THE MOGUL MINUTE : LISTEN TO THE SPEAKER COWBOY BEEBOP IS THE KEY NOTE ( EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW) WITH @THEMOGULGIRL
Cowboy Beebop is definitely one of Philly's illest young MC's . From his versatility to crush beats to his clever and eloquent vocabulary , he is guaranteed to draw you into his zone. Cowboy Beebop has released songs on his soundcloud as well as a few solo projects including "Dear Jane" and "SATURDAY". His flow is very unique and his lyrics are authentic. He has a style and creativity that is needed in the music scene. You can't just listen to one of his songs, you definitely have to play a couple more . Cowboy Beebop's music gives off that intelligent, productive, chill, celebration, yet still hood, prepared for good things in the future, relative, I love my family and supporters, type of vibe. All in all his ability to combine numerous vibes in multiple songs is for sure what relates to his fans and the streets. Cowboy Beebop deserves recognition for his dedication to his dreams and his passion for music . So check out my exclusive interview with him below.
1. The Mogul Girl : What made you love music ?
Cowboy Beebop : I've been in love with music since the womb. My mom and pop actually met at a rap contest at the community center at 27th and Daulphin. My mom won the competition and my pop won her.So I feel like I never got a chance to fall in love with music .It just was always there, like a apart of me.
2.) The Mogul Girl : Who or what inspires you ?
Cowboy Beebop : I'm a very aesthetic person. I see the beauty in all forms of art. Rather it be visually or sonically. I go to art museums, plays, concerts, dance offs etc.., I draw inspiration from all these different outlets. That's why all my projects are conceptual. Cause I draw from these things then re-interpret them through my music. Far as a person Kid Cudi . He's the complete artist.
3.) The Mogul Girl : Favorite lyrics from a song of yours ?
Cowboy Beebop : "Get Free". A song from my mixtape called "Saturday." I say "Mama tell me face-time/but I never take time/I be on a straight grind/Girl I gotta make mine/She don't never judge me cause she love me like I'm Fazon/She just scared to lose me to the system like Trayvon" . I was basically saying that I been working so hard that I barely have the time to deal with anyone on a social level, not even my mother. Also explaining how my mother was afraid for me because of all the police violence toward black folks at the time.
4.) The Mogul Girl : Is it anything you want your fans to know ?
Cowboy Beebop : I miss they (***) lol . I'm sick that I let them down . I'm going through a growth stage and I hope they're willing to go through it with me I'll be hone soon.
5.)The Mogul Girl : How do you think you impact the game?
Cowboy Beebop : I feel like I'm the bridge between the gangsters and the hipsters at least at a local level. I am the beautiful contradiction. The hood N**** who can crowd surf at Powerhouse or SXSW. The artist who's on the same wave as the Uzi's and Thuggas but can rap like the Nas and Jay-Z and get respected by the J-Prince's and Shug Knight's.
6.) The Mogul Girl : If you could work on a song with any artist who would it be and why ?
Cowboy Beebop : Probably PartyNextdoor. Dude just knows how to capture a certain mood in his music. I would love to learn how to do that. Plus, I think our chemistry would be heavy,
7.)The Mogul Girl : If you could do a song with any artist who would it be and why?
Cowboy Beebop : It's a documentary by Big Sean called the "Road To Hall Of Fame". It's about his creative process while he was making his second album. I watch this jawn and it bring it bring me right back.
8.)The Mogul Girl : Most cherished lesson you learned in life ?
Cowboy Beebop : Most cherished lesson would be the law of attraction. When you have a clear picture of what you want and you focus and work towards it, the universe brings things in your life that help you achieve it .
9) The Mogul Girl : What does Philly mean to you ?
Cowboy Beebop : It's home. I have a love/hate relationship with the city.I've been to a lot of different cities and nobody has their own swag like Philly male or female. Everywhere we go we standout. But on the negative : The city is to hard (lol) . We don't gotta be ganster all the time. We gotta learn to embrace the fact that we're all different . Some n***** are street dudes , some dudes are hipsters . It's too cliquey.
10.) The Mogul Girl : Tell me what you want listeners to gain from your music ?
