe we might actually get a full movie style - visual for all of Tony Story. His wrist still Froze and he proudly wears his D.C. chains so we can see that s***. The Difference, Lights Out, Two Wrongs, Offended, definitely are hot tracks. So from track one to the outro "DC4Life" is straight heat.
2. HIS SON PAPI STARTED KINDERGARTEN
Meek posted this picture of Papi on Instagram in celebration of him starting Kindergarten. That definitely is a big moment to be proud of. It's good to see this. Meek is a proud dad before anything and he is happy to give his son the opportunities and the life he didn't have.
3. MEEK AND NICKI STILL LIVE TOGETHER !!!
On "Froze" Nicki said "Meek and I still live together" and Meek told Noisey Raps in a recent interview that " I wake up in my bed and I just look at Nicki , like man this sh*t has gotta be a dream because we used to dream all this sh*t and it's just going on right now ". So haters might as well give it up , they winnnnn! Both Nicki and Meek had another successful year. Nicki covered Marie Claire magazine and did a very heart felt interview about her career , her life, being a boss, girl power, her upcoming TV series, Yonce and Jay-Z, and how black women also carry the weight of racism and murders of husbands and boyfriends. Nicki also released her eighth fragrance Trini Girl. These two have been putting in work as always . You can't help but be proud of that!! Ouuuuuuuuuuuuu!
4. MEEK RELEASED HIS NEW DREAMCHASER COLLECTION SNEAKER "BLAZE OF GLORY AND BASKET " WITH PUMA
Meek's "Blaze Of Glory And Basket" sneaker collaboration with Puma released in July. The sneaker launch was held at Foot Locker in the Roosevelt Mall in Philly. Meek signed autographs and took pics with the supporters that came out to see the debut of the sneaker inspired by Philly and Bike Life.
5. MEEK WAS FEATURED ON THE SOUNDTRACK FOR BIRTH OF A NATION
The song "Black Moses" by Pusha T ,Meek Mill, and Priscilla Renea is featured on the soundtrack. The track is one of sixteen songs that add a musical story to the importance of Nate Parker's film. The track idiscusses slavery, fighting for freedom, injustice, incarceration, and believing in God to handle it. The soundtrack features major artist and all of them helped to make a project and create perfect songs for such a powerful film.
6. HE DROPPED A LITTY FREESTYLE ON FUNK FLEX
The freestyle said it all! He ripped this.
Meek puts on for Philly. He's chasing his dreams and living them at the same time. He work hard it's evident. So it's obvious that all you gotta do is not give up . No matter what people say as long as you believe in yourself and stay focused , you can do anything!
I had to drop this article. Make sure you read last years article if you all haven't yet.
THE MOGUL MINUTE : SEASON 2 OF JERMAINE DUPRI'S "THE RAP GAME" IS ALL ABOUT THAT FIRE !! ( THE MOGUL GIRL)
This season of The Rap Game is all about that fire. Jermaine Dupri is looking to add another member to his So So Def family and he's not playing any games . This time his expectations are much higher and he's bringing in a host of celeb friends to join in on the fun . So for the next ten weeks we get to see these youngins do their thang on The Rap Game.
The show started with a group of seven young artist who've accumalated tons of views online meet up with Jermaine Dupri's assistant Jny Flowers . Jny introuduced them to J.D, Da Brat, Brian Michael Cox, and Timbaland whom all were anticipating the performance from each up and comer. Finally it's showtime and and Jermaine is ready to see who's gonna bring that heat.
Lil Key of Baltimore went first. He quoted Eminem lyrics "You only get one shot" . Lil Key definitely knows that he has to come with i it in order to stay in this competition. Next up was Nia Kay the "Dutchess of Chicago". Nia announced that she has Diabetes Type 1 and that music is her outlet. Nia verse got everybody hype including Timbaland who danced and hugged her after her performance .
Tally, 16 of Nashville started to rap but forgot her verse . Sometimes when you got it good you forget sometimes . Jayla Marie of Stanton Island,NY wanted to show that she could sing and rap and that it's a completion not a collaboration. Mini Barbie Young rapper hailing form the ATL ran out of breath during her performance. Swagged out Young artist Mani, came prepared but he messed up. We all mess up sometimes but hey it's The Rap Game and just like season 1 you have to stay focused and be on point. The Prince of NY is lyrical and he impressed the whole panel. Da Brat joked that you're gonna need a encyclopedia to understand him.
One things for sure is that these young artist want to be in the game but, are they ready? After each artist auditioned for their spot Jermaine Dupri announced that there would be an elimination. If you landed a spot on the couch then you could continue on in the competition . Everybody landed a spot except for Mini Barbie . The super - cute young artist said she didn't feel he made the right decision.
So Jermaine Dupri had the final 6 write raps about the other artists in the crib and deliver the verse in front of him and Snoop Dogg. Can you imagine spitting a verse in front of Snoop D-O-G-G? That's wassup. Jermaine Dupri is definitely turning it up in season 2 . So it's times for the hit list.
4..Prince Of NY
So Mini Barbie and Tally were eliminated from the The Rap Game.
Yall are definitely in for some surprises this season so it's time to stay in your lane and check into The Rap Game.