Cowboy Beebop : An understanding of me. My lyrics are so personal. Which I do intentionally. I want people to feel like they know me. I want my fans to be my friends , that way I'll be good no matter where I go in the world. Also if I can give some kind of insight on doing what you want with your life and not what people think you should, then I'm happy with that.
11.)The Mogul Girl : What was your dream growing up ?
Cowboy Beebop : My dream was and still is to be remembered. I'm scared to die as a nobody and have death and time destroy my legacy.
Shoutout to my daughters Melaysia and Milan
Shout out to @EarlyBBq on Instagram , Get Free Movement , La Beinot @LilSisTho on Instagram.
Although Cowboy Beebop is currently incarcerated he is missed by his family, friends, and supporters . This was a great interview and I'm glad I got this opportunity to do this interview. No matter where you are you can be free to go after your dreams and let them be heard.

Big Sean recently released two new singles "No More Interviews" produced by Amaire Johnson and Sean. "Bounce Back" is produced by Metro Boomin ,Hitmaka & Smash David, Metro Boomin & Amaire Johnson. The Detroit lyricist always delivers exciting , super swagged, A1 songs . Recently he performed at the Hillary Clinton " Get Out To Vote Rally " which also featured Jay Z , Beyonce, J.Cole, and Chance The Rapper. Big Sean definitely locked down the stage with performances of his new tracks and a couple of throw backs. His career is definitely showing that one man can change the world. That no matter who you are as long as you continue to believe , you can do it all while inspiring others. The youth are the future so Big Sean started his Sean Anderson Foundation which helps Detroit youth in areas of education, safety, health, and over all well being. The foundation works with school aged and disadvantage youth from across the nation. Big Sean is a very busy guy . He's 1/2 of the duo Twenty88 with the beautiful songstress and writer Jhene Aiko . He's also the latest artist to collaborate with Adidas and Stance Socks . Big Sean is hustling to the max and doing it all it his original style and glory. So after watching Big Sean's performance the other night I tweeted the picture he took with Jay-Z and J.Cole. and he liked my Tweet. Cool right? I've always wanted to interview Big Sean because I knew it would be an inspiring, fun, and enlightening interview. Big Sean talks about reading, meditation , parts of his life, bossing up, and so much more in his music. So I know that it would be a very key interview. So when I heard his song "No More Interviews" for the first time, I instantly made up my mind, that one day I have to get that interview done. I've always been the interviewer to ask questions that would make the interviewee feel comfortable, happy, connected, and intrigued. there's no need to talk about drama or gossip when there's so many dreams , creative ideas, achievement, goals, positivity , and important topics to discuss. I believe in speaking things into existence. Big Sean holds tight to the memories of his come up , how his life changed, and making his dreams comes to pass. I'd title my interview with Big Sean "Dreams From The D" because one he's from Detroit , he reps his city, and the very dreams he had in his home town, in his high school, and in his home helped him to travel the world and become Big Sean the super-star we all know today. So when I get my chance to interview Big Sean here's what I'd ask him
1.) You read a lot. If you could describe your life as a book. What would be the title and why ?
2.) So I take it you have a new album coming out . Tell me about it but If you could go back in time and be featured on an 80's classic , which song would it be?
3.) Since starting the Sean Anderson Foundation, what has been your most cherished memory ?
4.) You're super stylish, what was it like to become a collaborator with Adidas and Stance Socks ?
5.) You've toured a lot and traveled the world. Where's you favorite place to eat?
6.) What's one lesson that you learned as a child/teen that you will never forget?
7.) Would you write your own book ?
8.) If you could president for the day , what is the first 3 things you'd do?
9.)On "No More Interviews" you say "I realize it ain't what you have, it's what you feel, that's what true success is". So what do you feel ?
10.) We all have a bounce back moment in our lives what helps you bounce back ?
11.) What have you spoken into existence ?
Congratulations it's the m***** ******* chasers. The highly anticipated album "DC4" by Meek Mill released on October 27,2016 the day before he headlined Power 99's annual Powerhouse Concert here in Philly. If you follow me on Twitter it's full of Meek lyrics right now. I've been waiting for this since DWMTM (that went #1 in case you forgot) The internet is still buzzing about the DC4 and so are the charts. Yesssssss his new album is coming in at the number one spot on various charts as it should. DC4 features his queen Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Quavo, Don Q, Young Thug, 21 Savage, YFN Lucci, Tracy T, Pusha T, Guordon Banks, French Montana, and Lil Snupe (R.I.P to Lil Snupe). Meek definitely took his time with this project and worked with Jahlil Beats, SR Beats, OZ,Rara, Pyro, Tarik Azzouz, Sonny Digital, Dj Ryu, Beat Bully, Butter Beats, and MP808 to name a few. The lyrics are fire, the beats are dope, and the videos to accompany the album are litty. Despite what the media says about him he doesn't quit and he continues to do his thing. So last year I dropped an article on The Mogul Minute about why 2015 was big for Meek so of course I had to drop one about 2016. So let's get in to it!
1. DC4 LIFE
First of all , I love this album. I think Meek wanted us to really feel his story, feel his pain, be motivated , get stronger , and shine on everybody that doubted or prayed for a downfall. He chose really dope artist to feature on his album. So the versatility and creative collaborations are major. The album def has a song you're going to feel heavy. He def is letting everybody know that he's Blessed Up and that You Know he's going to keep it Litty . Blue Notes is one of my favorite songs. Again this album is Way Up on the charts we're talking #1. Now that's how you Shine On The Regular . So at the end of Tony Story 3 did you all peep the part four gone be a movie ? Maybe we might actually get a full movie style - visual for all of Tony Story. His wrist still Froze and he proudly wears his D.C. chains so we can see that s***. The Difference, Lights Out, Two Wrongs, Offended, definitely are hot tracks. So from track one to the outro "DC4Life" is straight heat.
2. HIS SON PAPI STARTED KINDERGARTEN
Meek posted this picture of Papi on Instagram in celebration of him starting Kindergarten. That definitely is a big moment to be proud of. It's good to see this. Meek is a proud dad before anything and he is happy to give his son the opportunities and the life he didn't have.
3. MEEK AND NICKI STILL LIVE TOGETHER !!!
On "Froze" Nicki said "Meek and I still live together" and Meek told Noisey Raps in a recent interview that " I wake up in my bed and I just look at Nicki , like man this sh*t has gotta be a dream because we used to dream all this sh*t and it's just going on right now ". So haters might as well give it up , they winnnnn! Both Nicki and Meek had another successful year. Nicki covered Marie Claire magazine and did a very heart felt interview about her career , her life, being a boss, girl power, her upcoming TV series, Yonce and Jay-Z, and how black women also carry the weight of racism and murders of husbands and boyfriends. Nicki also released her eighth fragrance Trini Girl. These two have been putting in work as always . You can't help but be proud of that!! Ouuuuuuuuuuuuu!
4. MEEK RELEASED HIS NEW DREAMCHASER COLLECTION SNEAKER "BLAZE OF GLORY AND BASKET " WITH PUMA
Meek's "Blaze Of Glory And Basket" sneaker collaboration with Puma released in July. The sneaker launch was held at Foot Locker in the Roosevelt Mall in Philly. Meek signed autographs and took pics with the supporters that came out to see the debut of the sneaker inspired by Philly and Bike Life.
5. MEEK WAS FEATURED ON THE SOUNDTRACK FOR BIRTH OF A NATION
The song "Black Moses" by Pusha T ,Meek Mill, and Priscilla Renea is featured on the soundtrack. The track is one of sixteen songs that add a musical story to the importance of Nate Parker's film. The track idiscusses slavery, fighting for freedom, injustice, incarceration, and believing in God to handle it. The soundtrack features major artist and all of them helped to make a project and create perfect songs for such a powerful film.
6. HE DROPPED A LITTY FREESTYLE ON FUNK FLEX
The freestyle said it all! He ripped this.
Meek puts on for Philly. He's chasing his dreams and living them at the same time. He work hard it's evident. So it's obvious that all you gotta do is not give up . No matter what people say as long as you believe in yourself and stay focused , you can do anything!
I had to drop this article. Make sure you read last years article if you all haven't yet.
THE MOGUL MINUTE : SEASON 2 OF JERMAINE DUPRI'S "THE RAP GAME" IS ALL ABOUT THAT FIRE !! ( THE MOGUL GIRL)
This season of The Rap Game is all about that fire. Jermaine Dupri is looking to add another member to his So So Def family and he's not playing any games . This time his expectations are much higher and he's bringing in a host of celeb friends to join in on the fun . So for the next ten weeks we get to see these youngins do their thang on The Rap Game.
The show started with a group of seven young artist who've accumalated tons of views online meet up with Jermaine Dupri's assistant Jny Flowers . Jny introuduced them to J.D, Da Brat, Brian Michael Cox, and Timbaland whom all were anticipating the performance from each up and comer. Finally it's showtime and and Jermaine is ready to see who's gonna bring that heat.
Lil Key of Baltimore went first. He quoted Eminem lyrics "You only get one shot" . Lil Key definitely knows that he has to come with i it in order to stay in this competition. Next up was Nia Kay the "Dutchess of Chicago". Nia announced that she has Diabetes Type 1 and that music is her outlet. Nia verse got everybody hype including Timbaland who danced and hugged her after her performance .
Tally, 16 of Nashville started to rap but forgot her verse . Sometimes when you got it good you forget sometimes . Jayla Marie of Stanton Island,NY wanted to show that she could sing and rap and that it's a completion not a collaboration. Mini Barbie Young rapper hailing form the ATL ran out of breath during her performance. Swagged out Young artist Mani, came prepared but he messed up. We all mess up sometimes but hey it's The Rap Game and just like season 1 you have to stay focused and be on point. The Prince of NY is lyrical and he impressed the whole panel. Da Brat joked that you're gonna need a encyclopedia to understand him.
One things for sure is that these young artist want to be in the game but, are they ready? After each artist auditioned for their spot Jermaine Dupri announced that there would be an elimination. If you landed a spot on the couch then you could continue on in the competition . Everybody landed a spot except for Mini Barbie . The super - cute young artist said she didn't feel he made the right decision.
So Jermaine Dupri had the final 6 write raps about the other artists in the crib and deliver the verse in front of him and Snoop Dogg. Can you imagine spitting a verse in front of Snoop D-O-G-G? That's wassup. Jermaine Dupri is definitely turning it up in season 2 . So it's times for the hit list.
4..Prince Of NY
So Mini Barbie and Tally were eliminated from the The Rap Game.
Yall are definitely in for some surprises this season so it's time to stay in your lane and check into The Rap Game.

As I walked into he Fillmore the LOVE sign glowed as smiling faces welcomed my mother and I. After checking our tickets we ventured up the stairs to another kind face whom greeted us and informed us to enter a contest to win concert tickets and receive updates on upcoming shows. The dim lights of the Budweiser Club room illuminated the stage where LION BABE and Kamau would be performing.
We stopped at the table to view merchandise before cruising around a little. A tall young man wished us to have a great time before directing us to our seats under the Pink promotional framed photo. The area is beautiful. The red vintage leather couches , red curtains, and brick wall set for a sultry alluring vibe.
After we were seated we took in the view. The show room started to fill with concert goers and music of Erykah Badu, Musiq Soul Child, and other artist streamed on the TV as their music floated through the air. My mom and I talked and posed for a few pictures. Seated on the other side of the curtain was Style Connoisseur Eugene Simms of DC. I snapped pictures of the stylish music lover. My mother, Eugene and I all sat together in our booth as we waited for the show to start. We all talked , laughed , and shared stories.
Soon the Budweiser Club was full and fans were beyond excited. The lights faded a little more before artist Kamau took the stage. Kamau is a D.C lyricist and singer. As he took to the stage we headed to the floor to get the full vibe of being at the concert. He performed songs from his EP “ A Gorgeous Fortune” and spoke about the injustice in America and that it’s not just a black problem but a problem. As he performed “Pohlease” we held our fist as the names of victims of police brutality rang out through the speakers the energy shifted in the room. Did you feel that? It was something powerful about that moment. The energy of those souls definitely were in the room during that time. He even brought artist No Wyld, on stage to perform “Jusfayu” with him. His set was packed with so much goodness. You can get his EP ( here) .
After his set music continued to play for a while before Interscope artist “LION BABE” took the stage. The duo Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman have joined forces to create incredible music. Jillian welcomed all of us Philly fans as she proudly said “We are Lion Babe”. She looked beautifully golden. She’s stunning and her hair just gives off so much life . Lucas rocked out doing the production for the set. The crowd turned up as they performed songs from their "Begin " EP such as “Wonder Woman” ( I LOOOOOOOVE THAT SONG) , Got Body, On The Rocks, Stressed Out, Hold On , Treat Me Like Fire, Jungle Lady, Where Do We Go, Impossible , and a couple other records. Jillian also took the time to shout out her parents the beautifully talented Vanessa Williams and producer and entertainment industry exec Ramon Hervey II. Jillian also expressed her feelings about the importance of stopping the violence and that lives matter and dedicated her song "Little Dreamer".
The crowd was pumped as we danced and sang along with Lion Babe. Huge shoutout to her band and live audio engineer Brandon for keeping the sound on fleek and sounding good.Lion Babe closed out the show with a performance of their hit song “Jump Hi”. We jumped up and down as she showed off her amazing dance skills. Once the show was over Lion Babe took photos with their supporters.
All in all the show was beyond amazing. You have to put a “LION BABE” show on your bucket list. You have to put a “Kamau” performance on your must see list. The Fillmore is an awesome venue to see a show. Definitely follow them on social media. I’d also like to thank John Legere the CEO of T-Mobile for T-Mobile Tuesdays and lacing me with special tickets from Stubhub to see the show. Get LION BABE album and follow them on social media. Love to everyone that attended and thank you LION BABE and Kamau for being absolutely awesome.
The sounds of the Djembe drums beat in my heart. The Marabou Stork delivers messages of my ancestors ever so quietly in my dreams. The Adofo warrior initiates the essense of love . The Abasi Warrior iniates the power of being stern. I smell the African Iris as it thrives in vague memories. I hear the call of the griots as I remember stories and songs. Over 3,000 languages suppressed under my tounge.
Hello. Have I forgotten? I scroll through my smart phone ignoring the sounds of the morning birds. Have we forgotten? We're connected by satellites but have we lost connection ? Are we seperated. The calls for real freedom have rang for years in the home of the free. My ancestors blood, sweat, and tears still float through the roads. They fought for change and we're still carrying the load. MLK , Malcolm X, MOVE, Muhammad Ali, Nina Simone, Mandela, let their power be known. It is time to speak now or for never thou we have peace. Remember Tupac Shakur interviews and speeches and the lyrics of N.W.A?
Our ancestors told stories of family, strength, and love. The blood of leaders mix with every cell in our being. Have you forgotten who you are? Adjust your crown. The slaughter of our own still haunts us all.
Love has no color. Death has no color. Life is the one thing we all possess. Life was made in God's hands for it is he the true owner of all that has the right to start or end. It is not you! The simple fact your skin is not golden glazed, honeyed, browned, or ebony does not give you the right to judge or take a life. I've seen history books of my ancestors lynched and murdered and now I see it happen to my people. In the palm of my hand I see my people die. I will not live in fear but how can you not be somewhat scared? You are subconsciously living so you don't do anything to lose your life. Is this really the home of the free? Band together forever on all levels. We are family. Division is not the answer, murder is not the answer, hate is definitely not the answer. Why not Unity in the United States of America? You know liberty and justice for all! We started in our home Africa but we're here now (Not by choice of our own). So Dear America I ask that you change your eyes. Change your mind, change your hearts. We are all human and we all have a life to live. Yes there's good and bad in everything. Nobody on this earth is perfect. But nobody deserves to die because you think you are better than them, you think they're less than you or you feel that they don't deserve to be here because of what they look like. Power lies within us all lets tap into that to cause a shift in the atmosphere nothing is more powerful than God! Prayer changes things and so does togetherness. You matter! Any piece you can do can change. Remember Ruby Bridges the black 5 year old is the reason our schools are desegregated today. A lot can be done if we just use our minds. Think about it. I will not give up for the generations after us need our voices to be heard today. I pray for this world and the families of Philando Castile , Alton Sterling, Dylan Nobel, Jose Raul Cruz , Symone Marshall and the thousands of black men women, children , whom were murdered by police. My prayers go out to the loved ones of the police who were killed in Dallas . Violence is never the answer and it never will be the answer. Stand together and pledge allegiance to change and love.
-A black girl in America that is tired of seeing the racism, hate, death and unjust system Shayna Sherie- The Mogul Girl
Seriously we need change. We all need love and care. There's problems in more ways than one and we need to work together to fix them. We are all human and we should not have to live our lives in fear or suffering. Let's change ourselves and change , change the unjust education, medical, judicial, and financial system. At the end of the day life is given to be lived! All I ask is that everyone stay safe. Remember to read, research and don't give up hope. There's good and bad in everyone. All cops aren't bad. Nobody on this planet should be mistreated because of what they look like or whom they are. Everyone is speaking out about today's issues including celebrities ( whom are human too and have the right to feel a certain way too) . This world needs love!

Three days later and I'm still floating from Beyonce's Philly "Formation World Tour". I'm literally beaming. After the release of "Formation" on Tidal and her powerful Superbowl performance we all knew the Queen was up to something. Then her promo for her tour comes across the TV screen. If you're anything like me you were up early on February 10th to get tickets for the show ( I got mine in the pre-sale) . Where were you when "Lemonade" dropped on HBO and Tidal on April 23, 2o16? Beyonce is iconic. She is doing what she loves and what she dreamed of as a little girl and it's just magical to see. "Lemonade" is a musical production that will always be remembered. The emotional stages that Beyonce and her large team ( which she credited) brought to life on her album and visuals is strong, creative, sexy, relative, loving, sincere, informative, edgy, steamy , and hard.
Finally June 5, 2016 arrives my mom and cousins arrive at Lincoln Financial Field. The skies are gray, rain in falling ( lots of rain) , but the smiles laughs , prayers, and excitement still fills everyone's face. I saw "IVY PARK" apparel, fans in Formation merch, and fans in their favorite Beyonce styles. After the approval for us to go to our seats was given we entered. My Mom and I sat in Section 222 Row 1. The seats were great by the way ( I'm so glad I could surprise her with tickets she's my best friend, love you mom) . The sun was coming out, our clothes were drying and we were smiling and laughing and thankful that God let the rain stop. The LFF started to fill with more of the beyhive. Music fro Sevyn Streeter, Chloe & Haley, and Yonce's "IVY PARK" ad played as we waited for the concert to start.
DJ Khaled's booth started to light up and then Mr. Major Key himself hit the stage and brought out Yo Gotti, The Young Gunz , Rick Ross, and Meek Mill . The day was already off to a hot start. If you follow me on Instagram, you already know how hype I was (laughs). So the audience is already excited and awaiting Beyonce to slay. After DJ Khaled's set a couple minutes passed and then the lights dropped and the roar of the audience and the energy just spread through thousands. Beyonce's intro popped up on her giant screens and it was officially time to get in Formation.
I will post clips from my Instagram of me turned up below. I'm yelling "I see her". The Lincoln Financial Field officially lit up and everyone was ready to party on a Sunday night with Beyonce, My mom, my row, and I are screaming, singing, dancing, and having a great time. Just watching the happiness from everyone around as we all watched our favorite do exactly what she loves. It's truly the definition of art and passion. I'm watching her perform "Crazy In Love, "Don't Hurt Yourself, "Me, Myself & I" , "All Night", "Hold Up", "Freedom", and "Naughty Girl", just to name a few and going "Oh my goodness we're really at her concert. Like we're really seeing her , like ahhhhhhh". This was my second time seeing Beyonce live in concert. I might have been 13 when I saw her the first time . This time at 24 I really got to party it up and slay . Beyonce is just beautiful, gracious, funny, and just amazing to see perform. The fact that her set was just mind blowing. She made sure that her fans no matter where they were sitting in the arena could see her and not miss any of the show. Hearing Beyonce say "The best relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself", hearing her say " I'm a very country girl from Houston Texas, I am you and you are me If I can be up here I promise you can do anything, all you have to do is dream there's gone be blood, sweat, tears, haters, but you gotta fight and you will be here I promise you " . She's just so gracious, inspiring, and it was just an amazing night. Thank you Beyonce for never giving up and for grinding and really being a star! Thank you to everyone for being apart of her team and making the Formation World Tour incredible. I have to go back September 29th. Beyonce is truly one of the greats and she slayssssssss. Thank you TIDAL.

THE MOGUL MINUTE : FOUNDERS OF KARMALOOP AND UPSCALEHYPE PARTNER WITH SILICON VALLEY VETERANS TO LAUNCH THE NEXT - GENERATION OF MEN'S GENERATION OF MEN'S FASHION AND STYLE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE IN CURATEURS.COM ( THE MOGUL GIRL)
Curateurs.com to become the leading fashion discovery
and lifestyle website for men where influencers & celebrities reveal their style.
(Los Angeles, CA – June 2, 2016) – Today fashion and style entrepreneurs, Greg Selkoe, Allen and Kyle Onyia, partner with Silicon Valley veterans, Dr. Paul Judge and Cedric J. Rogers to announce the launch of their joint venture, Curatuers.com. Curateurs is a revolutionary new website for men’s fashion which aims to be the go-to place to purchase exclusive items curated by the world’s most sought after influencers and celebrities.
By showcasing fashion from your favorite style influencers and today’s hottest celebrities, Curateurs combines the power of celebrity influence with technology, but in an authentic way not yet seen before. How? Not only will top celebrities showcase some of their favorite limited edition items and brands, but they will allow users to buy items straight out of their personal closets and private collections creating a one of-a-kind entertaining shopping experience that directly reflects their personal lifestyle. And because of this unique opportunity, most products are available at Curateurs.com and nowhere else.
“We want to provide our customers with hard to find expertly curated stuff ,” says co-founder, Greg Selkoe. “There has been a lack of innovation in the fashion shopping experience, especially for men,” adds Dr. Paul Judge, Chairman, Curateurs. “Paul and I began reaching out to our contacts in the influencer and celebrity community. The resounding response was, ‘yes we want to share our lifestyle’ and ‘yes we have what amounts to billions in goods to sell or products we love.’ We knew we were onto something big!” continues Greg.
How it works: The Curateurs’ team scours the globe to find the best cultural influencers. The focus is on style and substance not just fame. The invited “Curateur” is interviewed and talks passionately about the products they have picked. Then the website showcases photos and videos of Curateur style looks and provides a community platform where users can discuss said looks, save favorites to style boards, and/or buy them, creating a blend of content, community, and commerce.
Dr. Judge comments, “Everyone wants to be cool particularly our demographic. The great thing about Curateurs is that it has everything from the expensive Sotheby’s like pieces such as Ryan Leslie’s Grand Piano to street wear like Jeff Staple’s Staple Pigeon brand.” Greg adds, “the thread that ties all the products together is that they are all authentically part of the influencers lifestyle.”
The founders of Curateurs have had significant successas in both fashion and technology. Greg Selkoe was founder of Karmaloop, a leading men’s e-commerce company that grew to $100 million in annual sales. Allen and Kyle Onyia are founders of UpscaleHype, a high-end lifestyle online magazine that focuses on what celebrities wear. Cedric J. Rogers is a 10-year Apple veteran and Dr. Paul Judge, has been co-founder and executive at several successful technology companies including CipherTrust, Purewire, Barracuda, Pindrop and Luma. The newest team member Steve Birkhold, a 30-year veteran of the fashion industry having served as the CEO of Bebe and Lacoste, along with a 10-year tenure at VF recently came on board to add more fire power to an already formidable team.
The list of celebs already on board is quite impressive and grows daily. The first 3 Curateurs for launch are: designer Jeff Staple, one of Hip-Hop’s biggest rising stars A$AP Ferg, and Grammy Award Winner, Ryan Leslie. Future Curateurs include: The Chainsmokers, Jerry Lorenzo from Fear of God, Raekwon, Nipsey Hussle and GEazy, to name a just a few.
Curateurs, which targets the highly lucrative young male, 18-34, fashion forward demographic (according to Ad-Age this group spends over $200 billion dollars annually on consumer products), boasts over 200,000 users, 80 celebrities committed, and some of the world’s top fashion brands since its beta launch.
